I grabbed a size down because that's all they had in the store, but I think the size down is giving me a really good SA fit, so I'm expecting I'll be keeping them even after I try my normal 29's when they come in the mail. Dockers do a slim fit tapered chino style trouser in a colour they call 'dark pebble' - the colour looks close to the BC trousers in my opinion. 98% cotton, 2% elastane.
I have this fit of pants from a previous season, different color, and they were very tight--but those were 100% cotton.
I'm wearing the Athletic taper, current season, 98%/2% like what you posted, and they might be the most comfortable pants I own.
Same waist size. I don't know if it's the elastene or the roomier seat and thigh in these that makes them so much more comfortable, but it might be worth keeping in mind.
Alpha khakis are great if you can find them discounted. You shouldn't buy them full price. Pain in the rear to iron a crease into though, but that goes for tapered pants in general that don't come pre-creased.
writingsonthewall: I'm going to miss the older a layout as well. It worked fine when there were only 10 or 12 posts, but now we're up to 37 and the scrolling was getting a little ridiculous. The old template also needed super large images to keep things looking nice, and those were becoming a pain to find. Thanks for the info on the Mango jacket; do you have any problem with me quoting your feedback in the post?

I got the jacket in the mail last week, and its really great for the price! Its fairly warm actually, but here in NYC it still requires another coat on top, so I'd say its best worn for 40-50 degree (F) weather with a warm sweater and t shirt underneath it. I wear a large, and its the trim fit I was looking for, but the pocket zippers placement makes for a bunch up around the stomach that some may not enjoy too much. The zippers have a plastic covering that also makes them poof a bit more. I don't mind it nearly as much as I thought I might, but its something to consider. Color is great, really great quality, really I thought it was the best alternative on the listing, and for 46 dollars, I couldn't be happier.
Has anyone found a good alternative to the Tom Ford "Crombie" coat? It is a navy herringbone with moleskin collar. I've looked, but don't see anything that stands out as a good budget option.

The Dent's belt is very nice up close. I may change the buckle for a centre bar one but even as it stands it's ok. Worth noting that the braided leather part of the belt is quite stretchy so you may want to go down a size.

James Brosnan, chriscollins007 and Dufus: I honestly didn't think alternatives for BC chinos were all that interesting to people, or that it was hard to find options (I naively thought "sorta beige pants" would do the trick for most). What Matt S said is also part of the problem; I want to get a good read on the color of the BCs before suggesting that "this grey" or "that taupe" is close enough. But I will keep an eye out, including the GAP ones used by Mantis in his video and suggested by Obi Sean Kenobi.

A few months ago I bought several sweater from Land's End which I felt made nice budget-friendly alternatives to a few sweaters/jumpers Bond has worn.
I purchased a Drifter crew neck sweater from them in "evening teal." It was a bit more on the greener side of teal but I really like it. Unfortunately, it's no longer available in that color. However LE currently has a cashmere sweater available in "Medium teal heather" for $179. A bit more expensive than their regular crew sweaters but still cheaper than an actual N. Peal. It also looks fairly (not 100%) screen accurate IMO.
I also purchased two Supima v-neck sweaters from them. One in black (as an alternative to the Jon Smedley in Skyfall) and the other in "midnight burgundy" ala Goldfinger. The sweater is no longer available in black but they still carry midnight burgundy:

I know! The color similarity is fantastic. I wasn't so sure about the color online, but once I saw it in the store, I could tell it was a good match.
