If you don't want a shirt, then don't buy one.

    No one is begging you....

I'm more than a little fed up trying to justify the price to you.

    We're not even covering costs.....

I've never been convinced that giving them away for next to nothing would have helped cover the cost, and many wanted something relatively exclusive....

many have paid the full (or discounted) cost and are happy.

Why would I want to discount them now?..

I suggest you change your signature...

you will never get the point...

Good, I am glad you are fed up. I am not purchasing a shirt at that price, so don't worry about it. And here's the point: drop your patronizing tone and get over yourself, which includes trying to scare other members that someone is going to sue them because they bought some fabric at a store, like you own the rights and someone is going to break down their door and take them away in the middle of the night. If its being sold in a store, anyone can buy it and do what they want with it. Is fabric a banned substance now?
Give me a break. I don't believe for a minute that you weren't able to cover costs, at over $340 a pop. I don't think anyone was asking for you to "give them away for next to nothing." I don't think $150 would be giving them away. And I don't want or need to hear your explanations for the price because its a load of you know what.

Oh for the love of God!!!! How long does this have to go on? Buy the shirt, don't buy the shirt. Who cares? Did I buy one? Yes, not because I needed it or that I'm some bond fanantic who just could not live without it. No, I bought one because I wanted it and some members here had the desire to see a major undertaking to the end. Kudos to them. Will I ever wear it? Who knows...who cares. This is not about an elitest subset of members who look down upon the others. This is about a group of people from all walks of life who enjoy a common interest. I've purchased visa cards I don't need, poker plaques I'll never use (christ, my gf even bought me a JB credit credit card with lockpicks that are not practical for lockpicking). Why you ask, because I can. It's that simple. Will I continue to support these projects? You bet. And why? Because it's fun and I enjoy he forum and the people I meet here. Bottom line....If you don't want to participate in the projects, then observe from afar and let the ones who do want to participate have their moment. If Magnoli produces a shirt (or whatever) and you want to purchase it, then go for it. I've purchased all the "Bond" he's made to date and I'm extremely happy with them. Personaaly, I'm not too interesting in the gadgets (I have enough of those at work) but I do like the Bond style of clothing and will continue to pursue my aquisitions. Just my 2 cents (or 2 pence).

Look, all I wanted to know was if anyone had any info on when Magnoli was releasing his shirt because I want to purchase one from him. Go look at my original post. From what I understand, he was waiting for this project to finish before he sold his shirt, as a favor to the wonderful humanitarians running this show. I could be wrong, and correct me if I am, but that's what I understand it to be, a considerable favor. There's no law that says he can't sell his shirt now or a month ago, only that certain people feared competition or that it might sully or tarnish their "exclusivity." People keep trying to push this project on and on and on to make a few more bucks, hence stalling things for others. Take your socialist ideals elsewhere.

Does anyone know if Magnoli will be releasing his version of the shirt anytime soon now that this project has crossed the finish line?
    Thanks

I am sure, that Paul has some time to spare to become an official spokesman for Magnoli :D
Why don't you ask themselfs yourself?

..includes trying to scare other members that someone is going to sue them because they bought some fabric at a store

I have asked you this before, MM57:

So, why don't you go there and get your fabric there? It will save us all a lot of time 8-)

For crying out loud, this project has been going on for almost two years now. If it hasn't reached the finish line by now, then I don't even know what to say to that. Maybe you should try giving a discount on the shirt instead so you wouldn't have these issues trying to unload these at such a ridiculous price. I think I speak for many on here when I say that.

Speaking personally, I've never been in the market for this shirt, but have been amazed by the effort and care put in by everyone concerned to get it right. I don't think it was ever intended to go on this long, but sometimes work etc gets in the way of all the good stuff in life.

I can't see that anyone is trying to "unload" these shirts, they were all made to measure, so it's a bit harsh to criticise.

Everyone, every effort, and every project will always have their critics. It is to be expected but I find there are some posts that are pointless to reply to. They tend to fuel pages of responses and in the end the two factions are....well, two factions still. In this case it seems like someone has an axe to grind perhaps as a way to shake up the thread and less about the Magnoli timing issue.

I really just dont know what to say about all of this and quite frankly we relaly dont need more pages of negativity.

The project has gone on a long time but the best things come to those who wait, I started all of this and I still dont have my shirt!

There has definetley been NO money made on this project ever, and as mentioned above the person who fronted the significant amount of money to have this material reprinted by the original manufacturere will likley not break even.

The material had to be reprinted because it WAS NOT available in shops, I think one member found a couple of meters somewhere but good luck finding more!

I could go on and on but if anyone sounds patronising maybe its because we are more than a little tired of having to justify this endevour to people who have no intention of buying a shirt.

and as bondtoys said we dont work for indy if you want to know when his products will be available ask him!

    ?:)

I wasn't specifically asking you or Saint Paul, so don't get your panties all in a bunch. I know some members on here are friends of Indy, and maybe know him personally, might even communicate with him on a regular basis, so I was asking them because they would know more about it than me. I was curious if anyone had spoken with him about the status of his project. No need to get defensive.

    2) but i think we're close to being able to say that if you make an order soon then you'll get the correct buttons...

    3) I pm'd monza about his shirt....

    4) Lexi, my interest, like my enthusiasm for this project, is not going to depend upon colour, nor collar nor cuffs....but are you interested?.....

in a madagascar dress, obviously... :v

    5) I'm so tempted to reply on the issue of threatening members over lawsuits for walking into a shop and buying something...but mantis will tell me off, so I won't... :s

I'm new to ajb via the Lifestyle link when I was looking for the CR "coffin" links, and it's a lot of fun visiting the various forums but this one is absolutely amazing. I've gone through the entire thread and what an incredible journey! Kudos to the ringleaders of this project. While it looks like the shirt turned out fantastic I'm sure just getting this accomplished was as satisfying. By the way, as one who has custom shirts made, the cost is very reasonable especially considering the fabric had to be made. In any case, bravo!
