I hope Carla Delevigne isn't in Bond 25.
    Yes. Considerably!

I'm not particularly bothered one way or the other. Craig's done okay. The films - certainly the last two - are at best gorgeous to look at but soulless affairs. It's never to do with the actor; every actor to play Bond has been fairly good. It's always to do with the screenplay and frankly, Casino Royale aside, the recent scripting has been very hit and miss. If it is hit and miss again, the result will be the same; gorgeous to look at, yet soulless. I'm not sure he or any actor is worth the reported $100 million. If the script is bad he can be paid a billion and the film will still be ropy.

Huge sense of 'Meh' re DC return. Not terrible news, but a real sense of anti climax. Was hoping for something new, but we'll alsomost inevitably get Adele again. Ho- hum at least we won't have Mendes. The positives for me are at least we now know. Also I suspect that DC knows how much an overblown dogs breakfast Spectre was and will be determined for a fitting coda to his tenure. Also could afford the opportunity to play Bond as at, or near the end of his career, less of an action man. Craig could do a great job of this approach which would suit his own older but no doubt as fit as a Butchers Dog interpretation. Perhaps it won't be all bad, just a little disappointing.

I think it's far from certain we get Adele again. She wasn't in SPECTRE and I'm pretty sure she has said she won't make another Bond title song.

What I fear most, and it will probably be that way unfortunately, that after a unnecessary long four year gap, we'll get treated again with NOTHING for at least two years and in 2021 EON will kindly inform us that Craig yet returns again in 2023. Or that he won't return and the search begins for a new Bond which will take years until a new film is finished then, we are looking at least to 2025 in that scenario.

The future does not look bright.

Hopefully back to back filming is true and we get a 2019 and 2020 film

If that happens it will make up HUGELY for all the mistakes EON made since 2008. But somehow I doubt it, because that would require BB to think ahead...

He was bought. And will again for Bond 26 in 2023.

There will never be an "official" fee but the 100 million make sense.
Oh and Brosnan was too expensive in 2004 for EON :)) :))

Is that official? I've never read anything about his fee other than salacious gossip peddled by the media.

Well yeah, I'm sure Connery was "bought" and Moore also when he wanted to give up the role.

DC has created a goldmine for EON so I wouldn't expect him to be on peanuts. He is box office gold and Bond 25 will make crazy money also like Skyfall and SPECTRE

Why doesn't Downey Jnr attract such a criticism for his 200 million dollar fee for the avengers? Most of what he does is cgi, Dc has suffered for bond, separated shoulder, knee surgery, long schedules I'm pretty sure he is not being paid 100 million I'm also sure eon wouldn't pay more than they wanted.

Because Avengers takes in 1.5 billion and is worth again that number in merchandise/home video market?

EON with one flop will be finished. So far the risks paid off. But that is not a guarantee for the next film.

It's both news and not news. I mean, it's a long long way off, so can't see them announcing the title or anything else this year, because why? Why make a decision until you have to? I doubt the script is even in its initial draft yet, and a lot could change politically in the next year. No title either, as you'll just get a lot of similar sounding movies popping up in the next year. It's good in that it stops speculation and the usual who will be the next Bond boring stuff, that's all.

Odd to read by Purvis and Wade that Spectre closed things off and the next film will be different (I would have thought that Blofeld would be back), and that Trump is a real Bond villain, it's a bit divisive!

Has any Bond film actually flopped or lost money? bond also enjoys a healthy hone video market.

Maybe back then that was the view that DC had retired from the role??

I guess we will have a title released first day of shooting like Skyfall, SPECTRE

I've been critical of Craig for the wrist slashing comment and other things leading up to and following Spectre. But I don't believe for a second that he only came back for the money.

Whoo....lots of negativity here regarding the franchise and Craig's return. The longest running and most successful franchise in movie history has survived all manner of difficulties including protracted legal issues and court battles, beloved/iconic Bond actors leaving, changes in popular culture and film styles, etc, etc. The worst Bond film with Daniel Craig (pick whichever one or ones you don't like) are cinema classics compared to the stink bombs that are dropped into movie theaters these days. And please don't buy into the trolls that dominate the internet. They are in the business of profiting off of taking extreme negative and contrarian positions that are made up for those purposes. Honest criticism is rare on the 'net. Fortunately it still exists on the AJB with the exception of a few trolls here and there. With regards to Bond 25, I hold out hope that the shortcomings of SPECTRE are corrected in Bond 25. Despite being reviled by some (and deservedly so at times), the pattern is that EON typically rebounds very well after a disappointing effort, whether that be artistically or box office wise.

Like most people I'm elated that Craig's returning. That said I don't think I will really begin to get excited until once we know who the director is and what the story will be. I remember not being that thrilled about Spectre and Mendes being brought back in 2014. Since SPECTRE was already used so many times in the past and Mendes already gave us SF. Now they have a fresh palate to give us something totally new and original, not regurgitate an organization and director from the past. Hopefully they have a more original idea and villain in mind this time so us die hard's wont know what to expect I.E. Blofeld.
