I agree for the most part TP. I just don't think Craig can quite carry himself like Connery did style and sophistication wise. He comes off as a bit "thuggish" looking to me sometimes.
But maybe that's just me as I prefer the 60's style.
Otherwise he is great, and just what the franchise needed at just the right time.

TBH, thinking over the entire thing - taken that Craig was mildly being sarcastic - my feelings are split.
While I admire people being casual, witty and not mainstream
But let's not forget that he's the ambassador for a multi-million franchise. The Production company have invested a load of cash to make a movie - a lot of people have been giving their hearts, talents and skills to the project and many depend on these jobs.
So it's also kind of unprofessional having that vibe and voicing it - though I admit that I hate the standard "It was such an honor to work with XX and YY and it's such a pleasure to be part of the team".
I just wonder if Craig would do the same if Cubby was still there.

Yes it does, Thunderpussy. Craig is to Connery what Brosnan is to Moore. The former are rough & tough, the latter suave & urbane.
I've read several interviews with Craig. He comes across as down to earth & straight-talking. Like Connery & Dalton, he doesn't seem to have a great relationship with the press; unlike Moore & Brosnan who knew how to charm them. I get the sense Craig's never been entirely comfortable with the whole Bond juggernaut but plays the part well. Craig's manner can come across a bit brusque & the swearing is an acquired taste. He could have termed things a bit better but the Time Out interview had him being pummelled for quotes mere days after a gruelling shoot. With Bond 24 barely in the can he's already being asked about Bond 25! This is a problem with Bond: It's as though we can't take time out (forgive the pun) to enjoy the current film before already turning thoughts to the next one. And of course, the internet breeds sensitivity. What one person laughs off with a shrug, another takes mortal offence at. That's why, AJB007 aside, I stay clear of social media. It's just not worth the potential aggro.

Although, I do agree that we're reaching the point that actors can't make
a joke or sarcastic remake, without it been taken as a serious comment.
If it was only a few sarcastic remarks surrounded by more positive comments, it would be okay. But Daniel Craig has been saying so many negative things that it's hard to not take most things he says seriously. And with all his swearing, it makes him sound even more serious about what he says. His comments don't come off as sarcastic to me.

You know I am sick and bloody tired of all this Craig kerfuffle. One publication hangs onto an interview done eight days after the film is shot - and releases it now. And all hell breaks loose. Who can we blame? Internet journalism? (do they check their facts), lack of decent media coverage and the sheer absence of any worthwhile news
Craig is soon going to be on a worldwide media tour where every lousy journalist is going to bring this up

Just more tabloid and internet silliness. This is just the modern version of the old "martian babies" stuff that used to get reported by in the old days. Also alot of folks in the States do not understand the difference between the British tabs and legit newspapers because their exposure to this stuff comes via the internet instead of seeing these things on the rack at the check out in the supermarket with the National Enquirer and the rest of our own tabloid rags.
The New York Post article makes me wonder if Craig will get his license to be Bond revoked.

) .... true, but there's no particular reason to film the story this way- with a few minor changes, it would still have worked with an experienced Bond (though perhaps not as experienced as David Niven).
CR06 was the last Bond film my late father saw. His comment to me was "Great film, but the hero didn't have to be called 'James Bond'..."
Craig's slitting wrists comment attracts negative coverage in the letters page of today's Metro paper (which is free on the London transport system). I think the remark has to be regarded as a gaffe, and it even reminds me a little of how George Lazenby's attitude proved a liability at about the time that OHMSS premiered. I hope this proves a storm in a teacup. I'm expecting SPECTRE to be good, and I'd love to see Craig back to do another one...

This is a nothing story that is being blown up in the tabs and on the 'net. Other tabs, etc are jumping on the bandwagon now. The NY Post
is nothing more than an American version of a British tab; the NY Post has very little credibility as a legitamate newspaper anymore. Comparing this to Lazenby back in '68 is a far reach. Lazenby wasn't even a real actor when he was chosen to play Bond. Craig has played Bond in three highly successful films, and has significantly more input into the films than any previous Bond actor. EON knows this stuff is all rubbish and if anything would be more concerned about Craig really not wanting to return than being PO'ed at him and looking to move on. Re Sony: their partnership is done after SPECTRE and they will be back in line with other studios trying to get a piece of the Bond pie and have no say at this time as to who would or wouldn't play Bond. All this "he's a bleedin' ingrate, get rid of him" stuff is all tab/internet nonsense. It also appeals to the misery/doom and gloom crowd (remember the Sony leaks: the film is overbudget, the script sucks, Amy Pascal hates it, it's gonna be a bomb, blah, blah, blah). I can't wait until this film is out already. This kind of crap is getting a bit hard to take.

People just saying "he will do another" - well, if he is out of mind with tiredness now, why would he be LESS TIRED in three years time? He will be three years older. So fans should come to terms with this!
It's patently obvious Craig has little/no desire for more Bond, most likely due to his age and the long nature of the filming schedule.
Sure, if they give him 30 million for Bond 25 he might do it but that doesn't mean he will be any less tired or enjoy the process in making the film. I'd rather have a younger, less tired actor in the role.
He's tired of making Bond. Physically/mentally tired. So this explains his "only for the money" comment. I doubt he had much love for Bond in the first place but that's not the issue here, he's getting older. If he was so tired during parts of filming SPECTRE, he's not going to be less tired making Bond 25.
I doubt Craig will return. They'll probably recast. A younger actor will rejuvenate the franchise. It's an obvious move to make.
