It's good PR for the film anyway, people won't avoid it because Craig is being honest about how he feels.
I'm happy, and he sounds happy that it's his last film.

I am not really sure what that means. I was rather neutral to PB. I thought he got crappy scripts. DC is crappy and the scripts are even worse - I hope he leaves and takes Cubby's heirs and Mendes with him.

Somebody has already pointed out that in a MORE RECENT interview, DC said he'll carry on playing bond for as long as he can. So why on earth is the media fixating on the earlier, "suicide" interview? It's always doom and gloom and I'm tired of it. DC to stay, IMO.
Poor Pierce. At the time his films were new he really was by many fans considered the best Bond since Connery. Now it's Craig's turn.
I really do love all 6 Bonds, but this leads me to a cynical theory that a huge portion of film goers only accept what it current. I've heard so many people say they would never watch a film made before they were born, so they could well be missing out on Dr. No, Goldfinger, OHMSS, etc.
Even more cynical, by that rationale, you could cast country singer Kenny Rogers as Bond, make it "edgy", promote it as being true to Ian Fleming's concept, and a large portion of the audience would buy it and consider HIM to be the definitive OO7. Hence the Craig bashing would begin.
Kind of a shame in way that more audiences don't embrace previous films along with the current era.
Well said - they're fashion victims. Reminds me of a trend in ladies' shoes some 15 years ago. All you had in the shops were those hideous, long, pointy shoes that made even the most beautiful foot look hideous. Yet most women wore them - and like them! Luckily they're all gone by now!
I don't buy this and don't think it will happen with Craig the same way. Simply because Brozzers films got really crazy.
He started off fantastic with GE but things took a turn for the worst. I don't think we will go to the extreme of invisible cars / kite surfing etc in DCs films unless they really get bored
There were crazy bits in Brosnan's movies - just like in any other Bond actor's movies, and that certainly includes Craig. If you don't believe me, please watch Skyfall again!
Irritating (and frankly boring by now) that they continue to rehash the same Craig remark...but I do believe he's coming back. It's good that Naomi Harris is trying to have his back here.

The media know they will get more mileage out of negative stories than positive ones...it's all BS !
If he goes then it's not the end of the world. Bond will carry on. It's a boring read, I may read articles like this when it's 100% confirmed he has left the role. Till then it's all hearsay.
He will be back for 25. I am pretty sure that one will be his last though -{

By that point, I think The House Of Eon will be ready for a change of direction as well. Mr Craig is a bit like Harrison Ford, or Sir Sean, in that I can see that when he is ready to go, he'll go. Prob with two or three new projects on stand by.
In the meantime, I am going to wait for SP and see how good or bad it is. As for the media, I gave up on any interesting / happy / uplifting stories there a long time ago. Not knowing what's going on brings peace of mind.

But Mission: Impossible 5 and Kingsman did well. Light action films are much more popular now than they were a decade ago. The November Man, an even darker action film than Craig's Bond films, did terribly. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. probably didn't do well because it neither catered to fans of the TV show nor perspective new fans (setting it in the 60s probably turned off a lot of younger people).

November Man wasn't bad, but it was a typical hyper violent betrayed rogue agent thing with PB instead of Liam Neeson.
James Bond is the original and all these other films are his wannabe bastard children. Enough people will show up for a subpar Bond film to make it profitable just because it's a Bond film; a very good Bond film becomes a blockbuster. Obviously the general public are very on-board with the type of Bond film that is being made since the Craig era began. My focus is on SPECTRE; all this hooha about what is going to happen 3 to 6 years from now I'll think about after SPECTRE is released and I've had my fill of it. Time to get excited about a new Bond film that has the potential to be outstanding if only based upon the few visuals we've seen and the cast. If Skyfall was Craig's Goldfinger, SPECTRE could be his Thunderball...and say what you want about TB, it broke box office records. -{

It depends on what level.
One of the reason I love CR-06 so much, is because it has a cheeky knowing humour in places. Just the right amount to balance the violence and destruction, with the ability to make you genuinely smile. QoS was virtually humourless. A couple of fast one liners seemingly per scene, and Skyfall is doom and gloom in its over plotted theatrics. It tries to be clever with its lighter moments, but they feel forced as a result.
I would not want Bond to emulate Kingsman, and Moonraker and Octo are proof that bad humour is as bad as none. Its all about the right balance.
