Hmmm, I don't really have those issues. And I wear the copper / blue one often too. I've learnt through the years how important how the knot is tied (even if it is still a four in hand) is. So much room for variation there.

Fantastic! Could you post a pic of what the collar looks like laid flat?

    Sure thing, here you go:

Total fail on my part in communication... apologies, what I meant was if you could lay it flat on a table such as:

Your comment about whether he uses a double four in hand has been gnawing in the back of my mind, and on a recent re-watch of TWINE I discovered the "smoking gun". Apologies for the poor photo, I encourage you to rather see the scene again in 4K again, it is from the scene where Bond confronts Elektra. But this photo shows the distinctive "double band" of a double four in hand, ie that the tie band has been wound around itself twice:

This explains not only the width of the knot, but more importantly the depth, ie note how his knots cover the entire vertical space of the collar band. I've struggled to achieve that with any of the Bond ties with a single four in hand, when I tried a double four in hand that gave the same result as Brosnan's.

I’m not seeing the double layer on your pic… could you point to what you’re referring to? I’ll try to check out the movie again when I have a chance. But I do think a double FIH would explain how he pulls the length off!

@Bond_and_beyond , I see what you're seeing, but I'm not convinced that it's a Prince Albert knot. It could just be the tie's pattern playing tricks on our eyes. I think it could still be a double-four-in-hand knot.

There's no hint of the double outer wrap here.

Does anyone know the fabric number for the Casino Royale tuxedo shirt? (in order to obtain it in mtm or bespoke)

About T&A ties, I've always wondered about the exact pattern for the tie Pierce wears at the end of DAD while ''kissing'' Moneypenny. Does someone have pictures or something?

To the best of my knowledge, the Casino Royale dress shirt material was a poplin basket weave with material number 4085

Our Bond Vivant research expert 'Stu from Hong Kong' does know the DAD Moneypenny tie pattern because he discovered it during his research for the creation of last T&A tie collection. (Apologies it was not mentioned in the last video, but there were quite a few designs we missed out simply due to time constraints.

If the Bond Community desire more Brosnan ties, we definitely recommend mentioning it to a member of staff next time you're there, or send one of the kind members of staff an email to inquire. T&A works off feedback from customers. The more demand there is for a particular product, the more inclined the management will be to create it.

At The Bond Vivant we aim to serve the Bond Community as best we can. So if your collective feedback to T&A results in some positive communication from their side, we'll do our best to assist to make Bond fans' dreams a reality".

    Cheers, one and all,

Thanks for your answer, would it be possible to get in contact with him just to have some pics of the pattern?

Based on the pictures of Pierce’s overlapping collar patterns, is it possible to tell if the classic Turnbull collar he wears is stock or has added length/height?

I know in this thread someone mentioned the Thomas Crown Affair ties, I recently bought this tie

Specifically because it reminded me of the first tie Brosnan wears in the film. Upon reviewing this higher res photo of him in the film

I believe it’s actually made from the same silk as the screen used one. It’s a vintage Italian tie so if the bolt of fabric got sold or more than one was made it’s very possible.

Hopefully this isn’t too off topic, I thought it might help this project or Magnoli if a replica was ever made and am happy to post more close up pictures of the weave. I really thought the center line was solid black but on the picture of Brosnan you can faintly see the silver line by the tie dimple

Amazing! That is definitely it. Which Italian maker was it? I would definitely be up for one if Magnoli reproduced it.

The tag on the back is Lee Allison which isn’t an Italian maker or high end brand which is why I think the bolt of fabric was just sold and used by another brand. That or the mill that wove the silk made more than one bolt and that then got bought.

After looking into it Lee Allison is a clothing maker in Chicago. The reason I said Italian is because I bought it from an eBay seller based out of Boccia al Mauro in Italy.

@Indy Magnoli would you be interested in this?

On the subject of ties did anyone every manage to identify the tie in the final scene of Spectre. The lighting in Ms office is so subdued its hard to make out the colour of anything Bond is wearing.

Sorry meant Skyfall. The tie that Bond wears with the navy small herringbone suit in the final scene in M's office
