I was playing around with a new flash I scored on Prime Day. Decided I'd try and recreate one of my favorite Bond photos. I missed on a photography level because, without a proper backdrop, I wasn't getting the right levels. This on top of self-portraiture being a difficult pain in the ass regardless. But I made due. Added a kicker flash.

    What I was aiming for:

    What I got:

Wearing my midnight TF dinner jacket, S.T. Dupont 5172 links, QoS Omega PO, Turnbull & Asser shirt, and C&J Highburys (out of frame). Forgive the terrible bowtie tie.

Bloddy Hell! Its finally happened... someone has redone a Bond style poster and done it even better.
Sexy as hell, and actually more effective than the original. Oh and the bow shouldn't be 100% symetrical, highlights its a true bow. :007)

We need a bald Bond. I'll stop Bababbling now.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I blush, I blush. And I'm really glad someone appreciates the lensing. Thanks. All of my photos are an excuse to tinker with lighting, honestly.

  • Hi all— I’m new here. I’ve been a longtime Bond fan but never really considered that I could afford to to replicate the look without breaking the bank or settling for cheap knock offs. What a realization this site has been.
Over the past couple months, I’ve added a few Bond staples to the wardrobe including the Royale Harrington, the RGT supply jacket, and a very cool NATO strap for my Seiko Sea Urchin. Here’s a pic to inaugurate my descent into the Bond style with my new Madagascar shirt, appropriately timed for the seasonally warm temperatures here in Florida.

Is that the Magnoli shirt? Looks great.
  • Thanks! This is Royale’s most recent run. Big fan. Nice light material, comfortably sized but still fitted. Now if only I could get my hands on some Jack Purcell OTRs...

If you don't mind me asking, roughly what height/chest are you? And what size is the shirt? Thank you!
  • Sure thing. I’m about 6’1, 170 lbs, chest is about 40”. The medium shirt is really roomy if you choose not to shrink it. It felt like a loose large but a 15 minute dry on low shrank it to the fit you see there. I typically am on the border of medium and large, depending on the fit, but with this one I’m very glad I didn’t go large.

Great, thanks very much. This will be really helpful for my own purchase!

The Polar Express is here but no sign of a train or Tom Hanks

Still time to break out the best jacket ever. BC cap & jacket. Dents. Waxed Crockett & Jones. Lunar A5. R&B Henley. Almost all DC and little Bond.

A bit of a Solden/Craig “photo shoot” look for a snowy walk along the Hudson River in New York today. The Danners perform amazingly well!
