Madame Vesper - Pussy gave me permission to theme the beer garden. Hence the honour statues of Desmond Llewelyn, Lois Maxwell and Bernard Lee as their characters, little details like a Goldfinger Fort Knox Sundial, the Drax formal garden bushes and waterfall, which runs into the Spectre rock pool with the Piranhas. Of course, with a huge black jaguar sized cat as Holly is, the inevitable happened! So plan B, the Siamese Fighting fish. They catch the sunlight well.
The giant pine tree was our christmas tree gift from 24 two years ago. In gratitude for the fact he provided one with the roots, I planted it and we kept it. Its called the Zero-Zero tree, to match its benefactor as well as the garden!

The Trafalgar Square three is a thank you from the population of Oslo for Britain's help and support during WWII. I haven't decided what this three should make us remember and be thankfull for. Any suggestions?

Very much so 24! Looks spectacular with the DAF crystal fairy lights on it at Christmas.
I love it at this time of year too, its nice to sit under it in the shade of the sun when I get a break from cleaning up mess inside.

When I see Craig, I remember XXXX, Bielski and 007.
Sure, he may be remembered for those trousers but he was so much more.
Same way McQueen is remembered for a dark green Mustang and Baracuta G9.
Or Sir Roger with his safari jackets.
Or Bogart for his fedora and ivory dinner jacket.
The list goes on. "It's all a matter of perspective."

Personally I think the Craig legacy will be 'character self indulgence.' Also known as the woe of Bond. CR-06 is brilliant from start to finish, but Vesper is the driving factor of the latter portion of the story. QoS was a spectacular mess by the way it was put together, but it essentially carrys Bond's baggage re Vesper.
Skyfall adds M-Mansf to the equation, its a film about her. It actually makes a bit of a change and Silva is interesting within that. Spectre is old ground retrod and Blofeld is arch, flat and disinteresting because it has all been done before.
The one thing all this does? Gives us the idea that Bond is a tragedy character. Through the Craig films, everyone and everything important to him is destroyed or ripped away, and Foster and Mendes's self indulgent directing combined with atrocious writing seen in SF and SP will cite all of it as a brooding mood too far...

There was an obvious change of tone with Spectre. Lots more humour, a more traditional henchman,
spectre meeting etc, but then they couldn't help themselves ...... by once again cramming in a "personal
angle " with Blofeld.
I would have much prefered a build up to who Blofeld was with a big reveal at the end , to set them up
for the next film.

One 'Latte on a diet' M'Lady. I'm sorry to say the crumbs in Holly's bowl are the traces of the last Pain aux raisin. She does like to play with her food!
We do have some Pain of Chocolat though?
Re QoS, M and I have discussed this at length.
The film has grown on me from a story perspective. It has only two mistakes. Firstly saying Bond wants revenge for the attack on M-Mansf. It should be about his anger and sorrow for Vesper, so that chat with Cammile on the plane goes against the rest of the character motovation. It creates the idea the whole story relates to M-Mansf.
Secondly, Gemma Arterton is one of the best actresses of her generation and she is criminally underused. Not one action scene for a start!
That awful editing though hides the action sequences and hurts the flown of what otherwise is a good story. A few minus points for MI-6 As Apple too.
Pussy - the humour in SP feels forced. CR-06 has funny moments 'stop touching your ear!' 'Security to the car park / gutten amend!' 'Can I put you on hold? / I had anfeelingnyou might'. 'Does it look like we need the money?' All slightly different, all genuinely funny. The ones in SP feel slotted in, staged or predictable. The one saving grace for me is Lea Seydoux in that dress! Which itself repeats Eva Greene in Vesper's purple number. Hinx should be amazing, but he is underused and written out too soon. A sharp contrast to Oddjob, Jaws, and Onnatopp.
My personal take is that Daniel Craig is Lazendy Dalton and Brosnan condenced. His first film was an exceptional one like Lazenby and Brosnan, he shattered the character expectations in film and book in the right way, like Dalton. But also like Brosnan (who was refused character woe) he is a brilliant actor suffering from writing that is beneath him. Just like Peter Cappaldi's Dr Who.

Turns out I'm moving to the UK for six months next year for a University Exchange.
Pretty excited about this. Was wondering if you all had suggestions for the best things to do.
