on a more serious note, I wonder how someone could pull a gun in a reasonable time that way.

It must look funny, if someone grabs her own skirt, pulls it up and has a gun in her hand.

I would guess that she gets faster a $10er that way than being able to fire a bullet :v

    :)) :)) :)) :))

well but that gun is just the hidden reserve one, not the main one. It's not for immediate use, it's for emergency, which is the use it had in LTK. :D Including making the dress a mini instead of a long one as part of the show :)) Bond girl style, impeccable!

coming back to James Bond girl style:

I have always liked Aki's outfit when entering Hendersons mansion.

By the way, Alessandra, any news about the black Domino swimsuit?

hey Bondtoys, great to meet finally today....

my trip to the dentist was made all the more "interesting" after that desert you chose..:#

    however, no damage done...:D

btw, back a few replies, old two-chins was being discussed....seems she's a fighter...

"There were catty comments after a snap appeared of Gemma Arterton sporting a double chin but, as befits a Bond Girl, the stunning 23-year-old actress has come out fighting - reports the Daily Mail.

Gemma, who appeared naked and slicked in oil in the 007 movie Quantum Of Solace, said she had no plans to slim down for future movie roles and took a swipe at her critics, declaring: ‘I refuse to conform to this muscly, sinewy look that so many actresses seem to think is attractive.

'I hate it and I don’t think it’s very feminine. I dress like a woman and I wear a lot of couture because it’s made for real women with curves.’

Speaking at Harvey Weinstein’s post-Bafta party at The Double Club, Gemma admitted: ‘I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hurt by what people were saying about the picture.’

But she added: ‘It was just a bad photo taken from the wrong angle. I’m a size ten, which I don’t think is big.

'Anyway, I’m about to shoot a new movie and the first scenes involve me wearing a brown paper bag over my head, so that should shut people up.’ You tell them, Gemma!"

I saw her at the Baftas and she looked a lot better. I dont think her choice of outfit helped in 'doublechin gate'. It was matronly and didn't do her any favours.

This is Gemma at the Baftas looking a lot better

It is nice to hear this. I think a lot of men agree with her that this lean musclely look is not attractive. I know I do.

Good for her, I too think her curves look great! I hate that emaciated model thin look. Why are women chastised for looking like her anyway? I bet most men prefer women to have a little curviness here and there!

Although I prefer to leave this thread to all the female members of the forum, I will comment on this current topic. I personally, much prefer a woman with curves, never much cared for the bag of bones look. The picture that LR posted of Gemma, is a picture of a very sexy lady.

It really is not an attractive look. You only have to look at pictures of Madonna or Victoria Beckham and you want to scream 'eat some cake!!'

Even though I first posted the unflattering pics on here of Gemma, I have always had a huge amount of sympathy for female stars who are constantly under scrutiny for their weight. Jessica Simpson is currently under fire for the same thing.

I know from my own experiences how disciplined you have to be to maintain such a slight frame and to be perectly honest, I've never found it to be worth it! Boiled chicken and veg, washed down with a glass of water - no thanks.

Then again, my body is not my fortune - I might find the discipline if I were getting paid a million :)) :))

I think her choice of outfit really let her down in the previous photos

What makes the Victoria Beckham/Callista Flockhart / Sarah Jessica Parker et al look so bad - in my opinion - is the way they look like Headknockers. Y'know. Those little plaster caricatures that are all head and stick body? How is that in any way attractive? To anyone? It looks awful.

Parson me ladies. - From Casino R, I always rated Miss Green. Inteligent, sexy, sultry, sweet and funny. However Miss Arterton takes joint first place now by this revelation. I like a woman who enjoys her food, and looks stunning. Give me a woman who is curvey with strong hips and personality any day!! - And she's right. Size ten is not big at all. Most retailers start at 6, and between that and 12 is tiny!

As a man who used to work in clothing retail, (both mens and womens) and who is not scared of providing advice, - I think the black evening dress suits her. It's dramatic and shows her shape in a film noire sillouette style. My one crit is the high collar. Nevertheless she looks enticing! - Far better than she did in Quantum, OR the premiere in London! ;)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Nice pic LadyRose....Gemma looks stunning in that dress, though I agree with TB2, the collar, and perhaps the sleeves, are a touch too long...

These were shot in November, so pre-xmas-pud, but I doubt there is a man on here that would kick her off their sun lounger...

I think that it's indicative that the most enduring sex symbols of our time have been the fuller figured girls. Sophia Loren, Ursula Andress, Brigitte Bardot, Rachel Welch and of course the super curvy Marilyn Monroe ... If ever there was a good reason to eat carbs, its them :))

And its not just a '60's thing either .... one of our most popular pin ups here in the UK is Kelly Brooke ...

Actually The Bond Girls, on the whole, are all slightly curvier than the lollipop ladies dominating our screens at the moment.

Something to get the party started .... here are a few of the dresses ...

Even though I'm no Kate Winslet fan I do adore her choice of dresses on the whole ... Loved the YSL she was wearing but my favourite is still the red Ben de Lisi from a few years back ... (one designer the Bond producers should use ;) )

I also liked Natalie Portmans dress very much.

Not so hot imo were Victoria Beckham, proving that what we said in the comments above are correct and Madoona, who looked like she had made no effort at all, though had probably spent hours.

The biggest disasters were made by the younger girls. Why do their people dress them like they are so much older?? Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus being the main culprits.

You guys have no idea do you?? Barbel had to ask as well. Shame on you both and you call yourself film fans 8-) .... Full explaination on pages 8 & 9 of this very thread ;)
See you've got around to completing your favourites list. Didn't realise you hated QoS that much!

Sure do. Haven't been back for a second viewing, which is exactly what happened with DAD and that hasn't moved either, even after several viewings and finding some redeeming features in it. I will probably reassess QoS when the DVD comes out and I can have several glasses of wine whilst watching it - everything seems better with wine :))

Whilst your at the cooler NP what did you think of the Oscar dresses ... all the girls seem to have disappeared :'(

They all look awful, save Cruz and maybe Hathaway... Winslet is okay, Streep dreadful in grey.

They look like the sort of garb you find in a charity shop. Maybe it's meant to be a reflection of our troubled economic times.

The QoS opening car chase looks good on youtube.

Says it all. QoS looks better on a 7" screen :))

I expected a bit of a Huge Jackman love in on here after the Oscars ... he has a few fans at this cooler ... maybe they're all still swooning ...

We spent all yesterday arguing Oscar topics in the Oscar thread under Other topics, so might as well add my and my wife's thoughts on the Oscar dresses.

The worst dresses were Whoopi Goldberg in a hideous leopard print, which made me wonder if any designer was willing to have their name associated with it. Another bad dress was Jessica Biel's, which looked like she left her bathroom towel stuck in front of it. Didn't care for Beyonce's dress either. BTW, is it me, or does Beyonce show up at every award show.

I thought Penelope Cruz, Natalie Portman, Kate Winslett, Marisa Tomei and Amy Adams looked good.

Note to NP, Lady Rose had the best funniest and most heartfelt review for QOS of anybody, can't believe you don't remember it.

This was my favorite dress. It looked even better on tv. She rocked that 2.1 million dollar necklace as well.

Yay Monique !!! You've come back to the cooler .... I just knew an abundance of glamourous clothes and jewellery would bring you out :)) :)) ... I'm assuming Ale is still shopping for shoes in the sales :(|) ...

Actually, as this is a Bond forum we should pay special attention to the future Mrs Craig, Satsuki Mitchell, who was there with our man.

Not very keen on her outfit but I do like the colour. Apparently its Christian Lacroix.
I dont think its awful but I preferred her 2007 dress.

Nice to see the guys opting for a more tradtional black tie look.I much prefer it to the variations that've been around the past couple of years.

Excuse me while I go to my warm happy place.....:D:x:x

An awful lot of meringues out there, I thought. Some very unflattering dresses. Which, when you consider the people wearing them, it rather inexcusable. I'm not keen on the future Mrs. Craig's outfit at all. Beckham and Madonna look like they're going to a funeral.

Kate Winslet's dress was very nice though. Unusual, tasteful, great colour.

Still, who cares when Hugh's around?
