The eleventh night ( 11th July ) some are huge.

This video of the building of the Ålesund bonfire is well worth watching. Because this was the tallest bonfire (in the voice of Jeremy clarkson:)... in the world ... at 47 meters or 154 feet, the youth who buildt it chiskened out and sometimes used safety harness that year.
These bonfires are in fact the only high-rise buildings we have. We only let them stand there for a couple of days or hours, then we burn them down. :v
I think it was only a suggestion, but Finland really needs something to break up all the endless pine forrest. It's a part of the Taiga, so it en s somewhere in Siberia.

I wonder why they bothered using the Equaliser name on the Denzel movie. It was a pretty decent action thriller but seemed hardly at all like the TV series.

Yes, the well of 70s TV series to remake has surely run dry now - CHiPs was rubbish in the 70s and hadn't aged well. Terrible old shows like that and Baywatch could only be done as gross-out comedies.
Thank goodness the Six Million Dollar Man movie never happened, they were threatening to do that with Jim Carrey at one point. Also The Persuaders - the series was fine as it was and didn't need Hugh Grant and George Clooney (much as I don't mind either actor) to desecrate my childhood memories.

I spent some time in Bergen a couple of weeks ago. It struck me how noisy it was. Or rather.... how quiet it is here. Birds, the neighbour's cat, a tractor in the distance spraying cowshit.....
