Sellers shooting the cork off the champagne bottle. Scaramanga's greeting to Bond on his island.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

The dream sequence was to make as much use of Sellers as possible, since he walked off the film before finishing his part

Can anyone, based on past or current experience, say if this movie is any good while under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

It kind of becomes so obviously bad it’s hilarious...
Bit like watching Absolutely Fabulous, then watching it while high. Very High.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Accompanied by a dreamy image of Vesper almost wearing a very nice little nothing. ;)

True, but that's a different movie!

...and now the film begins to vaguely resemble the novel (and therefore the 2006 film)

Just a few more magic tricks than the 2006 version.

Some of the stuff in OHMSS as Blofeld hypnotises his angels of death at night, and when Bond is knocked unconscious in Ruby's room, is slightly psychedelic too.

There's only one shot where we see Sellers and Welles together, since Sellers was afraid of Welles stealing scenes

Maybe. If in the right frame of mind. If drunk. Through a kaleidoscope.

Colin Gordon, director of the casino, an old pal of Niven's- was in "The Pink Panther"

It actually does this quite well. The tension between Bond and Le Chiffre over the baccarat table is good... perhaps given an edge, too, by the irl hostility between the two actors at the time.

Mathis played by Duncan Macrae, familiar in Scotland as Para Handy at the time.

Why did he walk off? Did he seem some of the dailies?

Yay! We're finally in the casino!

Personal problems with wife Brit Ekland. He just upped and left for Sweden, apparently.

Sellers is a credible Bond at the baccarat table. But then he does his silly Indian imitation.
