:)) True, I just love the lies and promises they make, then quickly
Find reasons why they can't be done. As Scotland is beginning to
    Discover. :D
It will be sad to see Dave's make Nick disappear. :))

Hilarious I find the british efforts to keep Scotland on board and at the same time coquetting with leaving the EU themselfs.
Take the reasons for Scotland staying with the UK and exchange them with the UK staying in the EU.

Cameron's theatre around the 2 billion cheque is pathetic! He knew for months (I am sure for years) that this will happen and he agreed these rules himself.
These are the same rules that warrant the UK a 4 billion cheque annually for nonexistent argicultural supports.
He receives them on time and in full and wants now negotiate another deal when the time is up to pay?

At the end of the day, it's not the EU that must fear the UK leaving the EU. It should be the UK being afraid to leave the EU - I am sure that MANY things will get worse then.

It's just pre-election bluster- he wants to look as if he's standing up to the EU to stop further losses to UKIP.
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
What I also find funny is all the Anger and threats from
Dave Cameron! At the end of the day the bill will have to
Paid and that's that ! All this bluster is for UKIP voters. :))
    As Barbel points out.

That's what politics is, a choice between two bad options.
It's just trying to figure out which one will do the least damage ! :))

sad that he feels to do it that way. Stopping losses by being a UKIP Light does not sound like a smart idea to me :D

But it does appeal to a high proportion of his supporters, whether it's a good idea or not, and there's only six months till the election.

Here's one of the reasons Cameron is complaining about his EU bill
Big surge in support for UKIP after Britain is handed the £1.7 billion bill.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent
I understand Cameron's fear to lose further support.

But it'll be clear that he'll not go out on that 1.7 billion bill as a winner.
He now trumps that he's not gonna pay it and not on first december.

Now let's assume that he can make a deal either/and delaying the payment/the amount.

At the end, he'll have to come up the 1. december telling his supporters that he could wiggle 50% off and/or a delay for 6 months.

That still makes him the loser in that case after all that he's said recently and will harm him more* than explaining to the UK citizens why that bill is legitimate and even the UK have to follow rules.

Someone much wiser than me said: "Solidarity is not a one-way street."

*The UKIP will tar-and feather him then unless he really gets entirely out of that obligation.

:)) it will be the same with After much threats about Not paying. :))
After All Cameron has no room to manoeuvre, he has to pay
It Fact ! It's the same with all the government talk about immigration
Etc. They don't make the decisions anymore, they'll bitch and moan,
They carry out the rules. :))

In the magnificently defiant words of Alex Salmond when presented with the dilemma of not being able to use the pound should he try if Scotland left the UK:

"What are they going to do? Invade?"

I watched him on Question Time last week in liverpool, and he was
Getting a lot of support from the audience, jokingly being told he
Should stand as an English MP, as Westminster is as out of touch
With the North of England as it was with Scotland. :))

How on earth can you say that? I'm from the North of England and Yvette Cooper is my MP (Balls her husband) AND Ed Milliband's constituency is a few miles down the A1 in Donny.

With true salt of the earth Northern types like Vette ad Ed representing us, there is NO WAY Westminster doesn't know what's going on up here or can possibly be out of touch.

    Honest.

Hearing today that the privately owned electricity suppliers are saying
Thee could be blackouts over Christmas ! If I was in power I'd tell them if
They as a Monopoly can't guarantee a supply, then they lose the franchise !
They make huge profits, so should invest to guarantee supplies. If not it
Should be taken back under government ownership.

Not sure how that's a problem.

Thats how things are sadly :#

As for us leaving the EU, leaving would make things worse for us then they already are. I'm curious to know what mainland Europeans think of us wanting to leave :)

Here in sunny (... yeah...) Scotland, there doesn't seem much interest in the EU situation. The main talk here is still the aftermath of the referendum, and the changes in political leadership (Salmond, Lamont quitting).
