I think "Blood never sleeps" would work as a Bond title, perhaps in a movie where 007 fights a "private Security firm" or a villan who sells weapons to everyone.

Funny you mention quotes, Number 24, because in Romeo and Juliet there is a line, "Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe?" And I've often thought that The Price of Blood, inspired by that line, would be a decent Bond title. It could even be referring to Bond himself.

Thanks TP. I haven't read any of the non-Fleming books, so I'm not familiar with them.

You know you're getting older when you've heard yourself say, "Because I told you so!"

When your joints are more accurate than the weatherman's, you know you're getting older.

You're getting older when the girl you just smiled at thinks you are one of her father's friends.

Grandchildren don't make a you feel old. It's knowing that you're married to a grandmother

    As it's the 24th, it should be named after Number24 . ;) :D

    Maybe Double-o-Dozen. (=24).

Gross over Six. Where the villain Gerhard Gross is killing off the other 00 agents before getting to the 7th one.

    (Gross over six is 144 / 6 = 24.) Wasn't there a TV series with that number?

    Bleuville. :)

    RISICO.

It always surprised me why it wasn't used. It sounds as good as (if not better than) Dr.No (which sounds sooo Austin Powers to me now) or Goldfinger. Then again, english is not my mother tongue. Does it sound so weird or bad in England/US?

I must admit I'm beginning to like HILDEBRANDT RARITY (without the THE sounds better) or PROPERTY OF A LADY (again without the THE, same as AVTAK was FAVTAK). Plus, all of them are Fleming penned titles, which gives them more gravitas.

By the way, anybody read SCORPIUS by John Gardner? I always liked the title and though I read it long ago, I seem to remember it was a good story too. It's sad that the non-Fleming novels are bypassed altogether. Some good titles and stories there.

    Shatterhand

When they remake YOLT (actually make the novel into film for the first time) they should maybe use that title.

Yeah SCORPIUS is a good title.

I read SCORPIUS when it was published. I remember thinking better of it than Gardner's other books, but I can't remember what it was about.

    'Reflections In A Double Bourbon'

Cute. Carson McCullers wrote an unpleasant novel Reflections In a Golden Eye which almost sounds like a Fleming title. John Huston filmed it, for some reason. There's an old 19th century play, made into a silent film, which gets revived from time to time, called The Face On the Barroom Floor. I thought Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace should have been called Stop! Or My M. Will Shoot! part 1 and part 2. Skyfall should have been called I Threw It All Away.
