I was just thinking the same myself about it lasting 3 years, its stupid when you think about it. I wouldn’t mind if it goes up to a hundred now if I could just get them all now, its getting to the stage that I really hate waiting for them every month then rearranging my display each time so that they fit.
I know, Im impatient but I have been waiting about 2 years now for the whole set.

What are we all going to do when it's over..we have all spoken to each other for so long now :(..we will have to find another outlet :)) -{ :007)

Winners & Losers of the JBCC:

Assuming the collection stays with the 85 models as recently announced, here are the films which proved to be popular in the James Bond Car Collection, and those that didn't...

    8 models:
    Quantum Of Solace

    7 models:
    Goldfinger
    The Living Daylights

    6 models:
    Octopussy
    Die Another Day

    5 models:
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    Live And Let Die

    4 models:
The Man With The Golden Gun
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    GoldenEye
    Casino Royale

    3 models:
    Thunderball
    Diamonds Are Forever
    For Your Eyes Only
    A View To A Kill
    Tomorrow Never Dies

    2 models:
    Dr No
    From Russia With Love
    You Only Live Twice
    Moonraker

    1 model:
    Licence To Kill
    The World Is Not Enough

(This list excludes the subscriber specials).

Thanks for the list of possible additions beyond 85, ak007 - I'm with you on the TWINE Ford Escort, if for no other reason than because no other diecast company has AFAIK made the Escort Mk.VI :)

To your list I would add, as "baddie" cars that enjoyed some real screen time in the movies, the Auric Industries Mercedes 180 (black) or 220 (blue) from the forest chase in Goldfinger, the Peugeot 504 from the olive orchard chase in FYEO, and the cliff-edge Mercedes, also from FYEO. There was also a Turkish Ford station wagon in FRWL that got a fair bit of screen time.

I am trying to build a showcase in our living room with the James Bond car collection. I am usually not allowed to do any James Bond related stuff in the living or sleeping area anb showcasing 85 models will definitely be too much.

So, the basic ide is to use THE car, which is the most significant in each movie and has been used by James Bond:

The normal visitor should have a look at the board and say: "Hey, I remember this car in that movie....."

    So, here is my list:

    DN: Sunbeam Alpine
    FRWL: none
    Dr. No: Aston Martin DB5
    TB: Aston Martin DB5
YOLT: Toyota 2000 (albeit driven by Aki)
    OHMSS: Aston Martin DBS
    DAF: Ford Mustang
    LALD: none
    TMWTGG: AMC Hornet
    TSWLM: Lotus Submarine
    MR: none
FYEO: copper Lotus Esprit with skis
    OP: Alfa GTV
    AVTAK: none or Renault Taxi
    TLD: Aston Martin V8 Coupe
    TLD: none
GE: Aston Martin DB5 (but there is no GE DB5 in the Series)
    TND: BMW 750iL
    TWINE: BMW Z8
    DAD: Aston Martin Vanquish
    CR: Aston Martin DBS
    QoS: Aston Martin DBS

Have I been missing out something?

FRWL - Bentley, due out soon.

DAF - Moonbuggy (key sequence in DAF)

TSWLM - Lotus street edition with Naomi in helicopter in background

Octopussy - Tuk Tuk (driven by Vejay)

Goldeneye - BMW Z3 and Russian Tank (key sequence) which is available without background
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent
    Thanks Spectreisland.

the Bentley in FRWL is not significant enough. You are right about the Z3 in GE, funny, that I forgot it....

With TSWLM, I have to boil it down to one car, and I don't consider the TucTuc to being a car ;)

    Great work ak007!
This is exactly what I want to do to that model, but need to get hold of a second one, so I have one original and one I've adapted.

That’s my plan too. This model (ironically) arrived damaged, so a fresh one is on its way as we speak. When I get the chance I might even change the background of this one, I'm thinking just before it goes into the quarry... Or maybe I will just add in front of the Alfa’s the truck that took the door off

But it’s quite hard to take stills from this footage, sometimes I think it might have been better to film this bit from Mr. Wight’s point of view, we would have had more of a clue of what was going on!
By the way, haveing opened the dbs up fully i can tell you that its not only bond that was left out but Mr wight isent in the boot ether! :))

I have just realised that I won’t have another bond to put in my new DBS.

So I have been looking back at all of my damaged/ unwanted doubles that I have been sent to see what I can cannibalise. (I do feel a tad guilty about this by the way)

This has made be think about all the other models that we are due from QoS that will also be figure less.

    63 Alfa Romeo 159
Which I already have two from the Toyota ready to go

    65 Land Rover Defender
I will use one of the people from the Chevrolet nova

    70 Ford Edge
Will most like be empty with bond and greene in the background

    76 VW Beetle
I have a spare 2cv, so I will use the girl in that for Camille

    81 Daimler Super Eight
The diorama for this will no doubt show Greene walking away but I will use one of the men from the Toyota as the driver

    84 Ford Bronco
Will most likely be before bond gets in, if not then i will use moore from the 2cv

As for the Aston I don’t have anything else suitable at the moment...

    I agree! Well done.
I haven't the heart to take a hacksaw to an Aston. Even a model of one! It would bring tears to my eyes, that's why I'm letting "the master" do mine!

The Sacramangas flying AMC project was stopped a while back due to illness, but it only needs the finishing touches now.
Not quite minigeff standard, but it looks good amongst all the other items I think.

No we havnt, I dont think we have them, only local motor shops, & in ours the colour on the tin was almost identical to the car, we used the correct primer & all that, but it comes out a different shade.
(It's better than the pic shows actually, coz its under LED lights. Honest!)
But before it gets the yellow stripes, we'd like a second go.
Could you get a spray can of the correct colour then minigeff?

Thanks for the comment on the AMC.

I like the Bentley, I wish they could do the Rollers as well, but where did you take the photo? Im curious.
Would have been a bit of a bummer if the model had rolled backwards!

Unfortunately KingsModel doesn't get every JBCC model - for example, so far this year he's missed the LALD Impala (#54), the TB Fairlane (#57) & the QOS DBS (#58) :(

He had a "Bentley Blower" in the books, they are similar to Steeds!
Some one correct me if Im wrong.

Hope they modify it a little more to make it more screen accurate. For instance, I don't see the reddish sun visors on this pic that are clearly seen in the film.
