If you have seen Casino Royale... Three questions:-
1. What were your top three parts of the film?
a) The interplay between Daniel Craig & Judi Dench, great characters, great dialogue
b) All the fisticuffs, great action, brutal, but still elegant and controlled
c) Torture scene and Craig's responses. Brilliantly conceived, and took the edge off the fact that Bond got rescued, rather than extricating himself.
2. Would you improve/ change anything?
The Pacing and over-the-topness (in context) of the setpieces between the first and second-half of the film was awful. The quick inclusion of 2 massive action setpieces in the first half, was misjudged, and hamfisted.
The Vesper\Bond falling in love\give up my career\betrayed was badly written and needed to be more close to the book version, or filmed to show it developing over a longer period.
3. Does Daniel Craig get your vote of the "00" status?
For the moment yes, but I'll only fully endorse him after his second film, because this gave him alot to work with, given the availability of genuine Fleming source material, along with the 'starting over' approach, which other entries in the series do not have the benefit of, and nor will Craig in the next one.
