Excited about the game because of Hitman but the only thing that feels (EON) Bond and flemingesque in that picture is the logo. The title is as bad as those of the continuation novels and comics.
Slightly off-topic, but an interesting article about what Everything or Nothing could have been.
As for First Light, here are my thoughts.
If this is an origin story, could we see Bond meeting other iconic characters for the first time? Felix Leiter seems likely. Maybe a hint of SPECTRE, or another iconic villain's organization.
I don't think that this will be a complete Call of Duty clone. Even Bloodstone tried to have it's own style. Maybe hints of Hitman, with arguably some of both Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and even Uncharted.
All I can say is I'm happy that this is finally coming. I just hope that it's not released too near to GTA 6's release date. That would really hurt it's chances at successes in more ways than one.
Also, in EA's defense they wanted to have Roger Moore to reprise his role in AUF. Same with John Cleese as R. Legal issues unfortunately stopped both. So a generic looking Bond it was.
Speaking for myself, I didn't feel anything. I know it's an origin story but I missed the Bond vibe because of the way the character is designed. I appreciate the effort to bring Fleming's elements to the modern era, but the guy doesn't look like Bond to me. There's something lacking, I can't put a word on what it is exactly, but I just don't buy the whole thing.
It took me only one pic to be fully convinced by Craig as Bond while there's not a single shot I'm on board with here. And they could have put the guy in a tux or at least a suit in some scenes. There seems to be a dinner party in the game, and the man is dressed like a marketing student having a drink with his mates on friday night. I've nothing against casual wear, but Bond's lifestyle is supposed to be part of the magic, no matter whether he's younger or older.
I want to dream, and there's nothing here making me feel the character I love is back once and for all. I expect something much more appealing from Amazon about Bond 26, especially the actor.
Yeah I felt surprisingly mixed on it too. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it'll be a great game regardless with IOI at the helm, but my initial reaction was one of slight bemusement.
It looks like it's trying to be very hip and down with the kids, which may prove a good thing if they want to bring in the next generation. I just hope the films don't go in that direction because the appeal of Bond has always been that he's a seasoned pro. I mean, even in Casino Royale which was billed as an 'origin story' of sorts, he's still an experienced naval commander and crucially, an adult!
I just didn't get any Bond vibes from the character or world depicted here, even when they brought out the watch and Aston Martin. He comes across like a somewhat bland, rich posho kid on a gap year and there's not much intrigue going on in the frame. Still, it's one trailer so let's see what comes next!
I'm pretty on-board with it. They have to make it appeal to a younger audience. Some good action sequences. Good to see Omega in there. Lovely looking Bond girl.
I share every word you wrote ! That's exactly my feeling. This trailer shows how credible and impressive Craig was. He portrayed James Bond from the first shot of CR. This guy clearly doesn't to me. Once again, I know it's just a video game, but I sincerely hope we'll get something else than a mix between a young Jack Reacher and Ethan Hunt in Bond 26, otherwise, I'll fall into a deep depression.
I think a British version of young Jack Reacher/Ethan Hunt could be the way they go for Bond26. I'm still hoping for a more mature mid-late 30s actor though and not another origin hard reboot.
In that case, I think some of us will need a good psychiatrist. I don't think someone like ATJ is the best in town for such a role, but I clearly DON'T want to see a Tom Holland lookalike, which is the effect this trailer has on me.
😄 I felt the need for one or at least some kind of therapy with the ending of NTTD..! It can really have an affect on one's mood for a period when they do something we strongly disagree with or don't like. Of course we shouldn't let it bother us so much, but when we invest so much emotional energy into it all (and have to wait 5 years between films), it can impact..😔 Fingers crossed they choose someone the majority of us can accept, but if not to one's particular preference, at least produce a great Bond film..🤞
I think maybe it’s just an issue with the rendering. Maybe there’s an in-universe explanation for that notch on the front right. But it’s 100% supposed to be a PPK.
It's a redesigned one; it's got a square surround to the barrel where the PPK has a round one. It's not going to be a rendering issue, they won't have released an error like that. Maybe they couldn't/wouldn't get a licence from Walther and it's just something similar to a PPK.
Of course it is, but I'd have appreciated seeing Bond wearing a suit in order to have a stronger opinion about the credibility of this (too) young face. He clearly looks like Tom Cruise in the late 80s, which is not something I had in mind, even for a young version of Fleming's character.
Once again, I'm not saying IOI didn't work well, I'm sure they did, but I'd like to be sure this game has nothing to do with Amazon's creative vision for the franchise.
I was kinda on the fence while watching this until the DBS showed up and the OHMSS theme kicked in. This is now a Day One purchase for me when it eventually hits PC.

I am holding a PPK in my hand as I type this, and it also has a squared piece around the end of the barrel. This isn’t apparent when you look at pictures of one, but it’s quite obvious when you hold it. The edges are just too sharp in still from the game, making the front of the gun look more like a P5 than a PPK. What I don’t see on my gun is that cutout on the slide and those two notches on the bottom of the frame. Could be that they’ve “modified” the gun go take some kind of light/laser attachment. That would be unique—I’ve never see a PPK modded in that fashion.
The design of that muzzle area seems to change- the silver one on the right looks more curved than the black one bottom right to me; are there different designs? I don't know much about it. Certainly that black PPK is boxier at the front than I'd noticed before, you're right.
But I'd say the game gun, both of the ones on the top, is of a different design whilst obviously still trying to be as close as possible to a PPK. The rear part looks quite different, unless there's a PPK which has been redesigned to that shape, I don't know. The trigger guard is much squarer (it's flat at the bottom), the sides are chunkier and jut out more, even the screws in the grip have been relocated. It also looks like it has a solid trigger to me. It's the same general shape but all of the details are different, really.
Considering how exactly they've got the Seamaster chrono and the DBS I reckon they'd have got the PPK perfect if that was their aim: I think this just isn't a Walther- there's no Walther logo on it, after all! The skin for the golden version is called 'gilded wraith'; maybe the gun is called a Wraith in the game? Substituted for Walther?

Project 007 game coming to Nintendo Switch 2, whatever that is. No new details on the game.
Incredible that this November it will be five years since this game was announced.
Not to mention the fact it's the same ruddy trailer
007 First Light game reveal coming later this week.

I am excited for this game because IO interactive produced the Hitman games.
But nothing about that picture feels like EON's Bond or Fleming. The title is in the same generic league as the continuation novels and comics.
It's not the greatest title but then again, neither was 'Agent Under Fire', but the game was still great.

First look at our new Bond. He's got a new Omega watch and gun by the looks of it too. Patrick Gibson appears to be our new 007.
But he's driving Brett Sinclair's Aston.
Nazi Bond
That’s a PPK. And the facial scar! Also, great call on the DBS. Hopefully it’s not a mistake that gets scrubbed because I think it’s awesome.

He's wearing a white dinner jacket in a blink-and-miss-it shot; in terms of the character design, that is the actor's face.
I'm not a gun guy but it looks different to me. It's a different model of PPK to that he's previously used maybe?
Yes, I missed that, but we barely see him, which is not the smartest move when your goal is to sell...JAMES F***ING BOND 007.
About the actor, I'm just not convinced. I think someone like Harris DIckinson would have been much more credible.
I'm pretty on-board with it. They have to make it appeal to a younger audience. Some good action sequences. Good to see Omega in there. Lovely looking Bond girl.
Has an 'on point' Tom Holland vibe going on with the actor (Patrick Gibson) https://www.dexterdaily.com/2025/06/patrick-gibson-james-bond-007-first-light.html
Love the Bahama Yellow (?) DBS/V8. Giving me Lord Brett Sinclair vibes with that!😎
Was surprised to read it's not out until 2026. Think that's going to align with the momentum of the new film, which will surely be 2027 now.

I think the suit thing is a choice, they seem to want to sell him as a new version. Bond is 26 years old in this.

Maybe it's the return of the PP7 😁
Of course it is, but I'd have appreciated seeing Bond wearing a suit in order to have a stronger opinion about the credibility of this (too) young face. He clearly looks like Tom Cruise in the late 80s, which is not something I had in mind, even for a young version of Fleming's character.

Isn’t it remarkable that as soon you want to scream BOND to fans - you play the OHMSS theme 😏

Bring back 'Wolfram'!
Haha! Yeah, They absolutely should! That was a PP7 too wasn't it? Wolfram were in a few games?
