The holes you talked of in an earlier post were ones on the barrel, I didn't say that no holes were on the cigarette case 8-) if you have studied this prop for 15years you would know it like a map.

I would also agree that it is the same GG in the B&W photo, so what is your point? how would this prove it is the one made by colibri?

    more on the holes.

I was recently told by an expert that these are shadows: However, I found additional photos listed below that also have these strange spots on the bottom of the cigarette case, I'm not saying its holes, they could very well be shadows, even scuff marks. The thing I find strange is that they appear in the same spot in two different photos not to mention different lighting.

This picture was pulled from a book highlighting the various props and I have pointed out these 2 questionable places.

    golden_gun_and_plane_car.jpg

This next picture is from a much later photo notice that the spots have not moved and are still there.

    exibition_3_copy.jpg

Again Im just posting what I observed as far as my research has gone. None of my postings are definite just speculations.

studied it for 15 years yes but what I list is all based on speculation and photos. I've never seen the actual prop before in person and I'm just listing my findings and my ideas. I'm not trying to make any point. I don't have proof that Colibri made any of the guns I have listed and i am not trying to prove it. the photo with the karate sister posing was just to say that in at least one photo it "looks" like the Peter Nelson gun was used that's all. I just list my ideas and theories and findings and then say what I believe :D. Y'all are the ones that are saying rather its right or wrong for me ;) . I can easily spot a fake when it comes down to the actual prop in a museum or photo and I know it like the back of my hand visually but I was not around for the guns whole history and weeding through the stuff is not easy :P so I'm missing a lot of gaps that might just remain a mystery. ?:)

Studied, researched the Golden Gun for 15yrs and not until recently you have found AJB, and NOT until NOW you come and ask peoples opinion about your findings? Sorry, but sounds pretty weird to me.... Seriously IF you had studied the Golden Gun for 15yrs, you'd know it like a map, like Pete stated earlier. You have provided some good points, but let's face it - you have registered here last year or so, and all of the sudden you start posting multiple posts regarding the Golden Gun, it sounds more like that you have a deadline or something and now you're gathering final evidence to complete your task or whatever you are doing. 8-) ?:)

    And hey despite your superiors might be good at their work and getting approvals, i have my doubts they get approval from EON, to write article, book etc. I think if they wanted to do so, they'd hire someone to do it -{

    Anyway, good luck with your work in progress, i'll hope you find enlightenment regarding this matter -{

Is the aim to gather enough information on the golden gun to write an article or chapter for a book, or to make a screen accurate replica?

no, the information I post is simply personal questions, ideas, and theories gathered by repeat watching and the study of film and at photos because of my love for James bond. The article I'm writing is on props as a creative art form which highlights the gun as such, none of the information that I have listed on is going in the article. Only the basic facts and if its approved but from what I've heard that's not likely. As for making a screen accurate gun I would like to and In the past I have thought of making a screen accurate reproduction on my own but did not know if its even legal to do it, so I've never tried. :# As for a deadline yes this is a break in which I have the first part of summer to solve issues and questions I've always had as well as gather what I can for a article (kind of killing two birds with one stone), after summer, its back to work for the museums and restorations where my focus will be on the job at hand and ill have little time for anything else.

Before this I was in collage and grad school working for my career. only about a year ago did I get my first personal computer, That's when I started to compile my work and compare what I had gathered from the 14 years prior and that's why now I'm just starting to list things. :D

WOW!!!!!!!!! and you know it takes alot for me to say that
when it comes to the Golden Gun.... After reading through all
of this I was thinking of loading my Working Golden Gun with
a Live round and use the pen as a tooth pick and press the
Cuff Link Down... HARD!...... and just see how things played
    out :)) :)) :)) :)) :007)

Jeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz... What Can I say - I have not been
on the forums for a while, been very busy of late, I checked in
last week on here and all was quiet, nice and calm, easy does it....
A meditation trick, I learned from the Great Bond Guru ''Danjaq Off''
and The Holy Monk Who Lives in a Secret Temple under MI6 in
London known only as ''Minigeff'' This method of Meditation should
    be practiced at all times on AJB007.CO.UK !!!!!!!!!!!!! :)) :)) :))
when it comes to anything to do with The Golden Gun

In fact AJB007 should issue a health warning on its Home Page

Sumner - The Guys on here are a great bunch, very knowledgable
and always willing to help out and point you in the right direction,
Maybe just ease up on the size of the posts and the level of the
request - like many have stated its a public Forum and some info etc
can't be posted up or shared due to that fact, The guys on here do
like a good bit of banter and its all in good taste and fun :007)

my best advice is to follow whats been suggested, maybe meet up
with some of the guys and do some first Hand Research see where
it leads.... You Don't want to go down a ranting road when it comes
to The Golden Gun ..... :)) beleive me.... I know

P.S. the info you Quoted regarding the Balsa Wood Gun - sounded as
if it was taken from info I posted up in a review of a Bond event back
in 2008 - Bond Stars TSWLM reunion - I met Peter Lamont and spoke
to him at great length reagarding the Golden Gun - So I beleive what
he told me. But another thing to bear in mind is that behind the scenes
prop makers on films, Production Designers, SFX guys they have worked
on Hundreds of Films over the years, and Info can be passed on, memories
fade, information gets passed down through the years like Chinese
Whispers and before you know it a claim wiill Come Out That it was In Fact
a Zippo Lighter that Made Up The Golden Guns Bullet Chamber! 8-)

Anyway in closing I would say - take on board the advice the guys on here
are speaking, you will be much better for it in the long run and hopefully
make good contacts in fellow Forum members

lmao, i prefer johnny and jane tales.

ask for 'getting me to do stuff', there's no real way i'm afraid, unless of course theres a decent incentive as i'm a bit of a whore.

yes, i might being doing a MR camera, but when is another story. so much to do, so little time.

oh and the argie one, along with all of their stuff is utter cockrot. they brought out a smashed up QoS DBS model (wonder where they got that idea) and it was gash, and their TB breather is so inaccurate they may as well label it up from another film. the Aston key is awful and their other stuff is total sh1t.

they can't fight wars either, poor goons. they'll do crap at the olymipics too.

    Sumner.

I would listen to all advice and trust these guys implicitly.

    They know their onions.

I now have an archive of photos videos and plans of the gun.

I also have an original gold colibri molectric 88 that was scaled up, and the writing gold waterman pen, which was smaller in diameter, and has a rounded square end (i.e. does not match the round barrel on the assembled screen guns).

Drop me a line if you want to share resources and photos etc. Or jave a look at my previous threads.

Im still slowly procuring parts and materials to try and get one fabricated. 30th birthday coming up next month, so some more wonga for bits!

Thanks again to those that have assisted thus far. Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Skyfall. Trailers look amazing!

    Hi, Summer:

I'm excited to see you as an enthusiastic props hunter here! This thread has been enlightening (en-golden-ing?) and a fun read.

I can call myself a Bond expert. I've appeared on TV internationally, have run numerous fan events and have appeared in everything from Time and Time Europe to Ripley's Believe Or It Not. I've worked with five of six James Bonds. I've helped author Bond books, CDs, videos, etc. I've collected Bond and Flemingiana for nearly 35 years...

Having [humbly!] introduced myself, let me share with you--many of the readers on this forum know props, and know them better than I. This is a great place to kick around some ideas.

The official Bond chroniclers have very long relationships with Eon. Some of them have been involved with Eon personally by invitation of the producers since their teens. Typically that is how the relationship begins--Eon invites you and not vice versa. Actually, I can't think of a single official anything/anyone that invited themselves to Eon.

You might be able to do an official prop book or you would be able to do an unofficial props book by quoting the films in brief excerpts as fair use and using non-copyright photos (off screen, AP/UPI, behind-the-scenes photos) although there will likely be a limited readership for an unofficial work. Not sure completely, movie props are growing in popularity.

I'm happy to help if you want to send a private inquiry. Regarding the Golden Gun, there are experts on this thread beyond me, though.

Many of us make props and sometimes there is sensitivity regarding having our work duplicated for public consumption when it is to be held privately and discreetly. Some of us also guard our personal contacts. I've asked friends for endorsements for my work and others at times and I'm happy to help. I can tell you how to approach Christopher Lee, for example.

Keep smiling, everyone here is likewise enthusiastic and happy to help. Good luck with your project and thanks for the desire to share your art and what you've learned with us fellow fans.
