Does anyone know anything about Chaika or Luch watches? I have wanted one for a while because I think it was be very Bond to have an old Soviet watch and ladies watches now are huge! On the other hand I am sick of wind up watches because the old ones can be so fickle even if you have them serviced all the time.

I tried this little Seiko on yesterday. I like the size but it is a bit dull.

Ok, thanks! I was surprised to see it. I would imagine it wouldn't be water resistant as well after all that customizing.
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent
That should not worrysome. The SKX007 is a workhorse and if it's closed back properly and tested there will be no issues about waterresistance.

A friend of mine in Hong Kong does modifications on this type of watch and his custom dials are 50-80$.
That's why I find the mentioned watch highly overpriced.

Never heard of them I'm afraid. But I do like your idea of a a Soviet watch. Pretty cool idea!

I really like this Luch because it looks like something Tatiana Romanova would wear.

Yep, it's hard to beat a simple tank-style watch for those times when something sporty just won't do.
  • VesperMelogranoVesperMelograno The SouthPosts: 901MI6 Agent
I ended up buying it from a seller in Ukraine. I have a 1960's Seiko tank watch with an aubergine eel skin band that that looks just like a Cartier tank watch but it will cost a small fortune to repair. I love old watches but they are a nightmare to maintain.

Guys any suggestions on buying a Spectre NATO strap? Seen a lot on eBay from $3-$200.
I don't know if there's much of a difference most of the photos look the same. Anyone have any experience with the ones under $15?

A thought came to me last night, I wonder how many of us would sell our omegas if Bond wore a Rolex or other brand in the next film? I wouldn't as my association with Omega goes back before bond wore one, I've had a few Rolex in the past also and for some reason always ended up selling them. Not that I think there is anything wrong with Rolex it was just a personal thing.

It took them 3 years to make a band made of nylon!? Manufacturers claimed it couldn’t be done!? I’m calling BS on that...

I think most here would just buy the new watch if it was SA in a future film irrespective of the brand. I love Omega and like you have a long history with them so would not see myself selling them wholesale. Never owned a Rolex so cannot really comment but for me Omega has sleeker lines I prefer personally. So may struggle with another brand unless there was a good case to get one.

Omegas strangle hold on Bond may change when the new Bond arrives time will tell but by then my collecting days may change to pure just enjoy what you got days.

I could be wrong but from my understanding Rolex will not pay for product placement in a movie sadly hence I think we will be stuck with Omega for quite a long time

It was purely hypothetical, Ive heard that about Rolex too after all they had no ground to make up like omega after their horrific decisions of the past.

If Bond was wearing Rolex again, I doubt too many people around these parts would stick with Omega for long. TBH, if Bond was not part of the equation, I honestly can’t understand why anyone would buy an Omega (Speedy notwithstanding). But I guess that’s just my own personal bias.

If EON sells, I think we’ll see Bond wear a Rolex again.

Would any potential new owners want to miss the undoubtedly huge Omega revenue?

Rolex won't care. I don't think they pay for product placement.

I could see Tag Heuer jumping in, or maybe Breitling, which appeared on The Bachelorette

Well being only 23 found a total steal on eBay.
Came with the rubber and stainless steel bracelets.
Just ordered the Spectre NATO! It might not be a Rolex or omega but hey it works for me and feels very Bondian.
