If None of the Original Golden Gun's in the film
especially the one which Broke down and
assembled - Did not have an opening Cigarette
case handle? does that mean there were 4 Original
Golden Guns / Parts Like so

    1. SOLID PLAIN ( NONE WORKING ) VERSION

    2. CAP FIRING GUN

    3. ASSEMBLE & DISSASEMBLE GUN

    4. GOLDEN GUN PARTS that fuction as individual parts ?

Maybe so, as we do see scaramanga use the GG pen to write on a paper, or did he actually write something? did it have ink ? was it a ballpoint pen ?

we simply do not know if there was GG parts that function as individual parts, simply that we see a cigarette case opening and a pen that can write,

i wonder what scaramanga did to the ink of the pen when he assembled the GG under the table, and where did he get the cuff link if he had a short sleeve shirt, was the cuff link inside the cigarette case ??

Leo you should do a Directors cut of the film with all these questions and answers explained :)

Yes good point, Well the cuff links with threaded heads did go on and off his shirt cuffs
however the trigger is the only part we never see being made onto the Gun, I take it, its because it just wouldn't work / look right, screwing a solid part into another solid part, wouldnt look like it functioned as a trigger maybe?, or maybe its because the cuff link that actually went onto the Gun was like the SD and FE guns with a big long thread and this would have looked odd on screen being attached to the gun, The Gun that could build up in the film I am fairly sure did not have the long Cuff link thread to give the gun structure by screwing in part the handle flip off and into the lighter pull out, beacause the gun you see him assembling had short thread head cuff links and if this wasnt the links that attached to the Gun why have a thread on it at all? why not have a plain gold cuff link that was never going to be shown attaching to the gun anyway and leave it up to the viewers imagination,

Good point Leo regarding the Pen ! does he even write anything down or fake it? Mind you In Ed. M FRWL attache case booklet showing the rare EON props archive pictures etc he took, there is a few Golden Gun Pens lying around in one Pic and some of them have the internal Ink cartridges and Gold fountain pen nibs, in fact it was this picture that inspired the Ink workings design for my Replica, altered to suit the replica and function.

    GG3.JPG

Christopher Lee Does say in the Commentary for the film that the deleted Dual did show Scaramanga Loading a new Bullet from his Belt buckle into the back of the Gun, funny how there has never been a film original photographed or shown that had a flip down back like the FE gun and a hole for loading the bullet in, although the promotional and behind the scenes pictures for the film show Lee with the gun flipped down at the back holding a Golden Bullet as if hes about to load it in to fire, however the lighter is filled up at the back with a Colibri Lighter, My Replica can light and its lighter activation button can be taken out to load a fake round into the back, but thats another little thing that will be shown in the video.

Factory Q-Branch its funny you should say that regarding cast and crews memories because what Mr. Lamont told me in an in depth convo about the film and the gun, what i was told completely contradicts some of what Bert Luxford said about the Golden Gun, in his book Gimmic man and some of it is different to what is said in other books. Even some of the stuff Syd Cain says about the FRWL attache case and Knife shoes is different from what Bert Luxford said and done and some of John Stears work etc .. also what you said about all the lighters on screen being welded shut what about this shot

    417C9NbadkL._SS400_.jpg

sorry its so small but we have all see this image at the bottom of the soundtrack cover with the back of the Gun flipped down showing a Colibri inside. its on the films DVD gallery also

everything you said about why your golden Gun has certain things and why it dosent have certain things I totally agree with and fully understand what you are saying it Echos what I said earlier with my take on the FE golden gun I think its a stunning peice you guys have created I love it, SPOT ON!

I actually believe he did. There must be another few sets of these functioning parts somewhere during production.

These may not be used for assembling into the gun, but just as stand alone set pieces.
Maybe so, as we do see scaramanga use the GG pen to write on a paper, or did he actually write something? did it have ink ? was it a ballpoint pen ?

Quick questions, have just picked up a Colibri Molectric 88 in the same diamond cut finish, identical to Kan's earlier example. The proportions do not seem the same as any of GG lighters I've seen, mine and Kan's appears to be a lot shorter. Did they make a longer version or are the GG versions all mockups to suit the prop. Also, although my example has monogram space on the end of the lid, it does not have Colibri engraved on either end of the lid, was this just done for product placement on the prop lighter?

The Lighters on all of the Guns were extended and fabricated to suit.
as they had to be longer to make up the area and the pull out
extention because they have to cover the width of the handle and
the handle again by the flip off.

so yes they were altered for the film

texas007 I agree with you there must have been stand alone parts
for everyday functions, the Pen you have shown in the close up,
looks much thinner than any of the Replica Guns and when the gun
is made up in the film, which are much thicker and built up as the gun
    barrel,

So we have proof there was a working Stand alone Pen

Working wearable stand alone cuff links

an opening cigarette case which stored cigarettes

the only think is now was there ever a lighter which
    could light a flame,

    - if there was ? was it similar to my replica which is a
casing holding an original Colibri Molectric inside, so an
external boady built up around the original Colibri, because
the lighters in the film are much thicker than the average
Molectric 88 lighter which is about as thin as the pen barrel
    if not thinner

Thanks Mick, still at least I now have an original. Any thoughts on the logo engraving?

well In texas007's close up You could get the colibri logo engraved

does your lighter have the hallmarks at the gas screw, saying colibri
    london etc etc

I am making my replica have the Colibri hallmarks at the front were
the pen screws in I know this is not seen in the film but when the
gun is in bits its much more convincing and beleivable as an everyday
item which is the aim of mines,

Always nice to have the original Molectric Model 88 in your collection
to see where the design all started from,

I wonder if another company had a different product placement in the
film, if the gun would have looked very different ? if it wasnt Colibri
would this have made it different, But i supose its what Peter Lamont
made from his designs and Balsa Wood Model, I would love to see this
Balsa Wood model which Mr. Lamont still has in his office at home he
told me, Technically It IS the first Golden Gun :)) He said its made from
Balsa wood and I think he said it had a real Waterman Pen built into his
model and it was sprayed Gold,

DOES ANYONE know any collector etc who owns any of the Colibri Guns
with the 2 lighters stuck together Design apart from the Tarnished Colibri
Prototype Mr. Nelson Has at the Bond museum in Keswick, I know there
    was a few Colibri Guns

    MOLECTRIC

    MADE UNDER
    LICENCE IN
    JAPAN PAT'D

    Inside the lid

    Molectric logo
    Colibri logo ®
    MOLECTRIC
    '88'

I will have to leave the (R) out of my engraving :v

Dont want Colibri Getting there hands on a Delorian
and going back to 1973 / 1974 and suing me :))

My Colibri Lighter which s in my Gun says made in
England / London it dosent mention Japan, There was
Thousands of these lighters with so so many different
variations and styles and other details

    Some great commentary here.

There were indeed working separate prop items that functioned, some are still in the archive. There where multiple lighters, cufflinks and some cigarette cases some functioning (in the way were originally intended), some not, but none of which where part of the actual gun props, or could be assembled or built into a gun. The fountain pen was a working pen, and writes perfectly. But its just a pen, it does not attach to anything. If you look at the top of the cap in lunch table scenes you can see it has no barrel or hole for the bullet to come out, and no removable screw thread cap at the bottom. It was an unadapted store brought pen. BTW in the prop story we detail this and we identify the brand... and its not what people think. With Mr. Lamont's help we tracked down the guy who actually brought them.

Its truly amazing the amount of work and effort that went into these props, not to mention expense.

The image is a great one, its one of the images that inspired us to include loadable bullet. But it's origins are a total mystery. They are not Christopher Lee's hands, and the shooter is wearing a black jacket and white shirt, which was not part of Sir Christopher's wardrobe . We have asked multiple people where the shot came from and what it was for? Was its a deleted scene? Was it from a promo image, as several guns were produced for promo purposes ... but honestly we don't know and have not been able to find anybody who does. Most mysterious!

Factory Q-Branch Christopher Lee DID wear this style
of Suit and outfit for Promo shots for the film either pre
    production or post

See this shot and the gun he is holding may be one
of the film used or the mystery gun you cannot ID,

    vil14.JPG

the replica pictured was a model I made for display in the Bo'ness
    Motor Museum in Edinburgh

so the black jacket and shirt must have been either Mr.
Lee's own clothing before the film or after, although not
    used in the Film

WAHT! :)) Didnt he wear this black suit on the Junk Boat
when he goes and sees Maud Adams in Bed and strokes
her face with The Golden Gun ?

While we are showing off our Golden Guns - here is my "One of a Kind", "The One and Only", 1 of 1 Ultra Limited Edition Golden Gun - super accurate - its gold looking :)

May not be as functional as only the barrel is wood, the rest is foam and tape.

Ok i will stop the posting of my material,

the mean reason I post images that i have on my site
when referencing images etc, is realy because I can't be
Ar**d making a photobucket space or somthing like that
just to upload an image for one comment,

Btw I have stopped these certificates with my commission
replicas etc now, thanks to you guys :)) you are quite right
they are / were a bit pointless I will have to think of a new
    title to replace Authenticity :v

I am thinking of getting a gold plated Dummy to spit out next time :D

texas007 i am curious also, what are those items beside your replica ?

and your cuff link trigger looks alot like the cuff link trigger that was on
    the argentina Resin Golden Gun

and yes I have placed my order for a FE Golden Gun and created a few
fake names emails and alternate addresses to place more orders I am
wanting at least 10 FE Golden Guns because I love is so!

    cheers danjaq_0ff -{ :007)

You know, The Jurassic park Movies are a group
of films I have never ever watched or seen.

seen bits here and there but never watched from
    start to finish

Same for Lord of the rings....

The Lord of the rings films I tried and tried to sit
and watch and get into them, but after 30 mins into
each one if that, I just loose the will to live!

Always been meaning to watch the indiana Jones
movies from start to finish seen the first 2 and
    enjoyed them,

texas007 your Golden gun model, did you base it
on any sizes etc or was it made from eye and photos ?
