Higgins would not approve, but a) he’s not here, and b) he’s an idiot.

    More Kingsman goodness

Recently got this Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso classic. Quite liking the smaller classic proportions... after wearing this for a few weeks the Seamaster Pro (and definitely the Seamaster 300) feel massive on the wrist by comparison. It's also a manual winding movement which gives an extra daily connection/interaction that I'm also enjoying.

Tudor are really making some amazing stuff at the moment. But the new Black Bay 58 is sublime.

Will look amazing on a Geckota Real Bond strap no doubt, but the solid linked riveted bracelet has really won me over.

Like I said, that’s an Anthony Sinclair Barleycorn hacking jacket, you ignorant oaf. And a fitting item to be wearing with that watch.

Now go back to your sad hermit life. No one likes you.

Asp, that BB58 is a beaut. I find the other watches in the black bay line to be too thick in the case, but they have a real winner with the 58

Apart from the obvious difference with the gold coloring on the dial and bezel, how do you find it compares to the Rolex 6538 from the early Connery films?

It really captures the classic feel of the 6538 and the gold indices and lettering set it apart from modern watches. Like the 6538, it’s a more elegant watch than the modern Subs. And anyone that knows me and how much I love Subs (I’ve been collecting them for nearly 25 years), knows what a massively shocking statement that is.

I don’t think you can compare it to the 6538 as it’s not a direct copy, it holds it’s own and is free from the Rolex shadow. That being said, I bought it as it is a nod to the older Sub design, and the Bond connection, and captures its spirit very well. The snowflake hands you forget about after a while as in the flesh, they blend in, the riveted bracelet is solid, sleek and hugs the wrist, as does the flatter profile case. The slightly domed sapphire crystal looks like its plexi predecessor, and the matt black bezel and dial, with the gilt colouring just set the whole thing off. If Bond wore this in the next film, I’m sure even the most hard line Rolex buffs would be punching air.

Something which we are all thankful of. Even those that haven’t seen it. Ignorance is definitely bliss :D

Love that watch. I went tried to view one a few weeks back but they didn't have any in my AD. If I remember rightly they are also very reasonable on price too.

When I bought the watch I was sure that I would put it on a bracelet very quickly. However, after 6 months it is still on a strap and by now I think I will not even bother with buying the bracelet.

    I have to be honest.
I'm thinking of trading my loved Rolex Explorer 14270 for the Skyfall Aqua terra. (Sold my quartz AT to buy the Rolex)

Can anyone please talk me out of it??

The SF AT is a beautiful watch. But it is no Explorer. That’s a dumb move. Don’t do it.
