    OHMSS.
    It has:
    A) A shadowy introduction of the new James Bond,
    B) James Bond saving the girl,
    C) A great fight scene on the beach, between James Bond and two thugs,
    D) One of the greatest OO7 title tracks of all time, and
    E) The only title sequence that includes scenes from other Bond films.

I have two favourite PTS's. Firstly TSWLM, the brilliant ski chase and parachute jump. The other is TND, because I love the in flight cruise missile shots and the l-39 jet dogfight.
As for a title sequence, I like LALD, cause i dig the flame theme, and the song.

The title sequences with the best stunts are - The Spy Who Loved me with the famous jump by Rick Sylvester and Goldeneye - the bunjee drop from the dam - electric!!

The best title sequence is from TSWLM, because you can;t beat girls swinging on gun barrels. And the two best pre-title sequences are TND and OHMSS, TND because it is just awesome, and OHMSS because of when he says "This never happened to the other fella"

    PTS: TSWLM

Titles: i love OHMSS and AVTAK, both fit the theme perfectly, the symbolism in OHMSS is great, and AVTAK just has a cool feel to it.

    My top 3 would be:

OHMSS- You just can't usher in another Bond more smoothly than that. "This never happened to the other fella..." Then Lazenby runs into the title score like that...A+!

DAD- Like I said on a similar board, Connery's back, the score and the showdown with what we've all come to know as a fake Bloefeld equals flawless.

TLD- Dalton's introduction was riveting IMO. I felt the action and score that was played was well thought out.Really didn't care for AH-HA's title song though...
Mrs. Man Face: "You wouldn't hit a lady? Would you?"

Batman: "The Hammer Of Justice is UNISEX!"

Pre-title: Twine, It might be a little on the long side but we get to see a Bond gadjet used, a beautiful woman (cigar girl), an awesome boat chase, a little bit of comedy, and a real cool ending. Plus it ties into the movie well.

Title sequence: LALD. as mentioned above, the flaming skull is really cool. The song itself is awesome also.

Edit: Did I mention Cigar Girl?
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

My favourite is definitely TSWLM - brings a lump to my throat ever time. Next favourites are Goldfiner and, surprisingly perhaps, TLD.

    Cheers,

    Mark:)

    Goldeneye.

By the time it was done I was assured that the franchise was back and more viable than ever.

I REALLY loved all the Brosnan ones and CS is one of my favorites too.

If I had to pick one; I suppose I'd go with Goldeneye.

    Goldeneye.

Many people underrate the AVTAK PTS. For all of you haters of California Girls (which is about everyone), if you take that out, you have a very well done sequence.

FYEO's is good as well, though many don't appreciate it. Though I love the song, to satisfy the people, maybe the bit from Melina's Revenge should've been taken out and kept with no music the whole way through.

OHMSS's is also very well done.

I also must say, my favorite part about LTK is the pre-titles sequence, however I hate the titles, (That camera gets me angrier every time I see it).

PTS- No doubt about this one in my mind: Casino Royale. This was perfectly executed, and the end of it with the gunbarrell and lead into the title sequence was perfect.

Title Sequence- GoldenEye. I enjoy this one every time I watch it, whereas with others, I just want the darned movie to begin.

My favorite pre-theme song sequence is either TLD or GF. Both very good. For theme song sequence, they're all pretty good. Though I enjoyed Casino's reto style, and I also liked FRWL.

    Pre-Title Sequence: FYEO and TWINE

Both made me laugh unreservedly, and got me in the mood for the movie. {[]

Main Title Sequence: TSWLM and FYEO

I don't usually take much notice of the titles, but the songs are truly excellent.

My favourite pre title sequence is TND, like Goldeneye as well ( although over the top). I actually enjoyed the pre titles of Die another Day, the rest of the film was awful mind you.
  • JohmssJohmss Posts: 274MI6 Agent
I will start with the titles sequence.... and my winner is: GoldenEye, first, well the technology, and second... well, i really loved the symbols of URSS falling down and the girls all along... it was WAY different to the eighties stuff. Sadly I didn't saw them in theatre, that must been amazing.
About DAD, well, it was ingenious than the titles were along with the movie (not that much, but you get the point) back then it was new (or weird). i saw those in the premiere and well... Danny did it again. (though there weren't as spectacular as other times)
    OHMSS.... Unique!

The pre titles sequence... this is hard, but i stay with Dr. No

Ops, there was no pre title sequence in Dr. No, ok then OHMSS... not so much action at the beginning, but then it goes as a pre title should, and ends in a tied spot (Bond can't win them all). TSWLM is a classic, but the parachute isn't the cherry in the top, is pretty much all (i mean, if Bond gets in a car or something else, the chase would be interesting, i mean, the chase isn't that shocking- important but not shocking-)
I kind of like CR titles, but only what i sa in the TV spot 5, after i see it, i'll tell you

For me, the best PTS would probably be a toss up between Thunderball and The Spy Who Loved Me. TB's PTS has a great mix of humor, action, and one of the most audacious escapes ever. TSWLM has a fantastic ski chase and one of the most amazing stunts ever caught on film. Honorable mentions go to DAF, OP and GE.

As for the best titles, I also like Goldeneye's credits the best. The imagery dovetails nicely with Tina Turner's title song; and after not seeing a new Bond movie in 6 years, they really sent a shiver up my spine.

For me the best PTS is TWINE, a good mix of everything one wants in a Bond picture, action, humor, Bond girl, suspence, it had it all. Best title would GF, everytime that great song starts up and the title starts to roll I get excited. Don't care that I have seen the movie probably 20 times, still love it.
  • ZachZach Posts: 51MI6 Agent
My favorite PTS is now probably CR's. The murders were so brutal, and so awesome. We havent ever seen anything like it in the Bond series before.

I also love TND's pts. It gives me chills everytime Bond gets rid of the "backseat driver" and radio's into the Admiral.

As for Title sequences, my favorite has to be OHMSS. It seems really simple, but it has a cool style to it.

Title sequence honorable mention goes to: CR, and GE.

Honorable Mentions: From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day. Clearly, this is a series strong point :p

My favourite PTS is a toss up between Goldeneye and Licence to Kill. Its really tough to chose between all 20 PTS, let alone those two!!

My favourite titles are Live and Let Die. This was the very first Bond film I saw when I was young, and I guess the song and titles remind me of days gone :):)
1- On Her Majesty's Secret Service 2- Casino Royale 3- Licence To Kill 4- Goldeneye 5- From Russia With Love

I really can't pick one fav PTS, but a couple of my favorites are GF, LTK, GE, TWINE, and now CR.

It would have been hard for me to pick a favorite TS before, but now that I've seen CR, I can easily say that it has, without a doubt, the best TS of the series.

best title and Pretitle both go to Live and Let Die

    Reasons why:
3 different events for an opening
    fun to watch again
    great dancing and snakes
    head exploding
theme song and mood during opening credits

    Best PTS:

    1. Goldfinger - This is the standard to which the others aspire. The tux under the wetsuit was classic.

    2. Diamonds Are Forever - Connery at his most bad-ass. Starts out with a crash through a wall. The interrogation of the woman was pretty blunt (and a freeze-frame through this brings out the adolescent in all of us).

    3. Casino Royale (2006) - This one reminded me of DAF. Very brutal, and the monocrome really added to it. Very brief and blunt.

    4. Octopussy - Gotta love the AcroStar jet!

    5. Goldeneye - The base jump was done well, and after a six year drought, it was nice to see Bond again. A sentimental favorite.

    Best Titles:

    1. Casino Royale (2006) - I really applaud them for doing something different here. The rotoscope was unique, and helped to set up the story well. The graphics and Chris Cornell's theme song fused together well here.

    2. The Spy Who Loved Me - I just thought these titles were good, and coupled with one of the best theme songs of the series.

    3. Goldfinger - Too tough to forget. That song's still in my head!

    4. GoldenEye - Good imagery, and Tina Turner is a perfect fit for a Bond theme.

    5. Dr. No and From Russia With Love (tie) - Just cool to see where it all began.

My favorite PTS is from AVTAK where Bond goes snowboarding on the whatchamacallit with that classy music. :s 8-)

Favorite PTS- Goldeneye, I don't know why but it just is.

Favorite TS- TSWLM, it's not so much the title that I like but the song is a good one.

The pretitle sequence is a very important part of the film if it is the rubbish people will be leaving the cinema in there hundreds. Here are my favorites.

1st: Casino Royale - James Becomes Bond
The beginning of Bond as we know it. Perfctly acted and shot in black and white "inspired" With Bond's first kills with I think the greatest gunbarrel scene.
Dryden: Your files shows no kills and it takes...
    Bond: Two.

2nd: The Spy Who Love Me - Best Stunt
Great skiing which builds up to one of the greatest sunts in film history preformed by rock-climber Rick Sylvester on Mount Asgard that he climbed soon after the stunt.
Cabin Girl: But James I need you.
    Bond: So Does England.

    3rd: Goldeneye - 2nd Best Stunt
The best opening of an opening continued with great action and a big boom, but the end stunt is a bit silly and clearly used CGI.
    Bond: I'm alone.
Alex: Aren't we all. Your late 007.
Bond: I hade to stop in the bathroom.
Alex: Ready to save the world again?
    Bond: After you 006.

The title sequence also very important but my favorite has to be Casino Royale and strangly it has bright colours in the titles that usaly have dark colours and figures of women including card refrences and Bond fighting.

My favourite pre-title sequence would have to be a tie between Goldfinger and Thunderball. In Goldfinger, Bond calmly destroys what appears to be a drug factory - the scene when the bomb goes off and Bond is calmly walking to the bar smoking a cigarette was very well done, it was as if Bond hasn't a care in the world. Then come two gems of a line:

"Forgive me, I have a slight inferiority complex. Now, where was I? Oh yes ... "

    "Shocking! Positively shocking!"

Thunderball fight scene was every bit as good.

"Madame, I've come to offer my sincere condolences" ... then promptly lands a blow to the jaw ... brilliant.

Thunderball also gets my favourite title sequence vote, for the underwater shots.
    "Watch the birdie, you bastard!"
