I received Luigi's email this afternoon. He asked to pay the money before the 15th of March. I paid the money immediately by bank transfer.

I am looking forward to the 3 TF Skyfall ties. Many thanks to Mark and Luigi for this great project!

This is awesome. BTW how did we find out the tie was 7cm? I thought usually Tom Ford tie was 8cm+. I hope its correct.

Luigi's initial email on 2/26 indicated that the ties will be 7cm's as they were in Skyfall.

If I remember correctly, we tried a year or two ago and they didn’t have all the fabrics.

I've never seen Tom Ford sell ties as skinny as the Skyfall ones.

True, but they didn't have the fabrics this time either. The fabrics had to be remade, which determined the minimum order number needed for each tie.

I was planning on replying with that as well but looking back on this thread's post I can't figure out if the fabric was remade or TF's fabric suppliers still had some available. Posts 173 and 176???

Obviously the fabrics needed to be woven into the correct patterns, but I guess the question is whether the underlying silk in the correct colors was available.

Ah okay, that makes sense. You've definitely taught me something about tie production! I've just assumed when "fabric" has been mentioned here that it means the completed patterned material, not the individual threads that make it up. Also thought that TF just goes to their fabric supplier, picks an already designed and woven pattern then takes it back to their factory to be made into the tie...but considering it in retrospect of course all that's not the case—shows how much I know about all the BTS stuff :))

Depending on this projects success and ease of completion. The qos tie project has been mentioned already and we'll see once this is complete

    Guys
Can we keep this to the current project for now...
To close the qos tie talk, it has been mentioned in my conversations with Luigi. It would be a while off, later this year and the thinking was limited to 3 tie patterns. Any possible but any more logistically too hard. If and when we get to that stage we can decide which 3 then.
Bolivia, Greene party and a other (between pts, London, kazan)
