A old described this piece as “typical runaway train stuff.”
He modest as well as talented.

The action in the pipeline... recalls Bond with "the cockamamie machine" in the pipe in DAF, and maybe even the scene in the waste disposal pipe in DN. But here we have Denise Richards and some countdown peril to spice up things as well.

When Elektra finally drops the pretence... a great dramatic turning point. Though it was obviously coming... even during a first viewing without spoilers.

Again Marceau and Carlyle deliver the goods. Electra has Renard on a string.... and he likes that.
He almost sounds grateful to M. Ick...

Having Christmas's 'ass' joke... reminds me of Bond 'trying not to think about it' when looking at Tanya Robert's ass when they were hiding in that railcar truck in AVTAK.

For me, Renard just looks like a short shady guy in a leather jacket who mutters unpleasant stuff. The sort you might see in urban streets at pub closing time on pre-lockdown weekends. Carlyle's a good actor but Renard isn't one of the great Bond villains.

Yes, that's artistic as well as erotic.

Poor Mr Coltrane was goofing through this on his birthday!

I hope he got a cake.

“The insurance company is never going to believe this!”

Of course we would....... the policy simply would exclude it! :D

The CGI with the flying circular saws is a bit obvious. And all the sparks and flashes are too manifestly studio effects.

"Q's not going to like this." The last Q-related joke in a movie which has Desmond Llewelyn in it.

Well, if Zukovsky has no caviar factory he could always work as a gamekeeper at a school...

Denise Richards' laughing at Zukovsky's predicament - "Haha, or sour cream!" I don't like Christmas in that moment. Bond's mockery of Zukovsky is okay because the two go way back as antagonists
... but she seems a bit surplus to the joke.
