a lot of people "hate" AVTAK just because of Roger Moore's age. but before I list why that is unjustified I just say that a lot of people overanalyze the films and are so honest about that that they can't jave any fun with them -{

For me Octopussy is the best 80s Bond. Fantastically entertaining and lest we forget saw off the challenge of the return of Connery in the unofficial Bond. To that end a hugely underrated movie. We can iron out the cringeworthy moments in the Special Edition :v .
On the subject of Dalton. I wasn't sold at first when I saw TLD at the Cinema. I found his delivery of lines a bit stilted and uncomfortable at the time. Always loved the 'I got the message' scene though. When I saw LTK I loved it and thought he was really hard nosed and cool. Strangely though I have found I enjoy it less as I get older. Maybe at the time it appealed to the angry young man in me..who knows?
Dalton and Moore are my two favorite Bond actors, so that of course, makes me biased toward the 80's. :007)

For Your Eyes Only. I think that it is my favorite Bond film in the series for being a good back-to-basics plot with it being engaging. I love the cast to death, the car chase & extended ski chase scene, the soundtrack by Bill Conti does it even better for me and the locations, man those locations are amazing. This feels like a true Bond film, and a cold war spy thriller. I don't have any flaws, rather than the pre title sequence which feels bland and a bad way to send out Blofeld. John Glen sure did deliver in his directorial debut as a five consecutive Bond film director. 9.5/10

Glen did very well with the India half of the film and that is what attracted me into loving that tier of the film. I love Glen's trademark of 'scaring the pigeons' away. The 'Tarzan Yell' and Gorrilla suit was embarrassing and not Bond like at all. Once the film gets to Berlin it feels tired and long. I enjoyed the main villain and the action, but nowhere near as much as the predecessor. 7.5/10
A View To A Kill has a soft spot for me. Definitely an improvement over it's predecessor, and although Moore is definitely too old, I still love what we receive. Great locations - really enjoyed Paris, the Chateau, the lake in France and of course my favorite of all, San Francisco, CA. The obvious stunt doubles were there, yes and Grace Jones was a little strange for the role. Walken however, brilliant actor and definitely in my top three villains next to Sanchez and Alec 006. The action was terrific, at the Eiffel Tower, the hilarious taxi chase, then you have the fire truck Police in San Fran and the final climax which is among the best in the series. Dalton should have been Bond here, I agree, but AVTAK is definitely in the top ten and engages great with a terrific plot and a great finale. 8.5/10
The Living Daylights is beautiful. Better than the last two films combined. Honestly, one of my favorites in the series, and Dalton's best performance. Timothy Dalton is in my opinion the most underrated Bond actor, and my personal favorite Bond. He plays him seriously, and with a harder-edged style. Dalton might not have the comedic tone that Connery or Moore had but I honestly don't give a tooter. I loved Moore's serious performance on FYEO, and loved Dalton even better in his two films. The locations on TLD were superb, including Slovakia, Austria, Morocco and Afghanistan. The score by John Barry is amazing, and among the best in the series. Although the villains of this film were the weakest of the 80's, I still pick TLD over every other film of the 80's except for FYEO. This IS a real Bond film. 9/10
Licence To Kill is the last film to be directed by John Glen and the last appearances of Timothy Dalton, Robert Brown as 'M' and Caroline Bliss as 'Moneypenny'. I loved this film, despite the blandness of the locations (worst locations of the 80's). Also, the two Bond girls didn't really do it for me, but despite all that, this is one of my favourite James Bond films, now and forever. Dalton IS James Bond, and I loved the idea of him seeking revenge over the death of Della Leiter. He sure did get his ultimate revenge against Franz Sanchez, a ruthless villain. Awesome story, with flaws ('M' is a jerk to Bond in this film, Caroline Bliss gets next to no screen time, locations are bland, missing General Gogol and Minister of Defence). Terrific film, wish Dalton had done Bond films in 1991 and 1993. 9/10

The tsumani hate is justified but I don't get the hate for the invisible car, it's no more ludicrous than an underwater one.
Same with Madonna, she's in it for 10 seconds. She doesn't have the worst lines, nor the worst acting in the series.
