I would love to see Bond repeatedly slap Blofeld on the top of the head!

I'm befuddled by the first two names...picked out of thin air?

EDIT: Looked up James Norton on IMDB; he seems quite a random selection. Jack Huston looks more the part to me, as does Turner of course...but all in all it's clear that the bookies are making a good job of minimizing future losses -{ Smart money continues to keep Tom near the front of the pack despite their best efforts.

I'm ready for some actual news now. It's doing my head in.

Some news about whether DC has actually quit or not would be nice. I know people are convinced he's quit, but still no official word from Eon.

    Completely agree!

^ +1 ...It's like waiting for Christmas morning---except that in this case, Christmas has no specific date, and it could happen anytime, with little or no advance notice :s

I've been trying to watch Spectre again now it's on Sky Movies but it's really hard work. I hope DC does one more if only to try and improve on this one.
    Yes. Considerably!

Just read that Waltz has signed on for two more films, and Eon are waiting for DC to confirm if he is actually leaving or not.
It was either that.....or the priesthood

I finally got to see Deadpool, one of the most entertaining superheroes I have seen. I noticed Ed Skrein as the villan. Skrein seems a good fit as the next Bond. He is British, the right age (33), the right height (6' 1''), athletic and has the right look. Skrein was chosen as a "Star of Tomorrow in 2013, just as Daniel Craig was earlier. He's a talented man.

Skrein's undoing as a potential Bond candidate might be the monumental failure that "The Transporter: Refueled" was.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,804MI6 Agent
I hope not. everyone (perhaps not Harrison Ford :D ) has made a klunker. I hope is given a screentest and shows talent then. :007)
  • HowardBHowardB USAPosts: 2,744MI6 Agent
I have not seen the Transporter reboot, so I can't say if Skrein's performance was the problem, but I have a feeling that Skrein may not be given a second chance to replace another very popular actor in a very popular series. That does not mean he won't go on to a very successful film career....it just won't be as Bond.

A name I've not seen mentioned anywhere is Orlando Bloom. I think he's 39 now and put in a decent bit of acting in the film Zulu.
    Yes. Considerably!
  • HowardBHowardB USAPosts: 2,744MI6 Agent
Bloom may be too big of a name....but certainly a worthier choice than some others who have been rumored. I'd go Rupert Friend before Bloom. Friend has shown he can be real convincing as a badass, has less of a pretty boy look and is two years younger than Bloom...but I don't think either are in the running but who really knows anyway?

Yes, but there is no 'reference point'...which bookmaker, which country...could be all just made up ! A quick check online puts Hiddleston at 6/1 with the major bookmakers in the UK.

    They look like the 'best' odds you could possibly get from different bookmakers...right, off to BetFair with a tenner on Hiddleston -{

Daniel Craig wouldn't be the next Bond because he still is Bond.
