Yes. Remembering the holocaust is sadly not simply an excersise in history, but a reminder that genocides can happen again.

So long as politicians blame one group, for all the problems
in a country. We'll forever have mass killings. Either in the
Name of their God or Political ideals. :#

Here is a photo of Michael Fassbender on location in Oslo playing Harry Hole in the filming of Jo Nesbø's "The Snowman". You can see Harry Hole is tough, since he eats icecream outside in January :D
Norwegian authorities changed their policy on foreign film productions a few months ago. From wanting no part of it, they now want no more than one major foreign movie filmed in Norway each year. :s

Had no idea they were filming this ! Fassbender should be a good choice...not a surprise they've picked to film The Snowman though...

Arresting him would surely violate HIS human rights under EU legislation. :#

Some POSITIVE news about asylum seekers in Europe :)
Now the Norwegian cross-country ski championship is being held in Tromsø. The arrangers lacked enough volunteers when 35 asylum seekers turned up and offered their services. They were put to work directing trafic, preparing food etc. Fine representatives for their countries :007)

Not sure about Sweden but in the UK he'd be told by his lawyer to claim mental illness then be sent to a secure hospital (or country club as there also known) for a few years appraisal then released with a new identity at the taxpayers expense! Brilliant eh! Human rights should apply to humans not creatures like this who are sub animal! If I had my way..........

Now, now Chris. He's as much a victim here as the victim herself, it's
    all societies fault.

It's best not to pre-judge the outcome of this case/trial too much until we see what actually happens. The legal process in Sweden has to be allowed to run its course. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) was created by the Council of Europe and not the European Union, a very important distinction to make. EU legislation is however human rights compliant, just as UK legislation has to be under the Human Rights Act 1998 which brought most of the rights from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) into UK domestic law in October 2000. The UK was one of the first members of the Council of Europe to ratify the Convention when it passed through Parliament in 1951 but it was one of the last to pass legislation to incorporate the ECHR into its domestic law (only the Republic of Ireland was later in 2003).

Yes it's really outstanding how our "civilised" society has evolved. The blame game is such fun. I think some people are just born bad which ever way you cut it.

Read in yesterdays paper ,that supermarket giant TESCO , will cease operating a 24 hour store policy in a lot of their branches , mainly due to the fact that no one goes there at 2 in the morning ,oh theres a surprise ,Apparently the penny has finally dropped with TESCO management ,that its not financially viable to keep a massive store open 24 hours a day ,with no customers in it ,apart from the odd dick head ,who feels the need to wander around ,

I'm genuinely looking forward to the Iowa caucus tomorrow. :) Onee wonders how many candidates will be left at the end of February?
It just struck me that the two "dark horses" in the campaign (Trump and Saunders) have one thing in common - they both shun big money gifts from rich people to their election campaign. I find that interesting.

Very interesting documentary on Channel 4 this week, all about
Trump. His politics, his business history and his views on women !
Seems he has a few skeletons in his closet, which may be used
against him. In the months ahead.

Another thing I've realized is that Trump isn't as far to the right in some issues that you'd think. He's pro abortion, supports more taxes for the rich than the poor (also in percentages). There are also other examples.

For the last 6 months or more I've been desperately holding on to the hope that the large percentage of undecided (currently seeming to sit somewhere around 30-40%) are all intelligent and will make the difference rather than just be scattered amongst the current field. Fingers crossed that I'm right. It would also be great fun to see Trump spit his dummy if he finished third in Iowa (not much chance, I'll admit, but I can live in hope).

After yesterday's caucus result I'm betting Rubio gets a shitload of money from the GOP establishment. Poor Americans who'll have to see all of his TV commercials. Over here political TV ads are actually outlawed - living in a socialist dictatorship can be wonderful :D

Socialism seemed to have worked for the Banks, turning private business debt, into
    National debt. ;)

Smart sosialists turn huge private oil revenues into a huge national oil fund :D

Then tell me what's stupid about putting much of the oil money in a fund for a rainy day. Spending it as it came in would have created inflation and a lending rate out of control. Has Britain's policy been better in that department, not to mention Saidi Arabia that spent it all on palaces and spreading conservative islam? Now they have lots of debt.
