Yes, that was very funny 😂 I think it’s a decent story but compared to Department of Truth it is definitely the lesser of the two (but that applies to most graphic novels, to be fair).
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Disbelievers of spooks and spirits were challenged on the cover of every issue of Ghosts to read "True Tales of the Weird and Supernatural!" Each installment of the horror anthology series featured stories with surprise twist endings designed to send shivers down the spine. Ghosts haunted the news stands for eleven years and 112 issues. Published by DC Comics.
The British Comic Annual was a great tradition back in the day, almost every kid in Britain would receive at least one as a Christmas present. Apart from the usual annuals from the weekly comics the annuals expanded into television, films and even celebrities. Any guesses of what links these…
…I know, I know, it’s very naughty of me, please excuse my black humour (is that phrase still acceptable?).
The birthday comic covers from March 10 - 16.

I posted one from World’s Finest where they pair up on a case intentionally for the first time some time back, I think this is what you remember, this is their first meeting (or at least as far as I know).
Adventures Into Terror is a classic horror comic published by Marvel predecessor Atlas Comics. It ran from 1951 - 1954 for 31 issues. It’s in the EC Comics horror anthology vein.
ADVENTURES INTO TERROR #7 - December 1951 - The Thing That Grew - Going Down!
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

...and I'm up for that.

WARNING: This story contains strong language and scenes that may cause distress.
Part 6 begins next Saturday…
I laughed out loud at Harry's line "I wonder if it's too late for me to register as a Republican".

The UK comic Battle is 50 years old this week, wow, time flies so quick. It ran for 664 issues before merging with the second incarnation of Eagle.
Here is the cover and some inside pages from the first issue…
Birthday comic covers March 3-9…
Didn’t ever read Battle…
Yes, definitely.
And I never read "Battle" either.
DETECTIVE COMICS #168 - February 1951 - The Man Behind The Red Mask - In which we have to guess who is the super-villain -
I remember reading that great Red Hood story before. Captain Tootsie, though, that's new to me.
@Barbel and @Sir Miles asked for some Gold Key titles - so here’s the first one…
THE TWILIGHT ZONE #4 - August 1963 - The Secret Of The Key
Very enjoyable; it would have been a good episode of the TV series.
Thanks for that @CoolHandBond …I liked that🙂
You’re welcome, gents…and now another Gold Key…
BORIS KARLOFF THRILLER #1 - October 1962 - Past And Present Danger
Thanks, CHB. There are many versions of that story around. Some are in books
James Herbert's "Haunted" for example
And others purport to be true. They're easy to find on YouTube.
(Don't know why I had to use 2 posts)
Thanks again…I like these 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed the tale, guys.

GHOSTS #1 - September/October 1971 - Death’s Bridegroom
Another version of the story Boris told us above, but with a lot more to it. Thanks for letting us read that, CHB.
Another enjoyable read…thanks CHB 😁
SAUCER COUNTRY Part 6 - 1 of 2

More tomorrow (the best episode so far, I think).
I’d agree with that 😁
I like how this comes into contact with all sorts of well-known stories.

To be continued next weekend…
Loving this. It keeps getting better with each intalment.

I know exactly what links those, and I'm not going into it!
I definitely had that copy of Fantastic, which would no doubt be worth a bit now if I'd kept them all in mint condition.
Operation Yewtree 👀
Has the price of those annuals increased or decreased since…?😶
I did read the odd Valiant & Monster Fun comics…not many though.
SUPERMAN #76 - May/June 1952 - The Mightiest Team in the World - In which Batman meets Superman for the first time…
Good old style adventure, although I'm sure I read (a long time so details are faint) a different story where they meet for the first time.
I posted one from World’s Finest where they pair up on a case intentionally for the first time some time back, I think this is what you remember, this is their first meeting (or at least as far as I know).
