    The ratings system in GB is much more sensitive to violent content than in the US. In the States they get alot more twisted about sex and nudity. Interestingly, big budget films seem to be able to get an easier time from the ratings board than smaller low budget films in the States (of course the ratings board is funded by the big studios :v ).

    A PG-13 rating in the US pretty much means nothing except a warning to parents that there might be something not appropriate for jr if they are under 13.

    I've seen a Bond movie when I was 3, TLD that is, on VHS.

    It depends what sort of attention span the child has. It really is the parent at fault though if the kid plays up and there are some films where it's just like "what were these parents thinking?!"
    I went to see The Dark Knight Rises with my dad over the summer and throughout most of the film someone let their kid run up and down one of the aisles. Babies crying is ridiculous too. Unless you know you can get your kid to sit through a film and be quiet, get a babysitter. I mean, if you are alright with the violence and swearing then Skyfall being 2.5 hours as well should really be the thing that decides it. A lot of people might be able to get their 8 year old to enjoy a 2 hour Bond film, but 2.5 hours is a lot for anyone's attention span.
    I agree with others though, adults are often no better. It is my great regret that during my viewing of Skyfall I didn't have a go at the woman in front who kept getting her phone out every 20 minutes. After this and various other things the past few times I've been to the cinema, I just can't stay silent any more. I've carefully planned by second viewing for tomorrow - a Monday lunchtime/afternoon. Hopefully empty of kids and if anyone gets their phone out they will get the biggest bollocking of their life.
    Relax darling, I'm on top of the situation -{

    I was around 5 when I was taken to my first Bond film. On holidays
    and us kids had been sent to the cinema, Slept through most of it.
    Although I did remember bits of it, Only years later did I figure out
    which One it had been when it was shown on TV. :D

    Nice -{

    You have it better off than me. My first bond at the cinema was bloody DAD, lol :#

    I wasn't old enough to see a bond at the cinema until TWINE... but I never went to see that at the cinema because I wasn't really into bond yet... wish I did though. Would have been a better 'first bond at the cinema' than DAD :))

    My next Bond was LALD, After seeing the Milk ads, and
    knowing Roger Moore from the TV. I begged my older Brother
    to take me to see it. Absolutely loved it :D
    As for DAD, I think the first half isn't too bad, But once
    the invisible car and crappy CGI kick in, ( Like the OHMSS ski chase )
    It's all downhill. :))
    Luckily Casino Royale should of made up for it. ;)
