Giannini is perfect casting as Fleming's Mathis. It's a shame that the character was messed around with in CR/QOS rather than being left as a straight ally, as in Fleming.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Dinner Jackets - definitely one of my favourite cues. Hints of the Vesper theme, plus a cunning hint at the Bond vamp.

I‘ve never understood his issue with a tailored tuxedo

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

Love how Arnold introduces some embryonic Bond theme elements (circa 67/69)

I've never quite put the link to 67/69 Bond theme together in my head - but you are so right.

Machine that goes “quirp” the printer sized encrypter.

The costuming in these scenes is amazing. All opulent materials precision tailoring...

And Vesper’s purple dress is inspired....
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I love the moment when Bond allows Le Chiffre to call him out on his true identity... the knowing smile exchanged between them

I know next to nothing about poker, but I still find the scene very suspenceful. that's how well directed it is.

Just saw Mr Mendel last night in X-Men: First Class...as a nazi hiding out in Argentina who gets a whopping great knife stabbed through his hand by Magneto.

A podcast well worth listening to: 'I Was There Too' with Carlos Leal - Tournament director in Casino Royale.

Didn‘t Campbell do some very good episodes of the Professionals?

A great scene. Fassbender in very Bond-like in the early scenes of First Class. And I loved that they used the music from that scene in the trailers for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in 2011.

She's in different parts of the movie but with no lines. I somehow keep wanting her to offer some "very best duck!"

If anybody mentioned the parcours scene to be the best Bond action scene ever: here comes the staircase fight!

The stairwell fight is amazing..... but this is where Bond makes a very bloddy mess.
The Moore era is a thing of the past here.....

Bond arming up in the lift while remaining calm and composed is a great part.

This violent interlude between card table scenes lets off a lot of steam after all that suspense.

Victimisation of LeChiffre's gf is something of a theme up till her implied demise later on.

I would have very much enjoyed a full movie of Magneto: Nazi Hunter.

And I would very much have liked a nice series of films with Fassbender as Bond...alas, not going to happen.

Stairwell setting reminds me of the elevator fight in DAF, which is less intense but still quite violent.
