If you have a Dillards dept store nearby, dropped in my local one tonight.. they had a slew of racks with clothing on sale @ $9.99.. picked up a few cardigans with a GWTDT look to them... brand was "Cypress Links".. also had some Cremieux henley at that price..

Agreed. I picked up a lot of Cremieux stuff that I thought was Bond-ish. Since Christmas I think I have gotten $2000 worth of stuff from there for maybe $400.

Guess I'm going to have to look a little more closely at Cremieux. I saw a version of the TF Solden jacket from that brand in-store, but couldn't find it anywhere online, so I didn't include it as an option in that post.

I saw this one in the store. It's more of a nylon material. Maybe some better options out there for that price.

Possible JV London jacket alternative from Superdry - not SA and not that budget but looks pretty good - anybody know what their sizing is like?

I just picked up an alternative to the Next Mr. White alternative that was poster here a while ago. It's from BHS, £22.50 reduced from £90. It has a fur collar, button up front and is black instead of navy. I can't find it on the website at the moment but I will post pictures later.

Ben Sherman makes a really nice Harrington jacket, 100% cotton. However, it is a G9 style jacket instead of a G4 style. However, the fact that it is 100% cotton makes it one of the few Harringtons that I'd consider wearing (I have two, a navy one and a red grape one). https://www.bensherman.co.uk/clothing/coats-and-jackets/blousons/harrington-jacket-navy-blazer-263 They have one in a darker blue as well, with blue/black buttons.

Also Charles Tyrwhitt makes a cotton Harrington. http://www.ctshirts.com/uk/navy-harrington-jacket/OUC0018NAV.html#cgid=outerwear-casual-jackets&start=3

And I have heard a lot of good things about the Jump the Gun Harringtons, however, they are a cotton-poly blend with an acrylic lining, so not for me. http://www.jumpthegun.co.uk/product/Harrington_Navy_Raglan

Again, all are G9 styles, but that style suits me better. If you are looking for an exact match look further, if you are looking for a quality G9 style Harrington, these are some good choices IMHO.

An addition to my previous post. Pretty Green does a cotton Harrington styled a bit more like a G4. http://www.prettygreen.com/shop/product/ss14-navy-kingsway-harrington-jacket/

    I was inspired by James Bosnon's post and decided to pick up 2 of the same linen shirts, currently available at Uniqlo. I think these will be great during the warm summer months! :007) -{

I'm heading to M&S tomorrow morning, to return my frugal Harrington as it happens - just didn't fit right on me. Anybody want me to look out for anything for them? Should I look out for a Solden in small?

Picked up one of the M & S (Blue Harbour) Solden jackets from the Metro Centre branch. As a budget/frugal alternative it really is very good for the price (£39.50) Was wearing my Moncler when I tried this alternative on and I was pleasantly surprised at the fit and overall impression. I went for a large (well it was actually bought for me as an Easter present), so ignore the chest size on this garment. I'm a 47" chest (XXXL in the Moncler) and this L is a good fit if you want the SA 'fitted look'.
They had plenty of sizes available from M up to XXL.
I'll be using this as an everyday wear when outside so can put up with the non SA features. My Moncler, which I will keep for best, has some none SA features anyway.
Great spot by whomever saw this.

Both look great man! Glad I could help. I Got my black one last week and I should be taking it to the tailors this week. Gonna have them shorten the length and give it a straight hem with side vents like they did to the original alfani. Even though it's linen, the shirt is nearly spot on in terms of appearance to the SA shirt, left breast pocket too. Are those the BR Kentfields you paired it with? The pants look different in bothe pictures.

I picked those chinos up for $30 at a Banana Republic factory outlet store in New Jersey. I believe they are the "Emerson" model (slim straight, 100% cotton). The color seems pretty close. I like that I can use these for other outfits as well. Very versatile and they look different enough from my light grey Topman pants (Skyfall).

    FYI

The BR Taupe Chinos are marked down to $55 from their normal price of $80ish. Also you can apply the code BRSPRING to get an additional 40% and get the pants for $36 with free shipping since the original price was still above $50. Just ordered a pair.

I ordered the Kentfield Taupe Chinos a couple days ago. I had to go up an inch in the waist as they were sold out in my normal size. Hopefully since it's a slim cut it will work without alterations.

I have a pair of the BR Chinos and had to size down. Normally a 34" waist, the 33" were perfect. I felt like I was swimming in the 34's. They are really nice quality though.

I've got the BR Kentfields in taupe in my normal size 29" and one size down in 28". I also have them in light grey in 29". My normal size felt just right for me in the waist, but the legs still hug my thighs pretty strongly when sitting, but drape nicely when standing. My size down pair I can only wear when not tucking in a shirt, as the waist and thigh restriction becomes overbearing throughout the day. They make a great CR Ted Baker alternative though, so I use my size down for that outfit. I'm using the light grey for the CR Bahamas arrival frugal look and with my YOLT pink and grey outfit. Been very impressed with BR's quality lately.

New post is up; tried something different that I'd like to turn into an ongoing monthly series on the site: Bond under $50. Basically, each post focuses on a Bond related theme and explores affordable options. The first post is about a personal favorite: single malt whisky.

    http://www.iconicalternatives.com/2016/03/28/bond-under-50-dollars-whisky/

I'd also like to remind folks that I've set up a Facebook page and Pinterest account for the website, where I can share things that normally wouldn't make it into a post:

    https://www.facebook.com/iconicalternatives/
    https://www.pinterest.com/iconicalternate/

I'll have some more new posts coming out in the next couple of days; I know there's a bit of "Wish List" building up so I'll get to those ASAP!

Love the single malt article... Great edition... Will have to say, could care less about the lack of a Bond connection, I personally love the Laphroaig offerings.. I tend to bounce between that, Talisker, Macallan, and Glenlivet..

Thanks! Trying to mix things up a little on the site to keep it interesting. Talisker is also a favorite of mine, and the Glenlivet 18 for under $70 has to be one of the best deals out there right now.

    Nice!

Do you have a link for those? Uniqlo isn't available here in Canada as far as I know.
