Cool! Do they have the correct hinge style?

    I DO like these, but...

Why do they remind me of some bloke breaking a pair of specs in half and announcing that "it'll take more than a few props to turn 007 into a herald".

    Ah, how times change.

redsleighdown may I ask where you purchased it from? I only ask because I'm a few weeks away from buying a pair and I been mulling over various online retailers. So far this appears to be my best bet: http://www.coolframes.com/?fid=36079 but looking at the pics it seems to have the wrong type of hinge.

I checked out that site when I was looking. Good price, correct hinges as far as I can see. Be sure to use this site for a few extra $$ off your purchase: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/coolframes.com

http://www.framesemporium.com also keep popping up at $397, but they don't have them in stock (I tried) and its 2 weeks to be shipped from Germany. I suspect that is the same for most of the online retailers.

I found a stockist in the US, tried a few choices on and ended up with these.

Not sure if anyone cares, but Lisbeth's camera in the movie was an NEX-3 from Sony. The NEX line is very cool and is the current leader of the mirrorless camera class.

Interesting - I have a NEX 5N on the way, actually very excited as I'm only a cheapo point and shoot kind of guy but thought with two very young daughters it would be nice to have some decent pics for a change before they grow up!!!!!!

I've been continuing to follow the line and I still keep hearing that they can take SLR quality photos thanks to a few excellent lenses and Sony's full size D-SLR sensor.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Very similar bit I think the consensus was that they were a solid colour. My pic of the tortoiseshell ones was just because they were my preference, and the ones I bought.

Strictly speaking, I started the thread. . .however, when I split this off from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo discussion, yours was the first one that indicated a new topic was beginning. This has been an active thread, though--be proud to take the credit!

Oh, okay. Didn't know it was ever part of another thread. When I originally responded to Napoleon Plural's question, this was it's own thread, not part of another, and there was only the original post.

Just found the original post. It made it's way to the off topic forum but it has no replies at all now. They're all here. With no question. :s

Ah... that's sad. :( If you give me your password I can go back in and edit your first post so it has my question if you like... :D

Lisbeth's Helmet, if it hasn't been mentioned, is an Alien XXR with custom visor in Flat Black:

Also sorry to bump a dead topic, but figured it would be better than making a new one.

I was at Gap today and saw what for a long time as been a conquest of mine: a jacket similar to the one Craig wears in Dragon Tattoo.

    Dragon_Tattoo_Jacket_Comparison.jpg

It has the same woven texture that his jacket from the movie does, as well as being extremely close in colour. Comes with a detachable hood. Biggest difference is the lack of a pocket on the left side.

I found this in a store in Scotland; some friends in Canada have seen them too, but they don't appear to be online yet. Cost £45 cause of Black Friday, but I believe they are regular £48. Warm and comfy as heck! Hope some of you can grab some before they're gone.

I saw it too in the Oxford Gap - I am fortunate to own the original and thought it looked like a very decent alternative
