I sized up a half size from usual 16/41 to 16.5/42.
Glad I listened to Stefanie's advice, it's perfect!

    DSC-0911.jpg

What was Stefanie's reasoning for having you go up one size?

Up half size. Based on the shirts measurements based against a slim fit tf.
Figured I wouldn't be fastening the top button too.
As it's worked out the collar Def isn't large despite half up.
It's a very slim fit is my opinion.

I was on the fence regarding this shirt because of my sizing issue with the Giubbino and the style. I figured I'd rather go with a 45 as I nee the shirt may run small and they didn't offer a 46 :# Unfortunately for me all the slots were filled so I couldn't get in on this project. Maybe they'll do a few more shirts if there is enough interest.

Pretty sure they'll get some returns from sizing issues

Semi-related: does Mr Porter ever have decent promo codes? I have a couple things in my cart that I'm waiting to pull the trigger on but don't know if I'm waiting for no reason.

Connolly shirt looks great. Here's hoping mine arrives soon.

Did anyone receive an email, dispatch notification or tracking details when they were sent out?

I received an email on Friday morning from Stefanie. Replied in the afternoon. Just got a text from Parcelforce to say it is due for delivery this afternoon.

I can understand how/why people have been getting ‘frustrated’ with their situations but, so far, I have found Stefanie to be friendly and incredibly efficient. Fingers crossed...! ;)
    Yes. Considerably.

Just thought I’d post a pic with the jacket and by the window in natural light, as I was surprised by how dark the other pictures looked compared to the colour when I opened it.

Beautiful shirt. I can see why people sized up as I took my normal size and it is, indeed, a slim, slim fit. But I’m good with how mine looks/fits.

    Hey everybody,

The local boutique I referenced earlier just had a huge boxing week drop on the Tom Ford NTTD white dress shirt.
    Sizes available: 15, 16.5, and 17.

    Shirt is on sale for:

    £193
    or
    $257 USD.

As mentioned earlier, not making money off of these. Offering to proxy for free to forum members.

I'm taking my Mauko pants in to be hemmed today - anyone know how they're finished in the film? I can't quite make it out.

it really does have a slight pink hue under natural light that isn't there otherwise. Looks really great offset against the duster. Chapeau.

Hmmmmmmm...word of warning on the Connolly shirt folks! Just noticed the label on mine this morning:

    13234055-B1-F8-4-BB3-9972-3-E1-BCFA12-CA5.jpg

That appears to be a label for a Canadian designer - not Connolly. All the other tags etc same as previously posted and the shirt details look the same.

Mine was a 16/41. Might be worth checking yours.

Have emailed Stefanie. Will let you know.

I just received this letter from the owner of Connolly:

My name is Isabel Ettedgui and I am the owner of Connolly.

I understand you recently received one of the handmade Finamore for Connolly shirts worn by Daniel Craig in “No Time to Die” which we were asked to reproduce by so many James Bond fans. However we have discovered that a few of the shirts sent out have been incorrectly labelled.

We apologise unreservedly for this human error; working mid Covid has been extremely difficult for our suppliers and in our rush to send shirts out to clients before Christmas, this mistake has happened. The craft and care that has gone into this shirt makes this error even more frustrating.

If you have received a shirt not with the ‘Finamore for Connolly’ label in the neck as the attached photo, please reply to this email and we will arrange the efficient return of the shirt, have it re-labelled and return to you all at our cost.

We would kindly ask for your patience and understanding whilst we resolve this issue on your behalf. I also enclose a letter of explanation from Simone Finamore, the owner of Finamore Napoli.

Does this mean there were more than 50 shirts produced or was this strictly a labeling error?
I know where you keep your gun!
  • FerinstalFerinstal North of Londinium...Posts: 310MI6 Agent
I think it’s just a labelling error. I checked the website of Robert Jones. They don’t have anything like this shirt listed.

Well that's good but they ONLY sold 50 shirts so I can't see how this passed QC at the factory or the warehouse level!

This is pretty incredible I mean seriously WTF!! Agreed where is the QC for a short which is extremely expensive.

    "Dear Connolly Customer,
Please let me introduce myself, I am Simone Finamore, the 4th
generation and owner of the Neapolitan hand finished shirt makers
    Finamore 1925.
Our Connolly relationship has been a joy over the past 20 years.
Connolly’s choices of cut and cloth have always been inspiring.
As you are aware, some of you have received your Connolly/Finamore
shirt mis-labelled. We have several long standing made to order clients in
all continents, and unprecedently due to the Christmas haste and covid
conditions, the wrong label has been applied to your exclusive Connolly
    shirt.
We are working with Connolly to rectify our mistake as soon as possible.
    With my sincere apologies.
    Simone Finamore"

This is what the letter mentioned said.

For what it's worth, one glance at the local news and covid charts makes the fact the shirts got made at all in the final part of this year, in Naples, a miracle.

This company seriously needs to get a grip! First the buttons with the NTTD jacket, then not sending the garment bags for 8 months that people paid for, now this! Agree with the previous poster - where is the quality control?! Couldn't make it up! It was only 50 shirts also!

So Connolly actually emailed me today to let me know they didn’t receive my shirt from Italy yet.. I hope this means it won’t have the label error. :s

We are all fanatics on here and think we should remember these companies are not... I completely agree at this price point the service isn't great in some cases but... Given the pandemic, furloughing, production challenges etc.
Some slack needs to be cut.
Even the giant that is TF is on basic levels only.
