Hey, we all had to start somewhere.
That's a good looking, stylish watch. As you work way your up to the inevitable Omega and Rolex, may I suggest you look at Steinhart next, a good quality, excellent value, stylish mechanical watch...

Just ordered the Spectre NATO! It might not be a Rolex or omega but hey it works for me and feels very Bondian.

I use this one for my work watch. Cheap, reliable and very accurate.

Is that a new 1957 seamaster 300 or a vintage one? Either way it's a beauty, you're a lucky man

The new! Put a deposit down months ago and it just came in this week. Thought about the Railmaster or the Speedmaster, but something so perfect about this one.

I think after the success of the Spectre LE, where it's a tie-in and also screen accurate, they will want to go a similar route and have a model tied inextricably to the film.

Yeah most likely - the SPECTRE LE was a success for sure!

What do you guys think of the new Omega Aqua Terra line? There are a few models that I like, but most of them are too sporty for my taste. The understated version are still okay, like the stainless stail with a black or blue dial but most look a lot less nice than their predecessors.

Might be time to pick up that 231.13.42.21.02.003 before it is too late.....

Ive heard the new ones are a fraction thinner, hopefully Omega work on this aspect as their watches are so thick.

The Skyfall 38.5mm was ridiculously thick for such a small watch with just a date

I like that they've gone back in time a bit and removed a lot of wording off the dial, not that I disliked it but it does make it look cleaner. I prefered the old style dials, with the tuxedo or teak deck style stripes, As Welshboy says the thickness needs work, my 2500 AT feels nice as a more dressy watch, and makes it feel understated, AT le 8500 feels more like a sports watch on the wrist. The newer bracelets are very comfortable and look good but I'm not over fond of Omegas cross range current obsession with rubber and nylon straps. I put my at le on its blue and yellow strap once, just couldn't live with it so on its bracelet it stays.
As a whole though like you, the blue, black or white dials on a stainless bracelet look good and are still well made watches with great and technically up to date movements. I wouldn't say no.

Opinions on the pre-Bond Seamaster 200s?
Love that it doesn't have an escape valve, hate the mercedes hands (stilletos look cleaner, IMO) and one piece bracelet without the option for a NATO.
    a reasonable rate of return

Love everything about it, but it is trying to be very much like a Sub don't you think ?, but still I like it :)

Depends which one your looking at? not all 200's had Mercedes hour hands and a cyclops, and some could fit a nato. But I agree the 368.1051 in some guises was a bit of a Rolex sub " homage" :)

Why is Britt Ekland modeling the Pulsar from Live and Let Die? Did the watch make an appearance in Man With The Golden Gun? Anyone know the story behind this pic?

James Bond's watch collection has been valued from Dr No to Spectre. You won't believe which 007 had
the most expensive timepieces ?......... I wonder if those here would agree or disagree ?

I would think Connery’s Sub would be worth more than the pre-Daytona if all other factors were equal. No?

6538s seem to go for twice what that site lists. But they have the PVD Night Diver at $8000+ ???

    Also, literally WHAT:
No-one knows exactly why Bond switched to Omega, but it’s rumoured that Rolex thought, with the end of the Cold War and middling success of Licence to Kill, that Bond was dated, and wouldn’t last. There’s also a rumour producer Barbara Broccoli thought the Omega looked sleeker.
