How much do you normally get for Gigs?

There's no set figure. You negotiate with each venue individually. I suppose the accurate answer would be "as much as they're willing to pay" but other factors have to be considered, eg distance, and whether it's a one-off or a regular booking.

I used to be in a Band, we recorded a five Song Demo but I left before we were supposed to do a small Tour :#

It's funny, we produced 30 Copies of our Demo onto blank CDR and sold them at College and at our Gigs. We were due to Tour with another Band we were mates with but I stupidly decided to leave it there. The Band then went onto play in France, Germany, ect. Next Year they are going to be in the States :#

We've been asked twice to play in Germany, but don't want to trust our instruments to the airlines (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo)!

Do you get a wobbly haze and the sound of a harp being played when
You think tat far back ? :))
Just think in a parallel world, you stayed in the band toured the world, became a huge
Success. Up to your neck in money, fame and women ! ... Now would you really
    Want that ? :D

Oh there's times I miss it too. I always enjoyed performing, I'm not
Saying I was great or anything, but I enjoyed playing and singing.
It was fantastic when you got the crowd going and the room was alive
With fun, laughter, music. {[] only really get a little down about it
Watching Jools Holland's show on New Years eve, as I'd really love to
    Be playing guitar somewhere. :))
As a middle road I've often thought of doing some of my magic for local
Charity events, not the same as singing, gut I could do a very good " down market"
Derren Brown act, as I've always loved mental, mind reading magic. Which I think
Would be a bit different for some local events as there are plenty of Bands and singers
but much fewer " Novelty " acts. :))

Yes, very strange as when I went pack to finds the pub it wasn't there. Must have been one of those time slips but that's for another thread... :))
