I don't think LtK is that polarizing.

TMWTGG, MR and TND sure as hell are though.

Ofc, time will tell. We'll just have to wait until he does watch it.

My list has changed again, I'm in that mood to be constantly watching the film's when I can after SPECTRE and I guess a lot of my opinions have changed!:

    1.GoldenEye
    2.Licence to Kill
    3.Skyfall
    4.Octopussy
    5.Live and Let Die
    6.For Your Eyes Only
    7.Goldfinger
    8.Moonraker
    9.The Spy Who Loved Me
    10.SPECTRE
    11.A View to a Kill
12.The Man With the Golden Gun
    13.Casino Royale (06)
    14.The Living Daylights
    15.Tormorrow Never Dies
    16.Diamonds Are Forever
    17.You Only Live Twice
    18.The World Is Not Enough
    19.From Russia With Love
    20.Die Another Day
    21.On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    22.Quantum of Solace
    23.Never Say Never Again
    24.Thunderball
    25.Dr No
    26.Casino Royale(67)

Now, whilst they may appear to be ranked low, I hinestly like the film's from Never Say Never Again and upwards. I only dislike Thunderball, Dr No and Casino Royale, Thunderball and Dr No becacause they're just so bland, I just don't see how anyone puts those two in their top 10. Casino Roayle is just all over the place, slow and unfunny. It really kills me to put The Livng Daylights as low as 14, because I really do think it's one of the best BOnd films, but there are just so many others I enjoy it ends up low.

I think I will like it, yes. With DC playing Bond and Lea Seydoux there, it'll be hard not to. But you're right, probably not like CR and FRWL from what I hear.

That's my problem. I enjoy most of the Bond films and even the ones I didn't like had some great moments in it.

I feel a little bad ranking Spectre at 16. It was entertaining, but do I put it over The World Is Not Enough, Skyfall, From Russia With Love, and You Only Live Twice?

    I have not tried to rank 007 films in the 1 to 24 format. Usually, I just group the films as many of them are so close. However, I will attempt to rank them soon after my 2nd viewing of SPECTRE today .... To bring some objectivity to my subjective opinion, I would judge Bond films based on how they perform in both the parts - 1st and 2nd. Each half will be assigned a max value of 10, so a film can get a maximum of 20 points. The best film will be 10+10=20. The lowest, I would probably rank at 5+5=10. The middle one at 7.5+7.5=15. The other 21 films would get a score relevant to where they fall .... Should be an interesting exercise -{

I feel like SP is Craig's Thunderball in terms of tone. It's a little like GF in the execution department though I guess. But yeah, a full-on Connery feel I've not gotten from his prior ones.

Clearly not a Brosnan fan. Or much of a Craig fan either, which is interesting.

Yep, we got ourselves an old-school Bond fan here. You, Matt S, and Wadsy should get along great.

As for your ranking of the Bond actors, I'm thinking:

    1) Sir Connery
    2) Dalton
    3) Sir Moore
    4) Lazenby
    5) Craig
    6) Brosnan

I like all the Bonds. However, I rate Connery and Moore as the top two. Followed by the others in no particular order. :D

I have tried to rate the films purely based on their strengths. Yesterday, I re-visited both GE and OHMSS, and was once again blown away by OHMSS, while I felt slightly disappointed with GE, which at one point used to be among my fav.

Today, I watched SPECTRE for the 2nd time in 3 days. Even though there is not much difference b/w SPECTRE and some of the other recent films. I placed it at top of the recent ones mainly because I could see how the team made an effort to make something different. In the past, we have been harsh on slightly different attempts such as OHMSS and LTK when they were released but these films gained a lot of popularity later on!

I would break down the films in to three periods:

    Period A - 60s-70s
Period B - 80s (or The John Glen period)
    Period C - 90s-2015

I have kept SP at the top of Period C :p

Updated ranking with Spectre. I feel it is one of those that will grow on more fans with more viewings. While most films do the opposite.

1.GoldenEye- My favorite. Great everything. Bond movie I grew up watching every single day.
    2. Goldfinger- Classic. Connery at his best. Great villian. Great henchman.
    3. OHMSS- HONESTLY great film. Lazenby wasn't as horrible as I heard he was. Loved the tone of the film. Great action sequences. Plus that ending. .
    4. CR- To me it's a classic. Bond at its best, and what a debut for DC. Vesper is great. And this shows that action does not need to drive the film.
5.Skyfall- Overall great film. Has all the right elements of a great Bond movie. Background info on Bond something new and refreshing. Nice nostalgia kicks bringing back Moneypenny and Q. Few references to old films.
    6. Moonraker- Love this movie. Always have. Something about it. Easily my favorite Moore film.
    7. LTK- Very good all around film. Great pacing and villian. Great Bond Girl
8.FRWL- All around great film. Really made the Bond formula here.
    9. LALD- Awesome Moore debut. Loved the simplicity and setting. Might go higher with time.
    10. Dr.No- The start. Connery setting the standard
    11. YOLT- Even with the hokey stuff in here its still a great Bond flick. Very enjoyable. Just forget about Japanese Bond though.
    12. Spectre- Love the tone. Good villian. Great first half. Lacking finale. Love MI6 involvement. One of the best fight scenes in series.
    13. TSWLM- Good Bond film. Great finish. Moore most comfortable as Bond here
    14. TND- Good start. Slow middle. Good finish. Nothing very memorable.
    15. QOS- Enjoyed this movie. Great action pieces. And I honestly liked the plot and story. Tied strings up well. Downside very forgettable villian
    16. TLD- Very good action pieces. Love the setting and the final battle. More serious Tone was needed after Moore.
    17. DAD- Great start. Ok Middle. Hokey but entertaining end.
    18. TWINE- Electra King was great. Villian was ok. Good opening and ending.
    19. TB- Not bad , but not a huge fan of underwater scenes taking over the movie. Bond Girl was great. Movie had some good moments.
20.FYEO- Very basic plot. But executed well. Great first half. Not as great 2nd half.
    21. DAF- Little hokey and over the top. Blofield isnt used very well. Decent last hurrah for Connery
    22. Octopussy- I'm not sure what it was but did not like the pacing of this film. Ending was really good. But the first 3 quarters were lackluster.
    23. TMWTGG- Love the villian and knick knack. Had potential to be really great. Might like this one more with passage of time.
    24. AVTAK- Again good last 30 minutes. Walken was an amazing psycho. Loved his role. The rest was honestly boring. Still had some fun parts

I can see where hmd's coming from, as SP is where I've liked Craig the most. I think Craig looked very comfortable in it.

    5.GoldenEye
    6.Goldfinger
    7.The Spy Who Loved Me
    8.A View to a Kill
    9.Live and Let Die
    10.Moonraker
    11.SPECTRE
    12.Tomorrow Never Dies
    13.Casino Royale (06)
    14.The Living Daylights
15.The Man with the Golden Gun
    16.Diamonds Are Forever
    17.The World is Not Enough
