Was this the deleted scene in which he sold that watch to fund 3 months of spartan living on the beach? :))

Just picked up a copy of "Watch Time: America's #1 Watch Magazine" April 2016, because the cover lists an article on "James Bond and his Beauties." Now, I'm no expert when it comes to Bond watches but I do happen to know that 1965's Bond film was called 'Thunderball', not "Fireball" as the article states which tends to sour my opinion of the whole piece, I'm afraid. However, I do have a question for our Bond watch experts here, under 1962, it says that Connery wore a Rolex Submariner. It then makes mention of a 6358 which "...film buffs believe that this model was one of Sean Connery's personal possessions." Unless I am mis-reading it, I believe that the author is saying that the watch Bond wore in Dr No was Connery's watch but I thought I'd read before that the watch was actually Terence Young's and he'd strapped it onto Connery's wrist on-set. Is that a true story or a legend?

I think you're right Welshboy, it was Cubby's not Young's. Never heard before that it was Connery's though (if I'm reading the article correctly) and considering Connery's moderate success at the time, I find it hard to imagine that he would have been sporting one when Dr No started filming.

It was Cubby's. DC's 6538 was given to him by Barbara and Michael, but it isn't THE watch. DC's has a later dial and different bezel compared to the screen used one.

Watching SPECTRE last night I noticed Bond drives off at the end in the DB5 with a black strapped wrist watch see below. Did we ever identify this one? Sorry been away for a while just catching up on the Bond front. I am guessing this would be watch no 3 for this film and maybe Omega.

Looks like black leather band, white face and maybe multiple dial or hands

    Cheers

Buried somewhere is a lot of discussion. Not sure it was ever positively identified, I think it is assumed to be a vintage Omega model.

I took my Omega in for servicing the other day, so have been wearing this Rotary I've not worn for a while. It originally came on a black leather strap, which started to disintegrate for some reason, so I got a cheap brown strap from Amazon that I thought made it a bit less "dressy".

For the person who has it all:

I've treated myself with this neat set - now I don't have to use my expensive Rolex Springbar tool when the neighbour asks me to shorten her Tommy Hilfiger watch bracelet :s

Quite right, my best friend who lives in Spain found a lump in one within a week they had removed the offending ball and put in a prosthetic one, he's had two kids since. Not sure if he watches porn on a Wednesday tho
