Because the HKs were all taken?

Seriously though, the gun range was called "Burgers 'n' Bullets" and was designed to appeal to families for a day out. Their minimum age for using automatic and semi-automatic weapons? 8 years. My heart aches for the wife and children of the instructor. He survived years in the military to die like that. I just can't imagine what they're going through. Likewise, I hope the 9 year old isn't scarred for life by what happened, but how could she not be?

Incidentally, the police ruled it an "industrial accident."

I understand physics and I also understand that those who DON'T, from EVERY conceivable POV, will eventually pay a price. The instructor was coming from a trained & experienced POV. One that included a certain amount of physical strength. His ignorance to a kid's inherent lack of control led to his demise.
At least it wasn't the KID who died this time.

    This!

I don't think that there is anything more to be said about this! {[]
If someone in Germany would let a 9-year old handle an Uzi - he'll risk that the kids would be taken away from them - for a reason!

It would depend on whether I liked the child or not. ;)
Is some ways ( trying not to be too offensive to the USA)
America has some Crazy people in it, or seem to have.
Only recently I learned that a state ( Georgia, I think ) has
Passed a law that you can carry a gun Anywhere ! ;)
Down the pub, going to the library, picking your kids up from
School ! , this is openly on show, not even hidden. I find that
    simply unbelievable. :#

I know that it is a very touchy subject in America but I will never understand the attitude to guns they have. It makes absolutely no sense.

What enjoyment is there giving a 9 year old a gun to play with?

Now, we have a family missing a father and a husband and a 9 year old girl who will be scarred for life. Good job!

It will unfortunately change nothing. Cordite runs through most US citizens' veins. I've seen too many of these types of accidental and (more often) deliberate shooting incidents to believe that this madness will ever come to an end. In a word I've become cynical. Sad but true. It seems that US citizens are perfectly willing to allow massacres and accidents to happen involving guns as part of the unshakable power of the gun lobby. So be it, but I'm really glad I don't live there. :#

Yes, I think they wanted ( under Clinton ?) To bring in a weeks
Waiting time, so you could be checked out ( seems sensible to me )
But the all powerful gun lobby had that idea scrapped. :))

apparently they have had blazing rows at the Disney gates in Florida, where the Disney security have stopped law enforcement officers from entering the park, the L.E O argument is that they are required/duty bound to carry arms at all times ,and just in case a gun battle breaks out on "its a small world" they can sort it out, I mean the worst thing that can happen to you in Disney is being run over by a invalid scooter containing a 34 stone Floridian scoffing a family bucket of popcorn, :D
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

Yes. The actual problem is regulation. SO many people in government & law enforcement are seriously mentally disturbed- there is no realistic way to consistently make sure that nuts don't legally get hold of guns here. And about this I am not joking.

Now apparently some public school educated whizz O in the GOVT has said people with diesel cars should be paid
an amount of money to get rid of them because they are polluting our cities ,well I don't know if this expensively educated idiot knows ,that the reason people bought diesel cars is diesel was a lot cheaper and gave you more MPG than their petrol
equivalent ,now if the Govt wasn't so greedy and didn't charge so much tax we would all buy petrol cars ,but then I suppose
they have to raise money somehow ,well how else are they going to have their offices decorated with £150-00 a roll wall paper or lend the money to India so they can build a space rocket , just a foot note to our U.S agents ptrol in London
    is about £1-32 a litre which is about $8-00 a U.S gallon

Wow, that's twice what it is here. :o

Here's my rant: In America cops can tase you and shoot you and mostly it's okay, but here's a new one- a cop was answering an email while driving and drifted into the bicycle lane killing a rider, but no charges of any kind because, "work-related" accident. X-(

just been out shopping (need some new clothes for me next holiday) :D ,any way I must of been into about a dozen shops,
and not once did any body even acknowledge I was even there ,not even a nod off the head ,I don't expect people to come up and bow and scrape to me ,I would even preferred, hallo mate you look like a **** dressed as James Bond, :)) and then when I do find the missing part to my Thunderball outfit , they don't have my size (extra slim) :D or theres no one around to ask, X-( now I don't actually blame the shop staff, its the store owners I blame , We have gotten ourselves into this situation shopping wise where now the shops are open 7 days a week till 7 or 8 at night , but the store owners don't want to
employ any more people so now theres no staff like there used to be ,The shops wont employ any more staff
at late shopping time because wait for it its not financialy viable, ie they don't take enough money to warrant the extra people, theres a clue there somewhere ?then they moan that theve lost millions of pounds in theft (shoplifting )
they havnt sold as much as theve planned (well dick heads you need people to sell it ) so the vicious circle goes on and on
I suppose one day the shops will have to open on Christmas day ,because one or two idiots are bored and cant think
of any thing better to do than wander round the shops

thanks guys I know I can always count on you for support, but seriously are these businesses staying open late because
they feel obliged to or is it a case of ,well its just in case some one wants to buy a bag at 9pm ,im sure if I went on Dragons den,and asked Peter Lewis if he could stump up half a million quid in my shop ,and when he says what is your business plan ie how will you pay me back , and I say oohh some one might want to come in at 9pm or just in case ,im sure he will throw me down the stairs,so getting back to my original rant EMPLOY SOME MORE BLOODY STAFF
