I've mentioned Stone Town in Zanzibar before, but I think this is the type of location Bond should thrive on. "Everyone" hasn't been there yet, and the place is stunning and exotic.
Apparently the doors in Stone Town are a sight to be seen.
Or is this "should've been past Bond locations"? I mean, how could the MR location managers miss Hotel Jested (apart from the fact that it was in communist Czechoslovakia)?
Here are the countries and regions I most want to see as Bond locations:
- India. I'm sure the country has far more to offer than what we saw in OP, a movie that was made over forty years ago.
- The Arctic or Antarctica. Finding places where very few has been is much harder now than in the 60's, but these places are still exotic to almost everyone.
- Africa south of the Sahara. Rarely visited by people from the rest of the world and very under-used in movies. Exotic and exciting.
- Georgia. Not the US state, but the small country in the Caucasus. Very beautiful and as far as I know unused in big movies.
- A major city covered in snow. A city in one of the Nordic countries or Canada perhaps?
- Norway. No surprise there. Especially the fjords on the west coast.
India is the one that comes to my mind quite often too when this question is raised: proper modern India rather than the tourist version in OP. It's such an important country it's not hard to imagine espionage going down there.
It's time for Bond to ski again and of course spend time in front of the fireplace with a beautiful woman in a luxurious cabin. this type of cabin would be perfect!
I think it's time I promoted the region of Norway my mother's from - Vesterålen. It's not as well known as the neighbouring island archipelago Lofoten, but many think it's at least as photogenic. After so many scenes shot in Turkey and italy north is the way to go!
The photo below was taken at night.

Certainly looks beautiful…but do they give tax incentives for filming…? You know how much Eon loves a tax break 👀🤣
Yes, Norway does. Until a few years ago the system seemed to be: "If you want to film in the county it's your own fault, why don't you call up Scottland or Iceland instead?" Now the incentives are better (but not as good as for example iceland) and Bond, Black Widow, Dune and Mission Impossible has filmed around here.
It's getting harder to find truly exotic locations, but I found one in Time magazine. Wishaway Camp is the only hotel in Antartica. It consists of five designer sleeping pods, a 5 star cuisine and it's own air strip. Perfect for Bond! It could be made even more luxurous and buildt as a set in Canada or some place, but the concept is perfect for a Bond movie.
I'm watching the first episode of "Michael Palin in Nigeria". His travel documentaries are always high value. Nigeria is about to become one of the most popolus countries in the world, and Laos is about to become one of the biggest cities in the world. The place seems colourful, dangerous, exotic and full of life. I think Nigeria, Laos and Makoko are the type of places Bond should visit in the future instead of visiting Istanbul and Switzerland for the umpteenth time.
I've mentioned the Trollstigen road as a great candidate for a Bond location. Right now there is work being done to make the road safer from rocks falling into the road, and the photos show how perfect the road is for a spectacular action scene:
Now that Bond26 has access to the very deep pockets of Amazon I hope an oil field at sea can be one of the locations. The possibilities for action are almost endless and it would be a spectacular location. We know DAF had scenes on an oil rig, but I found those scenes underwhelming. I think great things can be done using CGI, models, a rented active oil rig and/or a decommissioned oil rig.
Yes, I liek this idea. Oil rigs played a big part in several 70s movies and have tended to take a back seat. A decommissioned oil rig for a secret cyber / research / biochem centre would work well.
I'd like it to be a active oil rig, with plenty of risk of fires and explosions! I know there are movies like DAF and RM's "Ffolks" that happens (partly) on an oil rig, but I don't know of any with the budget and modern special effects Bond26 has access to.
I've mentioned several times that I'd like to see locations in Africa south of Sahara in future Bond movies. It's overdue. I've also mentioned Lagos (population 21 million), the largest in Nigeria and especially the floating slum Makoko. Venize is beautiful, but this is a floating town with lots of life, colour and canals that few people from the outside has heard of, let alone visited.
Imagine a car chase starting in the modern and oil-rich city center:
For some reason the chase switches to small and fast boats and goes into Makoko. This is a place that's full of people who aren't tourists,a living community with shops, schools and homes. This is a new sort of exotic location for the Bond movies. Here's a great drone video:
I think so. It would be both Bondian with echoes of Venice, the TWINE PTS chase and the boat chase in LALD, but also new and fresh. I imagine a villain being chased by Bond in cars from the city center to the highway we see in the video. Then the villain's car end up in the water, Bond jumps after him and they both get hold of a fast boat. Then we get a chase through the canals of Makoko. Should be great!

The hotel would've been the perfect lair for Hugo Drax, don't you think?

Would love to see Bond back on the slopes or doing some climbing in Norway. It's such a beautifully picturesque country.
Absolutely! Imagine a ski chase scene down a steep mountain to the fjord below - at night under the midnight sun!
These people are ready to ski, and it's really night!

2) New Zealand
3) Spain (Madrid or Toledo)

That's a lot of glass and some very nice cars
