Kirk also sometimes uses an old Connery suggestion with women. ;)

But wait- this is the RANT Box... to stay on topic then:

Know what? I hate the Kirk's Son thing. It's the one thing I really dislike about 2. And how they got rid of him in 3. I ignore David Marcus. I pretend he's just a friend's Son or something. :s

Here's my Trek character pissy. - They bumped off Capt Picard's relatives in Generations. Its a massive cliche in the Trek Prime universe that really annoys me. Thankfully they readdressed the balance by establishing then adding to the Sisko family. Good.

And what the hell are the K'Tarians and Terrelians / Teyrellians / Tarelians?!

Glad Bond doesn't have this kind of nonsense. Except for Q and MPenny/EMP, everyone he knows ends up maimed or dead anyway!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Poor old Kirk got the crappiest death in that. Instead of the grand heroic
Warriors death he should have had !
( until the Romulans cloned him, of course ) ;)

If you need an example of how to totally f*ck up your reputation, simply
Follow " Thomas Cook" and how they have handled the tragic case of the death
Of the two kids in Corfu. X-(

I'd say their very late apology, has more to do with the hit their share price is taking.

No Amount of Money would ever be able to bring back your Children :(

Even if you were given £10 Million in Compensation, if would never fill in the tragic Gap that would now be in your Life's.

The company should have apologised from the start, shown a little
Compassion to the parents, and after the company got £3 million in
compensation, they might have asked the parents to which charity
of their choice they could make the £1.5 million donation ( they were
Keeping the rest for administration reasons) 8-)
I think this may be Thomas Cooks, Gerald Ratner moment. :#

I agree that Thomas Cook behaved very badly in this Corfu case. I would say that the family should have had first refusal on the compensation money, either for themselves or a charitable trust they may have wanted to set up in the names of their late children. Not that the money could have ever brought their children back but that and a sincere early apology would have restored their faith somewhat in human decency I feel. I would certainly not recommend them as a travel agent and hope that they are somewhat damaged by their scandalous conduct towards this grieving family.

Iknow we have all castigated Thom Cook ,but I can assure you ,they are only acting under direction from their bastard lawyers ,

Well, indeed that is true. The company's lawyers did tell its staff not to incriminate themselves by answering certain questions in the court in Corfu.

The company has its own in-house lawyers (like all major corporates) who would have advised them. I don't think they could hide behind "we're only doing what our lawyers tell us".

Well they did still have the legal right not to incriminate themselves or their company and their lawyers advised them to follow this course of action of course as has been already made clear in the public domain. So, you could say that that was exactly what they successfully hid behind.
