Henry Cavill for me. I had a go at making a poster that gives us an OHMSS feel. I think we need a real classic Bond style. This was hinted at with Spectre.
Looks like a lot of the names that have been put forward for the new Bond are out of the frame - Paapa Essiedu has been cast as Severius Snape in the new Harry Potter series so that should keep him occupied for about 8 years, Paul Mescal, Harris Dickenson and Barry Keoghan are signed up for the 4 films about the Beetles so can't see them fitting Bond in. Couldn't see any of them as Bond but the new Bond might not be anything like the old Bond so who knows.
For the moment, it's too soon to make predictions about the new actor. I'm currently waiting for Cuaron to be confirmed...or not. The choice will depend on what the producers and the director intend to do with the franchise. Back in 2005, we knew from February Campbell would direct the film, but Craig was announced in...October. I don't believe in any casting announcement in 2025. Those things take time.
One thing I’ve been wondering is if they have to get permission/licence to use his name, as it does seem to be a trademark belonging to the estate. I’m sure it’s all agreed but I just wonder if there has to be anything formal.
At a guess, a formal arrangement was made between Fleming/Glidrose/IFP and Danjaq/Eon (take your pick) but whether that still holds with Amazon I have no idea.
I've made up my mind. I think Nicholas Hoult is the best James Bond candidate I'm aware of today. He's British, athletic, a really good actor, tall and male. He's a well known actor, but not a big star yet in the sense that he hasn't been the lead of big-budget movies. He's handsome and at 35 he finally looks like a grown man and not a twenty year old. He is a race car driver and he boxes, so I think he can do some of his own stunts. While there are other good candidates who I'd happily see get the role, I think Hoult is the best one!
I agree and have also lauded his credentials. He's starting to mature nicely and is probably still five years off looking his absolute best, so would looks great throughout his tenure.
The Citadel should have been Madden's audition for Bond but didn't work out that way. Having said that it squandered the talents of a lot of good actors mainly Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville so I think he deserves a another chance. He has the right looks and can handle the action scenes. Tom Cruise is only 4 foot tall and it hasn't stopped him being Ethan Hunt 😁
Some say height doesn't matter that much. Look at Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig. but the truth is that film makers often go to a lot of trouble to make actors look taller than they are. This my point that some actors can be action heroes in spite of their moderate height, but it does matter and it does create issues for the cast and crew. Just look at this video:
They surely can do a good job of faking height in movies (they have been doing it for years). Although some people just naturally appear taller and some shorter than they really are depending on body type/physical build. For example, Tom Cruise despite any trickery never appears to be tall. Andrew Garfield on the other hand, who I always assumed was at least 6' or 6'1" is only really 5"10".

Jordan Patrick smith could be a good choice imo
He's to be He-Man, so he has his own franchise already.

Nice work. I hope Ian Fleming still gets a credit in the real one.
Very good!
You would think Amazon MUST reference Ian Fleming on the posters and movies…you hope 🤞🏻
There’s no doubt Amazon will reference Ian Fleming in the title sequence, and I think they may well go back to Maurice Binder style titles too.

There's always something formal about the point of a pistol.

I still think Richard Madden would be an excelent choice
Madden's height and range as an actor is significantly more limited than Nicholas Hoult's.
One thing that I wish was better with Hoult is his voice. He has a good voice, but not as good as Connery, Moore, Dalton and Craig's.
Not after the disaster that was The Citadel. In fairness, that was not his fault. Madden was actually quite good in The Bodyguard.
Despite his height, I thought Madden was a decent contender, until I watched The Citadel, which did him more harm than good IMHO.

A James Bond joke:
M sends James Bond on a secret mission to heaven. When Miss Moneypenny doesn’t hear from Bond for over a day, she gets worried and calls up heaven.
The Virgin Mary picks up the phone and says:
"Virgin Mary speaking." Moneypenny asks her if Bond has reached there yet. She replies that he hasn’t.
Moneypenny waits another few hours and calls heaven back again.
"Virgin Mary speaking," comes the response. "Is James there yet?" asks Moneypenny. Again the answer is no.
Moneypenny is really worried by this time, but he waits for a few more hours and then calls heaven back again.
"Hello, Mary speaking ...." 😁
If you include his hair Madden is 6ft plus.

After watching...nay, 'enduring'...KRAVEN THE HUNTER, I'm done with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Take him out of the equation, please.
How about Benedict Cumberbatch, he would be a return to a sophisticated Bond of Class in Flemings Sense?
He's 48 years old.
When we see the white smoke emerging, we'll know they've chosen a new James Bond...
Roger Moore 1927-2017
I wonder if he'd be American.....
To avoid the tariffs?😫
