I think Jason has become one of the many
"Characters " who have inhabited AJB007

No doubt, that Jason kind of abused the willingness to help from some AJB members here and that's his main offense imo.
When he was speaking about finishing his life, I managed to videochat with him hopefully that helped him a bit.

Though I have no reason to question the rightness of his banning, I don't like many of the afterwards comments into his direction.

His attentionseeking must have some reason which probably lays in his mental sanity and I guess that many of us fortunately never had been to these dark places. So we should not judge or ridicule prematurely.

The public exposure and banning was more than enough as punishment, in my opinion, there is no further reason to speak bad about him. We should be better than this!

    Just my 2 cents.
You may be right in such cases there are usually triggers. I have seen, experienced and unfortunately buried suffers of mental illness especially PTSD.

It is a common affliction of the modern day and a ticking time bomb of our current generation of serving and ex serving armed forces of the last decade or longer (at least for the British Army But almost certainly others).

We take perfectly rational human beings (in most cases) , train then in overt aggression and to worst case take the life of another. We expect our Armies to kill or be killed and them act surprised when they suffer after affects. We even give it a humiliating name Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (using the word Disorder gives it a stigma all of it own) and we wonder why sufferers hide it. The effects can be truly devastating to those who suffer, but it’s not only a military problem many civilians suffer as well I think terror attacks in UK and other countries or disasters like Grenfell Tower anyone at such events can and do clearly suffer.

Truth is it’s like suicide, those who talk of it seldom need help as much as those who don’t. In any armed force you are trained to be tough and not show weakness. So when some suffer after affects the last thing many do is ask for the help they so desperately need.

If Jason or whomever he is on here is truly suffering from mental (or physical scars) there will be legitimate and trained help he can turn to especially if serving in the military (instead of untrained members of any forum), it is his choice if he is brave or strong enough to ask for the help he clearly needs. If he is suffering and is as genuine as you seem to feel he is, then I truly hope he gets that help.

As you say most unfortunate state of affairs for him personally, but if you take advantage of the kindness of others, you can expect a rough ride if you are discovered.

I do wish him good fortune for the future if he is genuine to him or his alter ego Andi, he clearly needs it.

    Cheers :007)

As one of those who have lambasted Jason/andi I'm assuming Higgins you are pointing your post in my direction also. Unfortunately I don't share your sentiments as well intentioned as they may be, I don't believe Jason/andi suffers anything more than being an attention seeking fantasist who to some degree has made fools of some of us. For my part it is no secret I didn't get on well with him or his posts and trolling and to such degree I had a discussion about it with the mods via pm some months ago. If he were genuinely in the depths of depression he would not be able to create his chirpy little alter ego andi, a creation made purely to bolster and add to Jasons fantasy. I felt genuinely bad for giving him a hard time once the story of his " traumas " came to light and I don't like being made to question my instincts due to a Web of lies.
He chose this forum and another to spin his deceit and as far as I'm concerned anything that is posted on this forum is fair game. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

I simply feel sorry for everyone involved. From those of
Us who were fooled, to Jason himself. Perhaps we can
Put a line under it now and Mark it up as experience
On the plus side, I think it shows the amount of
Humanity and compassion shown by all members here.

Well, I think that anything that has to be said has been said and I agree with TP that perhaps this might be the time to put a line under this.
Our PM function is available, of course.

[Edit: Joshua has something to say, which he was preparing while I wrote the above, but anything else by PM please.]

I asked permission from Barbel to post this. I had been writing it for some time. I will say no more after as everything has been said.

I have spent much time writing this and I hope it makes some sense. This is only my opinion and I will not get into a fight and to think my words would start arguments is why I have not said anything.
I think my friend Higgins speaks about me when he says he spoke to another forum member. I think this Jason has dishonoured himself and I think that is punishment enough. I believe there is no need to ridicule him when he is not able to defend himself. I am not trying to defend him. He fooled many of us here and me also but perhaps he was only fooling himself for reasons that we will never know. It is easy for us to laugh and make fun but I think we will all be the better men if we do not do this. If, and this is only if, Jason is ill mentally I think he should have sympathy. If he was just a fool then we should just ignore and not give him any more thought. Personally I think he may have troubles but that is only my opinion. The time for name calling is past. Let this not fracture us and cause bad blood between us AJB members. We all have our own opinions of course and that is our right but I feel to laugh or name call is to show us in a light which makes us not look good.
Myself I wish him well if he is ill and I will say a prayer in church. If he has done this for other reasons then he is not worth any more of my time. I do not know which but I am prepared not to mock him under any circumstance.

    +1 ( not to me obviously )

( Also just want to point out when I mentioned humanity and
Compassion from those here. I didn't include myself as I
Think you all know like Ross Kemp. I'm a right hard bastard ! )

I think there is much wisdom in what Joshua wrote in post #2,161. Thank you. I would also urge members not to start any sort of pissing contest on who understood what and when, not to mention who was completely fooled by Jason's stories. No good can come of it.

I worried people on AJB007 would spend their time posting stuff like:
    - I understood months ago that Jason was lying.
    -I saw it before you!
-I understood something was wrong first.
    Etc.

If there is something strange about this use of the expression, please enlighten me.

I think instead of kicking up the embers we might
Be better to let this fire go out ? As Barbel ( the wise
Man of the village ) has suggested ;)

I don't think there is a fire, I'm just puzzled.
While we've on the subject of expressions: what does "kicking up the embers" mean?

I still have a cold, possibly the Man Flu, and my plan was to go to Bergen tomorrow and celebrate my nephew's fiftieth birthday. Instead I think I'll go to bed and sulk. I still feel very sorry for myself and I urge everyone to do the same :#
