I wouldn't want to see any new developments involving a 'retconning' of 'Skyfall' (the retrospective imposition of new continuity on a film from before).
Business-wise it would be an intelligent move indeed. "Whaaaaat, the guy in SF was Blofeld all along? must see that to catch the clues", so EON would be selling SPECTRE and re-selling SF.
It would certainly give a new meaning to the last shot of SF, and the whole movie, really. Silva would have been a pawn in the hands of Mallory!
