Regarding the Massimo Alba suit, I don't like it at all. In the Mr Porter pictures the suit jacket looks too short. Close ups of the corduroy fabric do it no favors either.
Maybe it will look better on film, but it's a piece of clothing I have no interest in owning.
So far my Bond 25 outlay has consisted of Croakies, a water bottle, and a pair of flip flops.
With some hesitation I just returned the pair of Vuarnet Edge 1613 sunglasses I ordered.
For those of you just tuning in, the make and model have been tentatively identified as ones Bond will wear in a "Norway" scene. David Z has the full story here:
As David says, the sunglasses will not be for everyone — including me. I desperately wanted to love them. I have a large face so I guessed that they might work on me, but sadly, no. I realized I would be too self-conscious to wear them.
What makes this decision painful is that I honestly think they would have been the best driving glasses I ever had. The lens is fantastic and the "cups" around the outside of the eyes really seemed inspired.
I have already purchased — and wear almost daily — the Vuarnets from the Jamaica scenes. This has been another great reminder of the difference between sunglasses made a company specializing in eye protection (e.g. Vuarnet) and a fashion brand (e.g. TF). The latter may look great, but there's a world of difference in terms of performance in the real world.
So Massimo Alba suit arrived. It’s size 52 and I’m normally a 50, so slightly large and probably adds to boxy look. In any event, think you might need a very good physique under the jacket, to make this look decent.
It’s a casual unstructured suit. Material is light weight, so for example the SPECTRE BC Morocco trousers are a heavier cloth.
Some photos below of suit (return labels still attached on lapel) with Drakes Crosby Mocs and an attempt at the blue shirt/ tie combo. (No idea whether shirt collar is button down, but closest colour I have.)
Let’s hope DC does not button the top button hole as in last photo and as stunt man did on the bridge.
Usual issues with photographs and colours of fabrics, so it can look quite different depending on exposure.
Those who have bought the separate jacket: cut, colour code, all other codes the same, just described as model CATCH, instead of the suit which is described as SLOOP.
My conclusion: it’s not an item I would buy without the Bond connection. Colour will work for DC, as with SPECTRE matchless jacket, but not great for me. As a heavily discounted sale item purchase, I’ll keep the 52 and have it tailored (shoulders are 18 inch across which is a standard 50 measurement, even if bulky elsewhere, so should be relatively easy to get fit sorted). Still question though, whether it will look any good on me!
It makes you wonder what the proper fit and additional tailoring will do to make this look good on Craig.
Looking back, I think there were lots of outfits we would have disdained if we hadn’t see Craig wearing them first. The Enjoying Death costume, the Solden outfit. Even the Miami airport outfit from CR. If we’d seen a stuntman in any of those clothes, would we have said, Hell, yeah”?

So far I'm breathing a sigh of relief with the clothing as I don't really wear suits anymore , so this one and the TF lot not really fused.
Pleased with the TF jeans as I'll wear them to death, love the sperrys and sunglasses, just awaiting the SA TB shirt.
Interested to see the Tshirt and shorts.
Hoping for some casual gear really , polo shirt and evening type shirt and maybe a new jumper from the scottish scenes.
who knows.
Omega one will have to be amazing for me to get my 4th !

My first thoughts about the outfit were I rather like it and the shirt and tie go nicely with the suit but the shoes could have been better, but I don't know, they're now growing on me a little bit...
Those boots aren't the ones the stunt man wore. Maybe Craig's personal shoes, getting from one place to another to film?

And the tie looks blue or black in this image, not the burgundy we've seen with the stunt man. Then again, the light isn't great.

Latest pics off Instagram show the suit is pale grey check looks like linen mix and the cream or pale grey chukka boots he has been seen wearing around town.

This seems more like a casual outfit to suit the scene - touring around the country / Italy kind of thing with Swann where they left off from Spectre.
Anyhow I think we are only a few days away from Bond on set so we will see

Much nicer than the Massimo Alba suit.
