I just wanted to follow up on this: I just bought a couple pairs of these Boracay pants over the weekend and they are indeed pretty awesome. I already have a couple of the Boracay shorts and I'd like to offer up some advice on these pants:
They look great but they have some fading issues. Some shades are worse than others. I highly, highly recommend that you wash the pants/shorts inside out as this seems to reduce the risk of fading. I heard this from one of the salespeople at the TB store that I frequent...as he wears these pants all the time as his 'uniform', he'd definitely be the one to know.

@canoe2 That was a great article on the chukka boots. I would be careful with the Delicious Junction boots. The pair I ordered a few years ago was at least a full size too small and the black crepe strip around the sole was sloppily applied, Too bad fully black crepe soles like Steve McQueen's chukkas in Bullitt are no longer available.
Regarding the Sanders and Herring boots take note in the description they both use the JOEL last. That alone proves the provenance of the Herring Shoes. Herring used to sell rebranded Loake Kemptons. This was evident in both the look of the boots and the fact both were made on Loake's 026 last.
@Westward_Drift thanks for the insight on the boots! I think I knew that about the Herring Mustangs, but I don't think I ever had it confirmed by them (maybe it was you, all those years ago, that first told me about it!).
I took a look at my four favorites from the series with alternatives for each one. Not many perfect matches, but I do think there are some solid options. If anyone has any they think I should add (or suggestions for future MI posts), just let me know! I also gave a big shout out to the fine members here on AJB for doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the details for the different jackets. Couldn't have done this one without you guys!
@asd007 , @Mailfist and @armenianmovieman : those are some awesome alternatives! I'll be including them in an upcoming budget style finds post with credit to you for the finds.
not been on for a while but surprised no mention of the Swatch x Omega release
I know bond hasn't worn a speedmaster but its a Bond brand after all (omega) on a budget
hard to get at the moment but picked up one yesterday and the attention to detail is amazing - yes its undoubtedly a plasticy (allegedly 2/3s ceramic) swatch but the printing and small deatils make it look fantastic
Lots of outerwear in this one, with some summer stuff, Cruise and McQueen mixed in. Many of the suggestions came from you fine gentlemen, so please let me know if I correctly credited everyone for the finds.
@AgentCJ19 I was definitely thinking about including those Swatch X Omega in today's post. But they've been getting so much hype already and (as far as I know) you can't buy them online yet. Which one did you get? Did you buy it at a store?
yeah I managed to pick one up through being a tad crafty, theres so many scalpers at the moment though that are just barging into queues so best to wait until more stock available I reckon
I got the mercury, by far my fav but there are some fun ones that will suit people (mercury by far the most Bond stylewise imo) I'll probably pick up a Pluto, Earth and Neptune at some point
it's no luxury time piece but perfect for budget Bond and an officially branded Omega for that price swatch or not is crazy
Wow well done for getting one, I'd like one myself but it feels like a wait of many months before they can satisfy demand. I like the Mercury too because of its dark case.
I heard the other day that they've made things a bit awkward with people doing events in London- the Swatch stores there didn't notify the local authorities that they were doing this big launch and there would be loads of people crowding around, so now the authorities aren't keen on letting people do events in the streets for a while!
I dont think they intended it to be an event, they turned up 30 mins before the store opening and were shocked by the turnout - just very mis judged it seem
@AgentCJ19 That looks awesome! The Mercury and the Moon models were my favorites, although I also liked the look of the Saturn one for something different. Let's see if these things ever turn up online like they promised!
New post: taking a break from Bond, Craig, McQueen to look at a jacket I personally really like:
Nice article and some great finds on cheaper alternatives.
That said, the current charcoal color available in the actual jacket is more appealing than the olive. It's definitely more versatile.

Lewis Leathers makes a replica jacket of this one here! It seems like its actually a D Lewis leather jacket originally.

@TheExit148 That's a great find, thanks for sharing!
I'm looking for an affordable option for the BC belt in Spectre. I came across this and am wondering what you all think? or if you have better alternatives? https://www.vineyardvines.com/mens-belts/braided-leather-belt/1B001192.html?dwvar_1B001192_color=202&cgid=Mens-Belts#start=12&cgid=Mens-Belts

While we're on the topic of Mango alternatives, they seem to have a version of the Spectre PTS suit:
And while the one above has a more accurate check pattern, it's a polyester suit.
The one below is wool but the pattern isn't as screen accurate, IMO:
Budget alternative for the Thunderball shirt. John Lewis £75.
Alternative for the Tom Ford Ivory Cardigan. Massimo Dutti £99.95. Cream rather than ivory. They seem to be a bit limited on sizes.
That looks very nice. I can't find it on their website though. Any idea of a product name?? Many thanks in advance.
@Sadanoyama here's the link mate https://www.johnlewis.com/ted-baker-chatley-short-sleeve-jersey-pique-shirt/p6147567 however you'll find it 20% cheaper on the Country Attire website https://www.countryattire.com/ted-baker-chatley-jersey-pique-shirt-mens-shirt/ca50248217.html?colour=Pink&sku=1467647&productid=390666&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7JXnxcmJ9wIVSIBQBh1Y6ArmEAQYAiABEgKpwPD_BwE 😀
Morning all! Well, I've finally put together a post on Tom Cruise's jackets from Mission Impossible

Good find Smudge7. I'm all for 20% off😀
That's brilliant guvnor! Very much obliged.
Possible budget alternative for the Connolly x Finamore. Marks & Spencer linen short £39.50. Stone rather than oatmeal so a bit lighter shade.
Sorry should say shirt rather than short just in case anyone thought it was a small fit 😁
Nice alternative @Mailfist Thanks👍️

@Mailfist That is a great option for the shirt!

What was your craftiness about getting one? 😊
just a lot of sweet talking over a few days!
yeah they def had nowhere near enough stock to meet demand - I've swapped it onto a Bond Nato strap now, it looks great
Very nice!
I heard the other day that they've made things a bit awkward with people doing events in London- the Swatch stores there didn't notify the local authorities that they were doing this big launch and there would be loads of people crowding around, so now the authorities aren't keen on letting people do events in the streets for a while!
Congrats @AgentCJ19 Any pics of it on the NATO?
I dont think they intended it to be an event, they turned up 30 mins before the store opening and were shocked by the turnout - just very mis judged it seem
@AgentCJ19 That looks great on a Nato.
If I end up getting one I don't think I would use the included velcro strap. Even the aftermarket ones on ebay look better.
the strap looks better in person, however is very thick and not breathable... and still not that nice... def not very Bond either
I think this is personally the best option for a budget Bond watch, ticks so many boxes imo
@AgentCJ19 That looks awesome! The Mercury and the Moon models were my favorites, although I also liked the look of the Saturn one for something different. Let's see if these things ever turn up online like they promised!

I know Reynold's personal style can be hit or miss. But I do think that Officine General jacket he always wears is damn cool.
Cheers!
John
yeah hopefullt people who actually want them can get them soon
Great post, I actually picked up a blue/green suede tucker jacket from Reiss earlier this year
Nice article and some great finds on cheaper alternatives.
