Yep we get about a dozen typhoons a year throughout the country.

Anyway it's breakfast time here now and I've been up most of the night watching Champions League football on the TV so a quick Irish coffee please TP and I'm off for a nap :)) .
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

The rain is back again in NI after the really good spell we've had for the last few weeks. :#

Oddly enough, most rain passes us by ( Falling on Scotland)

Very true. Large coffee please, landlord, I'm hoping for a nice quiet restful day today.

That looks like a very nice town to visit Number 24 ,but im sure you don't go there for the sunshine ,
I would imagine the sea food there is 2nd to none :)
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,886MI6 Agent
You are both right, of course :007) Norway has always been known for its fine cuisine (even more so than England) and Ålesund looks a lot like a town on the long Austrian coastline .....
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
It's nice to know, if the Bond crew want to film in Norway.
    Austria always has a substitute. ;) :))

I thought I had pestered everyone in this forum posting my opinion that Norway would have been a better choice than Austria? If not I'll be happy to do it again :))

To answer AS' question more seriously: I have never eaten at a restaurant in Ålesund, but I believe there is at least one restaurant where it's possible to bring a fishing rod and fish from the window! Fishing is great here, but I seldom do.
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
:)) That sounds wonderful, fishing from the restaurant window. Then
have them cook your catch. {[]

Ålesund was a centre of the illegal boat refugee route during WWII (let's not forget today is not the first time Europe had boat refugees).
In fact Ålesund was referred to as "Little London" for this reason. One party of refugees were even naive enough to visit the town's police station to ask where they could find tpe next boat bound for England! Many Norwegian policemen were far too loyal to the authorities, but luckily the officer they met was more loyal to doing what was right and the refugees were put in touch With the right people :)

Only four days to go. {[] and I can cross Spectre of my list, and I can
Once again say that I've seen every Bond film ! :))
Before going to the cinema, I'm going to have some Mexican food
for my tea, to add to the Pre Title atmosphere.

A large very strong tea with a bacon butty please Pussy. I have just been in the "Why can't Eon hire decent writers" thread.

By the way, I have ordered those new lithium batteries for that Cylon on the wall. Each one will keep it going for days, are you sure about this?

:)) There are three members here I have little time for, so I'll avoid
Their threads.Except for on occasion, making a jibe to burst their
Self appointed, pompous backsides ! ;) I guess I'm just too positive
    a person. :D
I wish some of those who criticize, would give us a few examples of their
Writing skills etc. It would be very interesting to see, as the old saying goes
    Those that can. DO
    Those that have. TEACH
Those that can't. CRITICIZE ! :)) which is very true. ;)

Have a drink on me, landlord- I would say your pleasure, but I know the kind of response you'd give!- and cheer up, things will settle down to their usual level of insanity soon enough.

Thanks Barbel I'll see it a double for both of you.

I have a new past time to add to the pubs services. It does involve hot air, but the productive kind. Victoria sponge, or Madeira cake? :)

If you mean the cakes, it's early days so focusing on firm but succulent sponges. Muffins next!

    I like this Scottish version.

"'I can see!' Said the blind man.
    'Havers! Said the deaf man.
The man with no legs walked away in disgust."

It seems appropriate for some of the odd ball topics we have had recently.
