It appears that Indian tennis player Sania Mirza has been approached by the Bond producers to play a small but significant role in Bond 24. Her comments on twitter appear to give the article some validity.

That would be brilliant, I loved him in both of his Tarantino movies!

By the way: back in 2011 the Skyfall press conference was over for two weeks now, what about a press conference connected with Bond 24?

If it turns out to be correct there would be some fantastic casting
    In Bond 24. {[] :)

I think you're right TP. The description of him playing a "nemesis of sorts" certainly lends itself to Blofeld. Perhaps it will be written as an ally role who late on is revealed as the behind the scenes orchestrator, likely Blofeld now Eon have the rights.

I think it's fairly unlikely that Eon won't involve Blofeld, having waited so long to get the rights back...

I like Waltz but am concerned that we'll get a more hammy villain, especially if the humour quotient is upped. Whilst I enjoyed Waltz performances in Inglourious and Django, they were admittedly humorous roles...

The only film he was in that I didn't like was The green hornet.

Christoph Waltz is a great choice. He can play sly humour & yet still exude menace, like Ian McKellen as Magneto. A class bit of casting. Hope he's the new Blofeld.

I might add he's one of the few actors I can think of who could utter the line, "I've been expecting you, Mr. Bond." with a sly irony that would avoid cliche.

I think it would be a fantastic piece of casting.
But like people are saying, he obviously suits the "scheming" type of villain rather than being hands on. (Maybe Waltz could play the head of Quantum. I'd love that.)
If true, it's also obvious why they wanted a memorable henchmen like Bautista, Craig v Waltz wouldn't be a very convincing fight.

If Waltz is the villain for Bond 24, Craig has been blessed with some fantastic actors to go up against. Mikkelsen, Bardem and Waltz could easily be part of a list of the best actors around at the minute.

Can't go wrong with Waltz, whether cast as friend, foe, or somewhere in between. Great casting IMO.

Waltz is good at playing villans. He has a good mix of menace and humour. My only problem with him is precisely that: he often plays villans. It would be better if they could find someone with his talent who isn't internationally known for playing villans. Then again, Bardem was known for playing villans before SF, and that worked brilliantly!

Said the first time I saw Waltz,in Inglorious Basterds, that he should play a Bond villain. If he is cast as Blofeld, I would be very happy, but I doubt that's the character he will play. He'll probably be someone more like Cristatos.

Another story from the express on Christoph Waltz being in Bond 24.
    Question.
Will this be the first time a Double Oscar winner is in a Bond ? :D

My first exposure to Waltz was Inglorious Basterds, and ever since that time I felt he would be great as a Bond villain. I sure hope this happens.

As John Barry did a guest spot in TLD, I'd guess he was the first multi Oscar
    Winner in a Bond ?

With Mexico being a location, I think this strongly hits at a return for

Looking forward to Waltz as a villain, be good to have a more understated villain after the outlandish Silva.

Really pleased with the casting of Waltz he is an actor that has great presence on screen. I couldn't be any happier as I can't actually think of any current actors that could play a character with the right mix of sinister genious and cutting/sarcastic humor. An inspired choice IMO.

I also think it must be a well written part, as he's giving up a staring
Role in the new Tarantino movie to do it ! :D
( his Oscars have come from Tarantion films )
