out of curiosity i sent baron's an email saying i had a special fabric i'd like made into a short sleeve button down shirt. they sent me an address to send the fabric and this was there price.....

"Tailoring charge is $20 per shirt and shipping is $38 for two shirts."

    I'm still very much in.

    Depending on final price...

To be honest, I couldn't give a monkey's if it's made by the same tailor. As long as it's cut right and looks right, I'll buy one (or two).

Well I'm Dobald Grant, not Donald Trump, just an over worked and under paid civil servant, but I'd still like a shirt or perhaps two. But don't hurt me too bad. As for profits and such, the Connery and Brosnan busts that I had commissioned were not intended to be money makers, but rather the idea was for the sales to pay for the commission over time. Although they are not as hot as they once were, I still sell one every now and again. They were items that I wanted so I stepped up to the plate. Some people think the price for the busts are too high, but it's nothing compared to what I paid. A few discerning collectors got lucky because I did step up to the plate. So step up to the plate. If you build it they will come.

I agree. As long as it is a close approximation to the original, another tailor doing it is fine with me, especially if it makes it more affordable.

Anyone willing to share the price per yard for the fabric?

Baron's has a great price for the tailoring and the fit looks the same..it's the same cut as "Men's Linen Cotton Shirt" but short sleeve.

Mantis, if you want to PM me and i'll fill you in on details about Barons deal.

Mantis - count me in. My two cents is if the fabric and cut match it doesn'e matter to me if the tailor is exactly the same tailor. Interested nonetheless. Cheers.

Greetings, colleagues in the 00 section. I bought my Casino Royale/007 loving, clothes horse husband the J. Peterman 'Uncommon Tropical Shirt" which is on the J Peterman site in the last chance men's section. The colours aren't accurate, sleeves need to be cut, and it isn't exact, but it is decently close to the pattern, and it's all cotton. For those agents who can't afford the real thing because Le Chiffre cleaned them out at poker you might want to take a look at it fast as sizes are running out. Be sure to read the description of it, mentions baccarat..and the stories the site gives concerning their pieces are very Fleming-007ish, and enjoyable to read. Accurate? Who knows..

I logged on to that Barons Boutique that someone mentioned on here and they are on the case too but have had no luck. However they do believe the shirt fabric is all COTTON.

I'm sure an update will be forthcoming soon. Paul doesn't want to 'press' the contact too much in case we P her off royally, and then we get nothing. We are asking an enormous favour here from them, which will not mean alot of profit and be more hassle than it's worth for them. Gentle cooing and, well, begging is whats happening ;)

No problem on the new thread.
I'll close this one down and let it continue anew on the quoted thread.
