Although the James Bond franchise doesn't really shout out "spin-off" films - if Disney saw the spin-off potential I'm sure they'd make an offer on Bond if/when Eon retire.

    ECLIPSE
'The Sun is setting on 007. After this movie we sell the rights to Netflix'. IN CINEMAS APRIL 2020.

That title was the original title for Pink Floyds 1973 album The Darkside Of The Moon, before they changed it!!!

If Bond 25 is called "Eclipse", it will have been a full decade after the Twilight film was released. Perhaps EON thinks that's enough time to reuse a title? It wouldn't be the first time a Bond film has used a title used for another film. There was a 1958 film called "The Moonraker", though Fleming used the title first and the Bond film came out two decades after the first film that used the name. People frequently call "Casino Royale" just "Casino", and there's never confusion with the actual film with that name from 1995. I think the Bond audience and the Twilight audience have little overlap, which is probably made up parents of girls who were Twilight fans, who have now forgotten about Twilight.

Out of curiosity about the rumored title I checked a couple of URLs. It's true that eclipsemovie.com has been purchased (I didn't look to see when). But site names like jamesbondeclipse.com and eclipse007.com are still available. Does EON have a history of buying up domains that might be used by commercial interests looking to piggyback off their official movie site?

You could have Bond film series with different time lines. Bond in the Fifties, Bond in the Sixties. Current Bond. One series could be put on TV to reduce the confusion, so you'd have a TV series and a film coming out every couple of years. You could have a six-part TV series of Moonraker that's more faithful to the novel and set in the Fifties.

That's how the title SPECTRE was discovered - EON bought up every variation of URLs with SPECTRE in it.

People would still be confused. They will not understand different timelines going on at the same time, especially if all are made by the same company. People understand that the hundred different Sherlock Holmes series that have been made over the last decade are all separate entities, but I don't think it will work the same for Bond because they would all be coming from the same place. I also think it would be in the best interest of whoever owns Bond to keep it consistent. Marvel has been smart to create one universe where everything works together. We may need to wait for Bond to be fully in the public domain to see a Sherlock Holmes type of diversification.

Looking at Wayback Machine, http://www.eclipsemovie.com/ was the same in 2010 as it is now. I wouldn't be surprised if Twilight's production company bought it back then or if someone else bought it to get traffic from the Twilight craze.

I have not looked through this discussion. Could some one please tell me when the James Bond film is due to be in the cinema? Has it indeed started to be filmed yet? Or are we still waiting in vain?

I apologise if I offended you because I forgot I asked the same question twice! Unfortunately I have more to think about than questions I ask on a internet site! I hope you will be able to recover from my mistake.

    Apologies for the incorrect information.

My sources have proved to be highly unreliable.

Maybe Broccoli and Wilson read my post and changed the date of the conference just to make me look stupid.

As we all know, the Dagbladet newspaper filmed that Craig imposter just to make me look stupid. It was very effective :#

The AJB community urgently need to recruit a double agent at EON in order to improve the accuracy of our intelligence. Are there any beautiful women in our community who could gain information directly from Craig? You could pose as production runners or bathroom cleaners at Pinewood.

EON appears to be in total lockdown. Although it stifles discussion here, I applaud it.

I also reject the conventional wisdom that they need to hold a press conference. Why? To drum up excitement? Craig is established as Bond. Just because it’s been a couple of years doesn’t mean the world has forgotten Bond exists. I’d rather them focus on getting something in the can. I’ll take a good teaser in a couple of months over a hollow press event any day. The only people who are genuinely concerned that things are a mess and demand the false reassurance of a press conference are people who are going to be in the theatre the very first night no matter what.

While the Bond25 secrecy is both impressive and irritating i don't think a press conferance is hollow. I thinkiot would be great to know the title and hte main cast.

Sure. I’d like to know those things too. But we don’t need a press conference to learn them. They could just release the information.

As for the press conference being hollow, look no further than Spectre. Good presser (they even brought the car!), disappointing film. Or take Casino Royale. Bad presser (the life jacket!), great film. It’s meaningless.
