I haven't been to the website for 3 days!
A nice episode on the danger of not questioning the massmedia.
Once more a episode with great writing and good quality and written by R.T. Davies.
I had forgotten how it is tio watch a series week by week, and its fun. The anticipation beats the dvdset.

The same things happenned to me this week that happenned last week! I saw 15 minutes of it then had to have tea and then managed to see the last 15 minutes of it! It's most annoying! X-( But at least I have taped it.
I watched the episodes on UKGold again this morning and yesterday. When ever there's a break on them it marks the end of an episode because really it's 4 episodes put together. When I see when the breaks are, I feel so sorry for the people of the '80s! Someone's about to die (It was the Doctor this morning) and they end the episode!
There isn't really any clifhangers in the recent ones, because they're all one episode stories. I'm sort of glad really, I think I'd pass out with the tention that they leave on the old episodes!
I have enjoyed some lines from this weekends old episodes though. Yesterday morning, it was Castrovalva and the Doctor's regeneration has gone a bit wrong. He hears someone shouting his name and says, "Doctor? Everyone's looking for him!". ) Then this morning, it was Four to Doomsday and he said to Adric (who'd gone a bit loopy!) "Now listen here you young idiot!" )
Sometimes I wish I was born a bit earlier though, so that I could see all these thing when they first appeared on TV and at the cinema.
I will watch the rest of episode 7 sometime today. No doubt I shall enjoy the middle part!

I've done it! I've finally done it! After a long long time (ok 3-4 days!) I have finally beaten the Dalek game!
I loved the last few levels! On level nine it was hard and I kept on getting stuck but then I managed to do it and at the end I got to 'kill' the Doctor.
Then on the last level, the Doctor was still alive and this time I really did kill him. Then I went forward and got to blow up the TARDIS!
Everyone's got to try it! It's totally amazing!
Actually I did it about half an hour ago but I've been playing on my new PC game. I only like two PC games. Theme Park World and my new one Theme Hospital. It's like your really running a hospital and Theme Park! These need a purchased disk.
But I still like the Dalek game better!
For God's sake someone send me a tape of the first series. We still haven't seen it here in Australia and the suspense is killing me. I will happily pay for a good quality TV copy of the series on VHS/NTSC.

I finally got around to watching The Long Game on my tape. I thought it was fantastic! Especially room 500. It must of been a lot of hard work making it. The Editor was cool! He wasn't some old and serious bloke and he wasn't some alien who thinks they're the best. The Jagrafest (aka Max because I won't bother to call it it's full name) was wonderfully designed. Adam was a bit loopy though. He could of thought what was going to happen when he went back to Earth. I wonder what his mom said about... )
Anyway... Felix's Favourite Funny Line is back! This week there are 2 because I couldn't decide which. One's quite short while the other is quite long.
Rose: Can't you ask them to turn the heating down? It's boiling!
Cathica: We keep asking them to. Something to do with the turbines.
Doctor: [sort of sarcastically] Something to do with the turbines!
Cathica: Well I don't know!
Doctor: Exactly! I give up on you Cathica! Now Rose. Look at Rose. Rose is asking the right kind of questions!
Rose: A thank you.
Doctor: Why is it so hot?!
The Editor: Who are you?
Doctor: Well since that information's keeping us alive, I'm hardly going to say - am I?
Also, I taped Dalek and The Long Game. I'm going to tape Father's Day and The Empty Child. Then, for my birthday, I'm going to get the first 3 on DVD. That way, I'm only going to have 2 missing if I keep taping the rest of the seris! By the end of June, I'll have the whole seris on either DVD or VHS! And I'll have Dalek on DVD and VHS!

'Dalek' was a hard act to follow and so it proved with The Long Game. Having said that, it was by no means a bad episode. It was an interesting story about media manipulation. Simon Pegg was suitably smug and villainous as The Editor.
It was also a story about Adam. I did like the scenario between how Rose reacted in End of the World to how Adam reacted in The Long Game to their first trip through time and space in similar circumstances (satellite's orbiting the Earth).
Another thing that interested me was the Doctor's treatment of Adam at the end of the episode. It's true that Adam was trying to profit from his time travelling experience by sending data back in time. He was being greedy and selfish, but there was no evil intent on his behalf. He certainly wasn't thinking of the consequences of his actions, like changing the course of history.
For sure, the Doctor could not let this go unpunished, but was it fair of him to take Adam home and just leave him there without giving him a second chance? After all, it was Adam's first trip through time and space and he was clearly overwhelmed by it.
My own feeling on this matter is that the Doctor didn't wan't Adam to come between himself and Rose, so this scenario gave him the perfect opportunity to prevent it ever happening.
On another note. The viewer ratings continue to be very impressive. Early indications put the viewer rating average for The Long Game at 7.53 million with a peak around 8 million viewers.

It'll be screened in Australia just as the DVDs are coming out in the UK, so you've not got that long to wait, chin up!

I have to admit, the Doctor was a bit hard on Adam. He really didn't like him at all.

I kept rewinding my video with the tune at the end and recording it to use in mky mucis class. And I went to the site and recorded some of my favourite clips. Then this morning something went wrong with the recorder so the tempo is all slow! I'm going to try and record them in another way as soon as possible. It's just to the same, listening to it in my head! I can't remember some of the words!

I've got an idea for an episode of Doctor Who. I'm thinking of writing it all out. If I got in touch with the BBC, do you think they'd at least consider it? I think it's really good, but I'm worried they might not think much of it. Or they might not want to do anything with a piece of work by a 13 year old. Even if I did do it, I'm not that sure how you get in touch with the BBC or Russel Davies for this kind of thing. I really need your advice because I'm not sure what to do. PLEASE reply A.S.AP. as this is something that is really bothering me. Thanks.

Has anyone got any help for the problem child over here?! This is driving me crazy!
I was reading an article about Woody Allen at the BBC's website and much to my surprise it featured comments attributed to BBC films boss David Thompson regarding a Doctor Who feature film.
According to the article, Thompson has confirmed that BBC films is pushing ahead with it's plans for a Doctor Who feature, the progress of which is dependent on how the new Doctor Who tv series is received in the US.
This indicates to me that the new series is going to be shown in the US sometime in the near future. Some encouraging news (I hope) for Alex, Hardyboy etc.

Well only 15 minutes now until the long awaited another episode. This one I will be able to see all the way through hopefully. My alarm didn't go off this morning so I missed the first half an hour of one of the classic episodes:Kinda. It really annoyed me because I so wanted to know what had hapenned to Nissa!

Well, that was a spectacular episode and a half. Arguably one of the best in the series so far.
I've often wondered why we've not seen two Doctors. And I don't mean previous generations of himself, I'm meaning two of the same one. And this episode explains why... Wow. The Doctor's alien side is apparent here as well; if he were human, he'd clearly see the danger in taking Rose back to the day her father died and would never have agreed to it. He was blind to the emotions.

In effect, it is Rose who causes her father's death by saving him. The wound in time now has to be healed and the only way was for her dad to die.

The "reapers" are truly horrific looking beasts, and for 7pm on BBC on a Saturday night the way they devour their pray, though not explicitly seen as their wings shroud the grizzly death, is enough to leave the imagination under no illusion as to what's happening.
The Doctor entering the TARDIS to find that it was just an empty blue box of similar dimension to the external was a bit of a shocker too.
In all, it was one of those episodes where the complexities of time travel unfold, seeing "past you", or even multiple "past you"s and it was done incredibly well.
And maybe it was just me that's the big softie and had a big lump in my throat at the end.
Roll on WWII London and the Blitz, complete with Luftwaffe He-111s, in next week's episode...

Another top-notch episode. The writing has been of an incredibly high standard throughout this series - each episode has left me thinking that it was the best one so far. It will be a real shame to see Chris Ecclestone step down and Billie Piper has been a revelation.
Father's Day was an emotional, gripping and thought provoking episode about the potential consequences of changing the course of history. It reminded me of a similarly themed episode from the original 1960's Star Trek tv series called The City on the Edge of Forever? The episode with Joan Collins.
Billie Piper goes from strength to strength. I will be very surprised if she continues to portray Rose Tyler beyond the next series. A mention to for Shaun Dingwall who put in a wonderful performance as Pete Tyler (Rose's father).
Impressive indeed. At this moment, Father's Day is my second favourite episode of the series to date. My favourite is Dalek.

This week, it wasn't exactly that much of a humorous episode, so it's not really that funny.

I've also discovered, that by going on about Doctor Who, instead of James bond all the time, I'm a lot cooler at school! Even the popular people (aka not me) watch it.
I watched one on Sunday morning and this time my alarm did go off. The Visitation it was called. Lots of funny lines.
Teegan: Oh come one Doctor! If nothing it's saved us a long walk.
Doctor: I like long walks.
Richard Mace: You missed! You wasted our only shot!
Doctor: I never miss.
*blows on gun*
Doctor:Steady you'll be alright.

Also, his Sonic Screwdriver got destroyed, when he was trying to escape from some handcuffs and a guy caught him.

It sort of got melted by this gun. I'm interested to how he get another one. He can't really get it repaired and anyway, he left it behind.
It was a good episode. This Saturday's one is only on for an hour though. But Sunday's episode is on for the normal 2 and has the Cybermen in it! It's called Earthshock. I'm looking forward to that because I haven't seen any episodes with the Cybermen in yet.

I will be watching Earthshock. It has one of the most memorable moments in the whole history of Doctor Who. Depending on your point of view, it will either come as a big shock or a nice surprise.

Why did Christopher Eccleston quit Doctor Who after just one series?
According to today's Daily Mail it's because "You cannot have a life. You can't socialise. It's like having a Tardis in your skull. There were days when I got psoriasis, I got eczema. My face blew up in the Dalek episode - I looked literally disfigured with tiredness and my skin. It is graft. With tv, you do a 14-hour day and then you're doing your line learning. I ain't moaning, but if you play the Doctor, the hardest thing is you can't have a life."
On another note. The BBC's official website has been updated to promote episode nine, The Empty Child.

Last night's episode was fantastic! I missed 10 minutes of it though because my tea was done. I'll watch it all the way through today. I think my mom purposely every week does my tea for when Doctor Who's on! X-(
The site said it was going to be the scariest episode yet and they were sure right! I haven't really been scared whatsoever in any of the previous episodes, but this week was different. Things were making me jump and some parts were frightning.
Also, the special effects were magnificent! Especially with the Doctor guy in the hospital. SPOILERS
The end part was freaking me out, when all the people in the gas masks were coming towards the Doctor, Rose and Jack. Then when they ended there and it went straight through to the credits, I was screaming at the TV! Luckily they showed them after the credits. END SPOILERS
I won't post Felix's Favourite Funny Line until after I've seen it all the way through.
I watched Earthshock this morning, with the Cybermen. Some parts in that also made my a bit scared. It was surprising really. I mean they're just bits of tin molded into gahstly forms. ) Like someone (I believe it was M5) said, the ending was very good. I shall miss watching Adric.
I have some favourite lines from that though. All of course said when the Cybermen were present.
Cyber Leader: A Timelord! But they're forbidden to interfere!
Cyberman: This one calls himslef the Doctor and does nothing else but interfere.
Doctor: (speaking to the Cyberleader, who is surprisingly taller than him) You never change. Always the perfect guests.
I did enjoy the part where the Cybermen were going to kill Teegan and the Doctor said he didn't care. But then at the last second he changed his mind.
I still can't get over Adric's death! When the Lieutenet (yes I know it's spelt wrong, but I so can't place the right spelling today! X-( ) dragged him into the escape hatch eventually, I thought he was safe, but then he ran out again.
Through much of this episode (well episodes, because it's a 2 hour omnibus), I was shouting at the TV. It was on from 8am-10am and I was the only one up so I hope I didn't disturb my parents! )

It is being reported that Billie Piper will be leaving the show at some point through Series 2. It is unconfirmed how many episodes she will be in, BBC insiders say at least 3, as it is still currently being scripted, but she will not be the Doctor's companion at the end of that series. It's been a great launching pad for her acting career though, she's apparently been bombarded with offers both here in the UK and in the US - I'm sure the cameo in the new series of Little Britain playing Vicky Pollard's arch-nemisis is not included in that statement
The new series begins filming in July with David Tennant in the role of the Doctor.
I have to say I'm disappointed. She's been an absolute star in every episode so far and proved her weight as an actress. Still, companions move on, cast members move on, and at least the continuity will be kept through the first few episodes of the next series and the new Doctor.
Billie Piper may not appear in every episode of the second series of Doctor Who on BBC One, according to reports.
Piper, who plays the Doctor's assistant Rose, will return for the new series but it is not confirmed for how many episodes, said a BBC spokeswoman.

Christopher Eccleston has already said he will not return as the Doctor - David Tennant will become the timelord.
The return of Doctor Who has been a huge success for the BBC - both critically and with audiences.

Yes, this is sad news, but it was inevitable. Billie Piper has been exceptional, so it's been no surprise to find out that she has been offered numerous acting roles both here and in the US.
According to a Daily Express article by Caroline Virr. The names in the frame to replace Billie Piper are Michelle Ryan, Keeley Hawes and Kelly Macdonald.
The article also states that insiders claimed that Rose's on-off boyfriend Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke) will become the Doctor's full-time companion.
In saying that though, I'd be happy with three out of four of those names. Kelly MacDonald would be very interesting indeed. Given that the new Doctor will have a toned central Scottish accent, could it be tied into some sort of Scottish plot that ends him up with Glasgow girl Kelly?
I'd also don't mind Mickey going along full time either. His performance in Aliens/WW3 was good and his chemistry with the Doctor (ok, it'll be a different actor, but still) was amusing.

This indicates to me that the new series is going to be shown in the US sometime in the near future. Some encouraging news (I hope) for Alex, Hardyboy etc.

I've often wondered why we've not seen two Doctors. And I don't mean previous generations of himself, I'm meaning two of the same one. And this episode explains why... Wow. The Doctor's alien side is apparent here as well; if he were human, he'd clearly see the danger in taking Rose back to the day her father died and would never have agreed to it. He was blind to the emotions.

In effect, it is Rose who causes her father's death by saving him. The wound in time now has to be healed and the only way was for her dad to die.

The "reapers" are truly horrific looking beasts, and for 7pm on BBC on a Saturday night the way they devour their pray, though not explicitly seen as their wings shroud the grizzly death, is enough to leave the imagination under no illusion as to what's happening.
The Doctor entering the TARDIS to find that it was just an empty blue box of similar dimension to the external was a bit of a shocker too.
In all, it was one of those episodes where the complexities of time travel unfold, seeing "past you", or even multiple "past you"s and it was done incredibly well.
And maybe it was just me that's the big softie and had a big lump in my throat at the end.
Roll on WWII London and the Blitz, complete with Luftwaffe He-111s, in next week's episode...

Another top-notch episode. The writing has been of an incredibly high standard throughout this series - each episode has left me thinking that it was the best one so far. It will be a real shame to see Chris Ecclestone step down and Billie Piper has been a revelation.
Billie Piper goes from strength to strength. I will be very surprised if she continues to portray Rose Tyler beyond the next series. A mention to for Shaun Dingwall who put in a wonderful performance as Pete Tyler (Rose's father).
Impressive indeed. At this moment, Father's Day is my second favourite episode of the series to date. My favourite is Dalek.

This week, it wasn't exactly that much of a humorous episode, so it's not really that funny.
Doctor: Don't touch the baby!
I've also discovered, that by going on about Doctor Who, instead of James bond all the time, I'm a lot cooler at school! Even the popular people (aka not me) watch it.
I watched one on Sunday morning and this time my alarm did go off. The Visitation it was called. Lots of funny lines.
Teegan: Oh come one Doctor! If nothing it's saved us a long walk.
Doctor: I like long walks.
Richard Mace: You missed! You wasted our only shot!
Doctor: I never miss.
*blows on gun*
Doctor:Steady you'll be alright.
Richard Mace: How do you know that?
Doctor: I'm the Doctor.
Also, his Sonic Screwdriver got destroyed, when he was trying to escape from some handcuffs and a guy caught him.
"I feel like I've just lost an old friend,"
It sort of got melted by this gun. I'm interested to how he get another one. He can't really get it repaired and anyway, he left it behind.
It was a good episode. This Saturday's one is only on for an hour though. But Sunday's episode is on for the normal 2 and has the Cybermen in it! It's called Earthshock. I'm looking forward to that because I haven't seen any episodes with the Cybermen in yet.
I will be watching Earthshock. It has one of the most memorable moments in the whole history of Doctor Who. Depending on your point of view, it will either come as a big shock or a nice surprise.
Let's just say that it wasn't a big shock...... in my case.
Why did Christopher Eccleston quit Doctor Who after just one series?
According to today's Daily Mail it's because "You cannot have a life. You can't socialise. It's like having a Tardis in your skull. There were days when I got psoriasis, I got eczema. My face blew up in the Dalek episode - I looked literally disfigured with tiredness and my skin. It is graft. With tv, you do a 14-hour day and then you're doing your line learning. I ain't moaning, but if you play the Doctor, the hardest thing is you can't have a life."

The new series airs in Oz on the 21st May, 7.30pm.
The site said it was going to be the scariest episode yet and they were sure right! I haven't really been scared whatsoever in any of the previous episodes, but this week was different. Things were making me jump and some parts were frightning.
Also, the special effects were magnificent! Especially with the Doctor guy in the hospital.

The end part was freaking me out, when all the people in the gas masks were coming towards the Doctor, Rose and Jack. Then when they ended there and it went straight through to the credits, I was screaming at the TV! Luckily they showed them after the credits.

I watched Earthshock this morning, with the Cybermen. Some parts in that also made my a bit scared. It was surprising really. I mean they're just bits of tin molded into gahstly forms.
I have some favourite lines from that though. All of course said when the Cybermen were present.
Cyber Leader: A Timelord! But they're forbidden to interfere!
Cyberman: This one calls himslef the Doctor and does nothing else but interfere.
Doctor: (speaking to the Cyberleader, who is surprisingly taller than him) You never change. Always the perfect guests.
I did enjoy the part where the Cybermen were going to kill Teegan and the Doctor said he didn't care. But then at the last second he changed his mind.
I still can't get over Adric's death!
Through much of this episode (well episodes, because it's a 2 hour omnibus), I was shouting at the TV. It was on from 8am-10am and I was the only one up so I hope I didn't disturb my parents!

The new series begins filming in July with David Tennant in the role of the Doctor.
I have to say I'm disappointed. She's been an absolute star in every episode so far and proved her weight as an actress. Still, companions move on, cast members move on, and at least the continuity will be kept through the first few episodes of the next series and the new Doctor.
I'm sure we're going to see a lot more of her.

Piper 'to leave Who series two'
Billie Piper may not appear in every episode of the second series of Doctor Who on BBC One, according to reports.
Piper, who plays the Doctor's assistant Rose, will return for the new series but it is not confirmed for how many episodes, said a BBC spokeswoman.
"With regard to how many episodes she will be in, we are currently story-lining series two," she said.
Christopher Eccleston has already said he will not return as the Doctor - David Tennant will become the timelord.
The return of Doctor Who has been a huge success for the BBC - both critically and with audiences.
But the loss of Eccleston was a blow for the corporation looking to build on the success of the first series.
The show has been developed by Russell T Davies, writer of Queer As Folk and The Second Coming, who is a lifelong Doctor Who fan.
The BBC spokeswoman said plans for the second series had not been finalised.
"It has not been confirmed how many episodes she will be in," she said.
"We are waiting to see the storylines and scripts."
Yes, this is sad news, but it was inevitable. Billie Piper has been exceptional, so it's been no surprise to find out that she has been offered numerous acting roles both here and in the US.
According to a Daily Express article by Caroline Virr. The names in the frame to replace Billie Piper are Michelle Ryan, Keeley Hawes and Kelly Macdonald.
The article also states that insiders claimed that Rose's on-off boyfriend Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke) will become the Doctor's full-time companion.
In saying that though, I'd be happy with three out of four of those names. Kelly MacDonald would be very interesting indeed. Given that the new Doctor will have a toned central Scottish accent, could it be tied into some sort of Scottish plot that ends him up with Glasgow girl Kelly?
I'd also don't mind Mickey going along full time either. His performance in Aliens/WW3 was good and his chemistry with the Doctor (ok, it'll be a different actor, but still) was amusing.
Eastenders' Zoe Slater though? Nooooooooooooooo...
