Bregenz is a good location and everything but the firefight is shot well.

    Best sequence in the movie

Interspersing the opera drama with the action going on around it... very much like Coppola in Godfather Part 3.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

I've seen Tosca, but it was in Prague. It's a good one.

This is a very effective way of re-doing the traditional SPECTRE board meeting. Bond's interruption here is far more effective than in SP.

Machines that squeak. quantum’s WiFi earpieces.

The concept of the meeting at the Opera is inspired. Pity little comes from it....

It’s an action Sequence? Killer catering Meets fiddled fell from the roof.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I've heard that it isn't for everyone.

Roof scene similar to RM in TSWLM

I think the gunfight could have had more air time.

As Shady pointed out, Guy Haines = Dominic Cummings (foreshadowing?)

Yes... but subverted. Because Bond has unwittingly given the same treatment to a Special Branch officer that he gave to Sandor in TSWLM.

    Mathis's ladyfriend... :x

Mathis's dialogue here and later includes some genuine Fleming (from CR)

In a 90s episode of Brit cop show 'Between The Lines' Craig played an undercover Special Branch officer unwittingly exposed by the series lead cop character. The business with Haines' bodyguard reminds me of that episode.

It’s a small scene, but this business on the plane is played well.
Nice touch reusing Vesper’s theme too...

The resolution on Bond's mobile phone is far from CSI standard.

Mathis' dialogue about heroes and villains getting mixed up... straight from Fleming's 'Casino Royale'.

Edit- as Barbel had pointed out

Fields seems a strange choice to be someone sent to bring Bond in.

She'd overpower him with her haughty public schoolgirl demeanour... very 'Head Prefect'. (And indeed she was in the rebooted St Trinians movies)
